The Moment Steve Nash Lost His Job As Nets Coach

Steve Nash has been fired from coaching the Brooklyn Nets after 7 games. There were many moments where Nash had enough of coaching this Nets team, and one in particular might have spelled the end of his tenure as head coach. Jacque Vaughn is now the interim head coach & there is word that suspended Boston Celtics head coach Ime Udoka might take Nash's place as head coach of the Nets.

Excellent (and funny) analysis of this situation as usual too. I will say this, the owners are gonna remember all of this during the next cba agreement. Theyre going to make it a point to curtail player empowerment. Maybe not to pre-miami lebron levels, but to a point where shit like this in brooklyn can never happen again. I like player empowerment, but dudes like kyrie and kd need to stop acting like they can run a organization better then the coaches and gms. You ever see players like curry, giannis, butler try to dictate how their organizations run? No because they know their organizations will give them the support they need to be able to compete. Players should be players, coaches should be coaches and gms should be gms. Period.

The NBA and the professional game of basketball has evolved to such great lengths recently, and I would say it's the most exciting it has been for a long time. But I can't help but feel like with the massive improvements with the players came with increased antics and less responsibility from them as well. It seems more and more NBA players forget that they're hired to work ON a team and FOR it, not the team and the organization working for them. New rules need to be brought up to handle messes like this recent Nets scandal.

I remember watching the OG Nets core in 2018 and thinking to myself that they had pulled themselves out of the hole that was the KG, Paul Pierce trade only for them to dig themselves down another hole years later. Still optimistic about the rest of the season tho.
@tooforwon241
@tooforwon241 Жыл бұрын
Udoka I doubt will change much for them tho. The Nets players aren't nearly as good defensively as the Celtics players were. They are very small at the backcourt & cannot even play Simmons & Claxton because of how horrible the spacing becomes. Harris is still not close to 100% & Mills has pretty much become the worst version of himself in this team

This is a very entertaining feature..... But the fans come to see the players so empowerment should be granted to them. As it stands now, the player personnel decisions are entrusted to individuals who may or may not be knowledgeable about overall talent. If the Nets hire the "cast off" coach from Boston, then they have nothing to lose because they are already downcast in the public opinion poll. Just do it!

Kyrie's comments make it apparently clear why he hasn't won a championship without a lebron and why KD will not if they will not accept coaching why do they think the Warriors won championships? Not just because of curry but Steve Kerr had a part of it too the air the era of great coaching is done in the NBA and now you have to draft an NBA player that not only is talented but can run an offense by themselves.

This didnt age well. Nets hottest team in the NBA right now. Nash is a basketball legend but he has 0 coaching experience even though as a pro player you are a master in the subject but still a newbie as the head coaching figure. Go get your coaching stripes first on a rebuilding team before you take on a possible contender from day 1 dealing with legendary players with big egos on a day to day basis is not easy you have to be an older coach kind of like a father figure to them as well. Nash needs to do that first on a rebuilding team.

Everything the Bklyn Nets do will fall apart because at it's core KD & Kyrie don't mix professionally. KD doesn't wanna be bothered with leadership responsibilities, and Kyrie rather be a prophet & sjw than a pro basketball player. Neither one of them are wrong for being who they are, but it's just Not a winning mix for the best players of a Pro basketball team. Now they're hoping Ime Udoka who has his own issues can be the leader they're lacking & make a recipe where gravy & ice cream go together to form an award winning meal. Good luck with that.
