I am 21 degrees Libra sun in 10th house, forming a t square with Leo moon (square) and Aries Jupiter (opposition). Sun trine Saturn and Uranus in Sagittarius in the 12th house. Father highly narcissistic, generational abuse. He is also very creative- he was an actor when he was younger. Always breaking promises he couldn’t keep (sun opposition Jupiter). Very different to my mother - he is very impulsive, she was very steadfast (sun square moon). Career is very important to me (sun in 10th), although Sun is in fall in Libra meaning difficult beginnings- difficult to make distinction between what my wants and needs are and what other ppls’ wants and needs are. I would say with the sun in Libra in the 10th, after the death of my mother, I have made it my business to get “justice” for her (Libra ruling law and balance) through living a successful life, whatever that means. North node in Aries meaning individuation very important in this lifetime. Major transits don’t normally feature my sun- it’s tended to be aspects with the outer planets transiting my ascendant. I feel like my sun is overshadowed by my moon, which is quite afflicted, lots of squares to sun, Venus and Pluto (Scorpio) Sun is quite vanilla compared to the amount of Scorpio in the chart!

Thank you so much for these amazing videos!

Similar to Demetra, my ascendant and moon are in Leo, and my sun (and Venus) is in Gemini and I can completely relate to preferring to exist in thoughts instead of in the body. Spending hours just playing around with ideas feels more natural than having to live in the moment and in my body.

I am Sun in Aquarius with Scorpio Moon & Scorpio Rising. I found Demetra’s discussion of the Sun as Father in the function of the 4th House particularly profound for my own chart. That is, the father as having a central organizing principle in the child’s life. I was adopted, and my birth mother gave me up because my birth father was convinced to not marry her as she wasn’t “worthy”. However, reconsidered after I was born and adopted, and they are still married to this day with two additional children. But his decision had a huge influence on my life then…. And also years later when he rejected me again after we met later in life when he chose his daughter over me, and made the choice to cut me out of all their lives again as his daughter ( my birth sister) had issues and jealousy with me. So again, HIS decision was the one that has held significant influence over my sense of home and connection to birth family. So this has been very challenging and painful, but hearing this explanation of the Sun as representation of the father and his role in the 4th house has allowed me to make sense of my situation and how it seemingly is playing out in real life. He very directly and literally determined my acceptance and legitimacy in my birth family. Very good episode, with many insights for me.

What puzzles me about Thema Mundi is that it doesn't match the southern hemisphere logic of light as that principle is being completely opposite. For instance, Leo season in my side of the world is the peak of winter and sun's fall in Libra the beginning of spring. It would be really useful to address this particular issue in future episodes @theastrologypodcast

@SqueaksKFenderson5 ай бұрын
@@na_yikaThis tradition of astrology doesn't come from the southern hemisphere. The global South might as well not have existed for all that people traveled back then. The main question would be, does the Sun and any other planets or techniques that were influenced by the seasons of the northern hemisphere behave the same way in the southern hemisphere?

My sun in scorp in 10th house, conjunct vesta. My dad's mother died when he was 5. He was emotionally absent, not there for me at all is an understatement, and the other half of 2 very dysfunctional parents. She obviously didn't want kids, but he didn't notice it, because she always treated him like an infant and waited on him hand and foot, while either ignoring the kids, or venting her anger at me, the youngest, or my brother, the oldest. She and oldest sister f'd with his mind so bad, I think it contributed to his drinking and driving death at 27. The 3 sisters were allowed to pick on mercilessly and the one I had to share a room with for 15 years was a pathological liar, violent, hateful, thief, destroyer of my soul. Even my mother tormented me emotionally herself, and somewhat physically, like not feeding me when she had food when I was like 1 and a half years that I remember, and she scolded me and put me under the sink for communicating to her that I was hungry. At about 12, I learned to hold my own, but then at 15, got raped as virgin, and dreams of being "saved" by marraige, ha ha, of course went to hell in a breadbasket, as I hitchhiked around and got raped by 12 more men, up to around 19 years old. My mom was catholic, religious fear ruled her, but I got most healing from: a course in miracles, learning to communicate with higher self, Jesus and others, even God Itself. And what Jesus teaches in a course is that forgiveness heals, and alot of other stuff probably not pertinent here, like God didn't create the physical universe, but our soul's, conglomerate projected it , mis using the energy we were created as, in an attempt to escape from It /God . And the good thing is, we never left God and yet forgot, as we continue to weave this web of illusion, that, because of the nature of us and God will always lead us home, eventually. We are there now, and just need to realize it. Of course, easier said than done. This was a very inspiring and enlightening podcast. I have a friend that's a triple Leo, I think, and I can relate. Always great to learn more about the human experience. Thank you both, so much! Love, and healing!!!

It’s fascinating the ancients conceived of the Sun as the right eye and the left as the Moon since this fits figuratively with modern neuroscience in terms of the hemispheres of the brain-the left hemisphere being the home of grammar and logic; the right, the deeper access to primal emotions, imagery and bodily sensations. So cool…

Decided to go linear revisiting these and I only wanted to comment, this time, that I’m already reading 3 books simultaneously due to this podcast where I started this to discover I really want to read the two volumes discussed in this episode. If this keeps up I may send everyone an invoice for parts and labor in regards to buying and reading so much from this podcast. There was already a book by Demetria I wanted to check out and now it’s at least 3, this was the hardest “planet” in the series for me to grasp which I assumed was having sun in the 12th. Maybe, but it’s also that Demetria is so unbelievably knowledgeable that I get lost. Yet, forcing myself to stay go linear, it’s perfect timing because volume 2 may be (not sure if it’s released yet) something to help me solve my issues with houses. Volume 1 looks like it may solve an issue where the sun doesn’t make sense to me sometimes. I revisited the aspect episode with Claire Moon not long ago and an issue I can have with planets is that my natal is conjunctions, trines, and sextiles. The libra conjunctions used to be difficult to separate, but Richard Tarnas’s interpretation of Pluto actually made so much sense it’s easier to tell them apart. I think some of that issue was the “higher frequency” interpretation. The trines and sextile’s, if I focus in on a planets “vibe” I can often get feelings from other ones so it’s harder to isolate them. But, sun conjunct Mercury r conjunct Saturn (out of sign) is a REALLY hard one to delineate for a different reason. Moon and Israel is next for this week. Because of the whole book thing, my Easter is kind of ruined because I’ll feel awful if I get to the Venus episode not finishing Cosmos and Psyche. I’m jumping around, can’t help it. The undertones of that book made me drift over to more hermetic books for a while. However, perfect timing because I checked my place in that book and Tarnas is explaining uranus and I’m using uranus transits to look at how Lots were triggered. Eros and nemesis are actually fascinating in that regard. There were issues of Archai Journal I want to read that I need to start before getting to Venus if I plan to keep my deep dive plan in tact. Sadly, reading Tolkien isn’t on my to do list and I’d love to read her book. Maybe someday, but i need to read Tolkien first. Since it was brought up indirectly in this episode and my Easter break is going to be finishing cosmos and psyche to get room to add more books to my reading list… when I want to ruin someone’s Easter I point out that the unconscious is so powerful that people don’t notice their celebrating the earths fertility by hiding Easter eggs in the yard to watch their kids find them. It’s so creepy. 🤪 Joking aside, I was actually kind of excited hearing about the books. Revisiting episodes pays off. Im really looking forward to diving into Reynolds and even Levine when I get there. This episode clicked this time.

In regards of the secondary progression, that the first 90 days after out birth represents the rest of our life, 1 day = 1 year. But what about the persons that are born prematurely, before 9 months? How do we calculate that?

Demetra’s Volume I is one of, if not my most favorite astrology manual, so I’m eagerly waiting for Volume II :) As for the father significator debate, I don’t see why sect would play a role in deciding what planets signify parents and why only one of the luminaries is allowed to perform its traditional role in that case. For example, Jupiter signifies children in all charts, so why would fathers be any different? To me, it makes more sense if we treat parents like any other topic, i.e. look at both the planet and the house: Sun and 4th for fathers, Jupiter and 5th for children, Venus and 7th for love relationships, etc. In my own chart, Sun and 4th house ruler sit together, so the pairing works for me.

As an Aquarius Sun native I picture the opposition between Leo and Aquarius as this: Leo views the group from the position of the self and sees himself as a special individual among a bunch of individuals that make up the group, whereas Aquarius views the self from the position of the group and sees himself as a special cog among a bunch of other cogs the make up the machine.

Leo’s care about the most important people in their life. They stand out because of radiance, Aquarius is the opposite people for being different , that don’t jump to emotions easily. They are often called aloof, but leadership well coordinated they are with everyone.
@M0ebius3 жыл бұрын
@@fuchsiadreamer5946 No, Aquarians are not at all detached from reality. Ruled by Saturn Aquarians see reality as it actually is, and understands the structure under which society operates. Aquarians may seem emotionless to you but what you are actually seeing is objectivity.

@@fuchsiadreamer5946 You are way off IMO. Aquarius is easily the most humanitarian sign, as it is opposite Leo who is most concerned about the self. They are also naturally free because unlike they are an air sign, and while Saturn represents structure, Aquarians exist outside that structure and seek to push it and mold it into something new. Aquarians stand out simply by being themselves and doing things their way, which is also why Aquarians are often known as genius when expressed fully. You can easily see this from if you look at Aquarian celebrities and historic figures - Michael Jordan, Oprah Winfrey, Ellen DeGeneris, Abraham Lincoln, Charles Darwin, Galileo, Copernicus, Thomas Edison, Babe Ruth, Jim Brown, Shakira, Mozart, Bob Marley, Jackie Robinson, FDR… etc etc.

This was very interesting. I have Nep conj Sun & I have always felt like my life purpose is more "spiritually" centred. Unfortunately, Nep doesn't really clarify what that is. Does it mean finding spiritual significance in everyday living? Or is there something more specific? So my life is coloured by trying on many things on before deciding what I am "not". Its like an "unmasking"to finding oneself-which includes many job changes in the everyday manifestation (Moon in 3rd house) With that in mind, I dont think that we never do what is outside our purpose per say. What can occur however,is that we are not brought to conscious awareness that "purpose" is happening now. So in terms of the analogy,the oak tree may be the "end" product of the acorn. But it is really the "process" in between(not so much the realization)that is the purpose of the acorn. Because once there is Ascent,the inevitable "growth" is the descent(and then again begin). So all of us are "in between" i.e not fully manifested in our potential. But coming into the realization of who we really are as part of the process of "becoming" who we really are.🙏🏿

It's meaning is probably closer to the modern term 'Sentient'

I find it fascinating that rationality is contrasted (or pitted) against animality in so called Western thought. It's been known for a few decades now in the field of neuroscience that without emotion it's not possible to want, without knowing what you want, you can't choose one thing over another - therefore rationality is impossible without emotion. And yet caught up in the contrasting of rational Vs animal, is lumping animal with emotion. I suppose at least Aristotle is recognising souls (by which I at least gather he means worth?) of others. Unlike Descartes who, in a much more recent century, claimed that unlike humans, 'animals don't have souls, and therefore cannot experience pain'.

Okay, but is no one talking about how WRONG she is about how the Greeks saw the gods??? In greece there was a core principle or tenant of "xenia" which is basically hospitality because they believed ANYONE could be a god in disguise as mortals, and if you were unkind to a god while they walked as a mortal, you would face divine retribution. NOT be burned for it. Nowhere in mythology does it ever state that a mortal was "burned up" by a god or goddess just because they appeared to them. There was that one time with zeus and that one mortal he had an affair with but that was a once-off. Another thing is that Helios was NEVER conflated with Apollo. Helios is a titan of the sun, literally the sun personified. Apollo is the god of LIGHT, not the sun. He has a role to play in getting the sun across the sky each day but he was never mistaken to be the god of the sun by ancient Greeks. It is only confusing to those in modern times who don't take more than five seconds to google a wikipedia article about who they really were and why they were worshiped. ALSO, Apollo was the god who gave prophecies to the Oracle at Delphi. That wasn't mentioned at all... Light, all seeing, divination, divining and receiving information from the gods. That could have been a good point to touch on early in the episode. Mythology and Ancient cultural beliefs are super important to astrology and this was not it. Understanding the gods and how they were worshipped and such can give such a deeper connection and meaning to all the planets but you have to have an actual understanding of that ancient culture and religion in a way that is respectful and well-informed. She was not either of those things in my opinion. I am a Pagan with a heavy focus on the Hellenic pantheon and this all just really rubbed me the wrong way.

Love this! New to astrology, in knowledge at least, and your channel provides so much! Curious, does anyone know the proper spelling of the word said at 1:56:27 (I took some guesses at spelling, like "abotellismatix", but could not find anything)?

I have Venus Rx conjunct Sun in 7th house in Leo, Venus holds higher degree and about 8° apart from the Sun. After living 10 yrs together my husband and I legally married. I don't care about weddings and ceremonies so neither one of us invited anyone, the only ones present were our kids, the judge and his two secretaries were the witness. The judge was in shock he said "No wedding bands, no witness, this is the strangest wedding I have officiated". My reply to him was "Everyone that matters to my husband and myself is here, OUR CHILDREN" My mom did not take it so well though when she found out. Venus rules 4th house so you can say it was hidden from her. Saturn is exalted in 9th house maybe that's why I believe spending money on wedding receptions is a waste of time and money? I just don't care for those things and getting all the attention, what matters is that we are together and respect each other.
