Super grateful to youtubers like yourself. i was recently on a 3 year hiatus from semi modular synths and had no music equipment of any kind except my guitar. making new music and fusions of new music is my dream, as i type im learning how to properly use ableton live and audio/video editing software. i just recently bought Moog mother32 Moog DFAM Moog subharmonicon Arturia minibrute 2s plus a dynamic mic and a scarlett 4i4. 8 channel audio mixer w/BT Got a zoom g3xn effects processor that i mainly use for my guitar as well. My new mini studio is all setup but of course down the line ill be adding more synths :) i admit i got carried away but i had the money to rebuy my dream equipment. Learning this stuff is really hard and confusing but im dedicated and motivated, i love the sounds these machines can make. Although these are not tutorials they give me new ideas as im learning how to properly use each synthesizer. I also need to learn and understand all the technical stuff. These types of sounds are so beautiful and i love making generative type sequences. I definitely consider myself a multi instrumentalist. Looking forward to more of your videos and if you have any advice(or anyone that sees this) i would greatly take the advice. im still in the novice phase of semi modular synthesizers lol. Ive mainly been focusing on my minibrute 2s

Hey :) I have a few questions about the Moog Mother-32 - maybe you can help me ;) I have a Moog Mother-32. It is connected to the Motu-M2 interface with an instrument cable and a MIDI cable. It all goes to Ableton Live 11 Suite. I know how to record sound to the Audio track from the Mother-32, but I don't know how to record a MIDI track (unless it's not possible at all?). There is an External Instrument plugin on the MIDI track. All inputs/outputs/channels are set up rather correctly - there is a signal everywhere. I also have a ROLI Seaboard Block M keyboard and the question is can I play with it so that I can simultaneously control the sound etc. with the Mother-32? (i.e. I play on Roli, spin everything on Mother-32 and record it all to Audio or MIDI track. I can't do that :( I record ROLI without any problems to MIDI tracks with any VST plugins I want. I record Mother-32 to Audio tracks. However, I don't know how to connect it all together :( Thanks in advance for all the advice ;)

Unfortunately is it not possible to record MIDI from the Mother-32 as there is no MIDI Out. You can only send MIDI to the M-32. If you use External Instrument on a MIDI track in Ableton, you should be able to control the Mother-32 with your ROLI. You can record the MIDI data from the ROLI on this MIDI track. If you want to record the audio coming from the Mother-32, you need to create a separate audio track.

@@ClausGahrn Thank you for the quick reply :) It looks complicated :) I record guitars, Roli and Push 2 through various VSTs or effects like Qyuad Cortex. However, I cannot handle the Mother-32 recording "smoothly". When I have something recorded on a MIDI track and I start recording an Audio track using Mother-32, strange things happen... What is recorded on the MIDI track is played back and can be modified a bit using the Mother-32 when I record an Audio track. I don't know if that's the point of playing with Mother-32 and recording (?) I don't know if I can figure it out I wanted to start recording Ambient but I can't handle it physically :(

Cool! I don’t have the DFAM myself, so I’m not sure about this. Perhaps you could try using the Assign random CV out from Mother-32 or the Seq1+2 CV out from the Subharmonicon to get some movement going between the synths.
