In the most recent update, you can easily turn off the driver distractions, lane departure, and speed limit warnings with just a tap from the quick settings menu :) the drivers alert is also way less obtrusive

You just have you wind up the charge cables into a circle for them to fit in the frunk nicely, we’ve been doing it since we got the car :)

We love ours. Test driven the Tesla and the Volvo multiple times. The EX30 was quicker, felt easier to use, had 100X better buying experience, and feels far more special inside and not sterile.

Strange review. This is not a Model Y competitor as it's a class or 2 smaller. Also the cable will fit in the frunk as I have one and have fitted it! Great car but it's not a Model Y. Also most driver assist apps can be turned off easily and are not buried in menu's.

I test drove one in February (Switzerland) and was quoted a delivery date in September. Decision made to get a Model Y which was delivered 2 weeks later.

Mount a HUD infront of the driver alert and get two good thing in one move. If Android Auto was possible AAOS would be unnecessary. The comparison to a MYP, here in Sweden the MYP is about 10k€. Sure you get some space, kWh for that price. But no sensors, manuell towbar, no 360 cam, automatic parking and lane change is 4000€ for ex.

I own and in love with my car EX30 Ultra since April this year.. As this guy says in this video I never had any issue with buttonless key.. Back boot opens in just a single press, unlike this guy's over-exaggeration.

New??? The EX30 is introduced in juni 2023. BTW, Volvo is smart enough to focus on 75% of the smartphone market which isn't an Apple device. The car as shown is €55k. Not exactly a bargain.

In the UK, this ultra trim with the twin motor performance (which we own) is cheaper than a base Model Y RWD which is literally twice as slow, with the same range and charging speed.
@Martin-dx5zs2 ай бұрын
But with the Tesla, you need to pay extra for mobile connectivity (£10 a month vs free 5G internet for 4 years), auto lane change (£3,500 vs included in the Volvo ultra trim), and you have to pay extra for different colours inside (£1,000 for white vs free choices in the Volvo) and out (up to £2,5000 versus free choices in the Volvo).

The interior door cards look like cookware. It’s definitely not comparable to the model y, they would apply to people with different needs. It’s like comparing a Mazda cx30 to a cx5.

The Model Y is a much bigger more efficient, full size family car with a bigger boot! Perceived quality and materials in the Tesla are much better too. Finally the pcp and lease deals are much more competitive hence you see so many model Y’s on the road!

Matt Watson at Carwow also said it’s a Y killer. Explains the angry Y owners comments now several reviewers have said the same.

Welcome to Volvo.....random functionality where it works whenever the heck it feels like it. The boot opening is in my Volvo ownership experience quite normal which remains infuriating every day. Buyers beware, definitely ghosts in the system......

You can’t compare to the model y it just doesn’t have the pace the y offers
@abcdeffilms2 ай бұрын
It’s definitely not Tesla biggest problem. Let’s be fully honest the recycled interior is cheap plastic. The car is significantly smaller a Model 3 and Y can comfortably fit 4 adults the Volvo cannot. The frunk and boot are bigger in the Model Y. The Tesla comes with heated seats heated steering and a heat pump as standard meaning in the winter you lose far less range. This car has a big boot but the model Y is bigger especially with the underfloor storage in the Model Y. The frunk is bigger in the Tesla. Whoever thinks this is the next ‘Tesla killer’ needs to understand Volvo have tried to make a car like a Tesla with a single screen and a no button key but in essence. They used cheaper materials and it’s smaller and lighter making it faster and have more range but it is in no way better than any Tesla.
@hermanstokbrood2 ай бұрын
I like the Tesla Model y also better but an EX30 is for people that like an European look. It's more elegant, at least I think. Besides that a Model Y is a car that is literally on every corner on the street which isn't very appealing somehow. Where I live the Plus version of the EX30 with bigger battery pack is €46k, same as the Tesla Y RWD. So if you don't need the space of the Model Y, the Volvo is pretty competitive.
@martinhoogenraad45272 ай бұрын
You forgot the most important: the charge network of tesla, faster charging, no stupid key like the volvo..... Tesla is still years ahead
@Martin-dx5zs2 ай бұрын
The majority of superchargers are open to the public in the UK. And in my Volvo, I’ve filtered chargers to only use public superchargers. Charge time of my Volvo EX30 is the same time as a Model Y RWD which is more expensive. Phone key is coming in an upcoming OTA update.
@abcdeffilms2 ай бұрын
@@Martin-dx5zs sorry just to confirm your saying it costs more to charge a Model Y than a EX30? On public chargers where the battery is bigger in the Tesla it would cost more the point is that’s why Tesla has superchargers making it cheaper for Tesla owners
@ppphyx2 ай бұрын
Tesla's biggest problem is Tesla itself. They had the first mover advantage but they squandered it away pretty badly. I recommend subreddits r/musked and r/cyberstuck to read up more about Tesla's quality. Given that Tesla has been on the market for the past 10 years, I thought fanbois were all but gone by now. It's pretty well known, that Tesla's 'quality' is a joke. No other car maker has mechanics specializing in finishing the assembly of the car. This is a strange review because EX30 is definitely not Y's competitor. It's closer to being a Model 3 competitor and there it's not even close. If you sat in both, Model 3 feels like a cheap plastic toy.
@JackMBradley2 ай бұрын
After testing both this and the model Y as a family of 4, you would be out of your mind to pick the Volvo. It's no where near as spacious or practical as the Tesla. The Volvo is greatly designed for style, just not practical.
@mishumihai2232 ай бұрын
It is a booring design, very Golf-ish overall, german. And the interior 🙄 I wish it didn't have the screen, the steering wheel, the pedals and the seats, and the coat hangers. Then it would be perfect.

No dash screen, no glove box, that thing in the middle is not a glove box. This is a seriously cheap car with a premium price. Give them 5 years, but by then others will be miles ahead. Such a sad family car. And I am talking about both but the ex is a seriously real letdown, 20 000 car at the most.

Have you driven one? You seem very down on it!! If you had you'd realise that it isn't a bad car....few little niggles! Glovebox, who actually needs a F*** off big one?? You pulled it on no dash screen and no glovebox and said it was cheap but nothing else!!
