Dude, this video is next level incredible. Your instruction is the best I’ve seen on YT. Most videos go instruction OR performance. Or they go instruction for 30 mins, followed by 5 mins of demo performance. You have seamlessly combined instruction and performance in such a beautiful, effortless, and smart way. Your compositions and fluency on these instruments is nothing short of inspiring. I’m so impressed. Thank you for blowing my mind and getting me into these instruments. I just became a patron and subscribed. Amazing work. So much respect.

This is outstanding! Three things I just learned: 1. I devoted three months exploring the Subharmonicon in isolation and in conjunction with the Schillenger system, because it's such an unusual instrument and I understood that going in. And while I still loved it, I felt it was limiting because 2. sometimes I'm slow. I kept the tempo within "normal drum machine range", 10 o'clock and less. The tech manual says the tempo rate is 30 (or whatever) to 3000bpm, not making the connection that long subdivisions such as 13 /7 would need much higher tempos to develop polyrhythms. Your tempo rate was MUCH higher than I used, which changes everything. 3. It also never occurred to me that I need a second DFAM for the highs. I previously assumed that role to be performed by the sequencer + resonance of the Mother. I truly thank you for inspiring me, and I finally feel like I'm ready to create.

Two DFAMs, a Mom and a Sub is the perfect 4-Moog system. The unbelievably awesome nature of this video proves that. I only wish I could get mine to sound as good as yours!

I've been so intimidated by modular. They can make amazing sounds, but it always seemed like they weren't spontaneous enough, everything had to be crafted painstakingly bit by bit (the patching process). I'd talk myself out of diving deeper with thoughts like "but what if I just want to JAM?" These three boxes from Moog seem like a great entry for endless spontaneous but still very listenable noodling. Just purchased my Mother 32, it arrives tomorrow. I intend on adding DFAM and Subharmonicon in short order. Thanks for the demo!

After all these years I got to say thank you for your demos, Alex! You sold me on the DrumBrute many years back and made it musical while others couldn’t. In the meantime I mastered that machine and managed to make it sound incredibly unique and punchy, also thanks to your techniques. I always loved Moog synths and have used emulations of them in VST for years. But I just couldn’t stop thinking about owning an actual Moog in physical form. You might have pulled it off once again, just like you did many years ago. And if I get the lot here in the studio, I’ll hope to post a similar comment like this to one of your future videos years from now. Keep doing what you’re doing. You’re doing many machines justice in ways the original designers only dream of when they’re putting in the first cables on the breadboard.
