Well, your weapon is a monster so both you and monsters can enrage and you do that by having your sword bite off a bit off the monster. Plus, you don't carve parts, you perform eating attacks on the corpse.

Code Vein takes place in the God Eater world due to the Aragami or "horrors" emerging after those super large spikes shot up and messed a lot of civilization up and bringing the Aragami with them. R&D was divided in half with one half working on tbe tech that the god eaters use and the other researching the parasite that turns corpses into Revenants. Silva who was a general over a major batallion of Revenants was focusing on his daughter since she became her own problem on the level of Aragamis and after her defeat, he isolated all Revenants from the outside world to both protect Revenants from Aragami and quarantine the remains of his daughter to prevent her from returning and making things everywhere much worse. If Kruz never became the queen and messed things up, there would be a lot of Revenants who would become god eaters.

God Eater a.k.a. the monster hunter that got a story before it was cool, plus I like how lorewise its basically post-apo The Thing except that compared to Carpenter's version this one is both weaker (less infectious, doesn't copy memories) and stronger one (can actually copy machines as living matter creating monsters that are literally living tanks).

It can copy anything because Aragami is in constant mutation that is why they have to be eliminated before unwanted mutation occurs such as the Psion, Ashborn and deusphage

​@@shutup1037 The first two games have actual bullet editors. Like, you can edit the properties, damage types, even shot angles, functions, and behaviors of the rounds your guns fire. There's a whole meta in the first couple of games with bullets that basically play the game for you, it's pretty nuts. And, if you don't want to trivialize the entire game, you can just spend hours in there making some absolute bull crap bullets that don't do much, but look really neat. The third game still has the editor, but the addition of a per-mission allotment of custom rounds made the bullet editor almost entirely useless, as you just have to default to standard rounds when you run out, and the actual fun/useful bullets are so cost expensive you can only carry a handful on a mission. I'll admit that the bullet editor was broken if you knew how to trick it, but the third game ruined the whole experience. The amount of skills the character could have was nerfed, for whatever reason. The third game only gives you, at max, half of what previous installments did. It also just lacks a noticeable gimmick. The remake of the first game had predator styles, which gave you different devouring options (the eating motion that the weapon can do that was shown in the video a couple time) and different buffs for doing them. The second game extension had rage burst, which was basically a skill-activated god-mode for a few seconds. The third game has yet to, and probably never will, get it's own flashy mechanic to stand out. Which is a shame, since it's easily the best _looking_ game in the series, but the mechanics really took a nose dive with 3.

Wait till you discover how stupid OP bullet crafting in GE2RB is. Meteor craft bullets basically wipes everything and you can spam them infinitely with the right build and right Rage Burst options. Yes, bullets are infinite as long as you can retain OP

The first God Eater was something I picked up way back on the PSP just so I had a PSP game that wasn't YGO or KH. Loved it, stuck with it ever since. Now last year I graduated to actual Monster Hunter, but I'd love to see this come back. Also picked up Elden Ring last year as my first Souls game, and am working through Code Vein now, so I've gotten both sides of this franchises anime play-alikes, lol.

Actually have played this game a lot on switch I love how fast it is compared to monster hunter, even down to the movement of your character with these huge weapons. It's really fun and the anime was great! The intro is so fire too!! Glad to see it getting some recognition finally! The biggest problem to me is just that you don't feel nearly as much impact in your attacks as you do in monster hunter.

I tried the game a while ago, but my main issue with it was the amount of clutter on screen with the constant flashes and random beeps and sounds. And the combat didn't feel as good as monster hunter to me, but I prefer a more methodical approach to combat so take that into consideration.

Completely agree with this. While the hectic combat is not that much of an issue with me, the game can be confusing and, in some instances, even too easy. Fights last like 4/5 minutes, it doesn't feel as rewarding as monster hunter

I think the main problem are the NPC They're strong as hell, they can delete an enemy before you can kill another big target Going solo makes everything interesting And the special Aragami post game are even stronger Let me tell you, i'm really good at this game but those last special aragami obliterated my 3 chances in those 4-5 minutes 🤣

Agree, but my biggest problem with it (GE3 specifically) is the gameplay loop is too short, and endgame there's not much to do and I pretty much build everything I needed with every weapon I wanted to try after like 120hrs. The endgame Ash Aragami give some good difficulty spike, I still die sometimes but basically I can delete them in 3 minutes once I have their best gears

I think its justified when Back4Blood got compared to l4d2 because THEY LITERALLY compared its likeness in the marketing. God Eater is definitely more of jrpg with more heavy story elements than the more simple but complex nature of MH :0 but GE definitely has world lore too and you can READ ABOUT IT IN GAME J U S T like MH does with its hunter magazines well... When they used to exist anyways :c Basically GE is definitely a more narrative driven game MH is a game built upon its GAMEPLAY LOOP Each does its own thing better than the other umu but man imagine GE3's movement and fluidity with Resurrections predator mode where you can swap devours. Fuck dude that would be epic.

Moon Ring might be fun but there's just something about the freely edited bullets from the first game that makes it much better than 2 or 3.

When i played god eater 3. The only similarities I saw to monster hunter were the mission based hunts, teams of 4, and the equipment upgrade system. Other than that, it felt like a completely stand alone unique title with its own style of gameplay

One of my favorite parts of that game was the gun smithing. You can literally create your own guns, changing the projectiles movement, speed, direction, behavior, delay and a lot more. Really cool game, even if it was a MH clone, it's very different.

My brain read the title wrong. Tbh GE3 is very skill heavy because the developers changed, which sucked, and they took all the good skills and deleted them, and custom bullets, and some of the arts, and you have to PG everything, and skill levels max out at 10 but you need 2 lv5s, GER and GE2RB are way more fun. Also BANDAI literally took a fat shit on this game, no more advertisements, no more announcements, they literally had a dedicated BANDAI licensed fan club and then they dissolved it.

Funny how the moment I saw the title, memories suddenly came back. To clarify: I have a friend who had a PSP back in 8th grade. He let me borrow it everytime he brings it to school. One of the games he had is this. And he was also the very same person I saw who had Monster Hunter. Which was not really my thing during those days but I'm fine with God Eater since it's "Anime". But a friend who's an absolute addict at Monster Hunter actually introduced me to it and that's when I got to like it quite a lot. Still can't forgive him for giving me a traumatizing first time. That f*cker knew I'm still a beginner, who literally had no idea what the f*ck he's doing, yet he threw me with a Rathian to be his bait. Though I would love to play the other God Eater games, I can't since it's pricey from where I am, and they money I can spend there can go to much better expenses. Although I'm saving for it and hopefully get to play it in the near future. 😊 I don't mind being late. I care more for my own personal experience anyway. 😀

God Eater 3 may be a bit pricey for me too even on sale, but I bought GodEater Ressurection and God Eater 2 Rage Burst that was on bundle in a doable price on sale(probably translating from my currency to dollar, i think i got it at an average of 4-6$ dollars). This was on Steam PC anyway, so I dont know what platform you play on. But I am sure you'll get it someday

The proboem with God Eater is that there isnt a longer mode. It's pick your mission, rush the ending. Which sounds ironic typing. But it's too short. I wanted some longer fights to enjoy the combat. You COULD use weaker equipment but that's not the same. Fun game tho. Worth it if it's on sale. Discord is active for it too.

Some things that differ GE from MH: 1. GE story involve an adventure, drama, and a bit of plot twist. MH story is more about some monster or a godlike creature passing through a region and become a problem and you were asked to killed it, alone. 2. GE combat is a fast paced combat with a mixed of aerial-ground combat and melee-range combat that can be switch anytime. MH combat is a slow paced, strategized combat. 3. GE has more anime futuristic apocalypse vibe. MH has more medieval steampunk fantasy vibe. Thing that GE and MH have the same in common: Grind. A lot of grind.

I started playing God Eater a few years after Rage Burst came out and really enjoyed it though never beat it. I pre-ordered GE3 and beat that and I have almost 300 hours in it. I really enjoy them though sometimes the fast pace can make some of the Aragami a real pain in the ass.

unlike monster hunter where main story revolve around you defending your hometown/base from monster, this game have a lot of conflict between human every series

I love the fact that there's anime iterations of "Monhun" and "souls-like" games, no cap though , I love the GE titles. 👍🏿👍🏿
