I personally am not interested in sets with DSP. Part of the charm of this hobby (for me) is the excitement that comes with discovering new sets with unexpected tunings. Well, that and the fact that a lot of these solutions seem to be malfunctioning like the one you got.

Hi HBB, just a comment about the nozzle here, MD intent the nozzle to alter insertion depth and let user to get better fit and yes it is not suppose to alter the graph. If u look closer the length of the nozzle is different.

Glad you're feeling well enough to review IEMs again. If the nozzles are irrelevant [don't do anything] why have them included, this would REALLY annoy me
@iquid8724Ай бұрын
its for comfort for different ear sizes and different insertion depths. for me personally the shortest one is incerdibly uncomfortable and the iems feel like theyre gonna fall out and the longest one works best. but for my sister the longer ones are too long and uncomfortable.
@seansandison579Ай бұрын
@@iquid8724 usually interchangeable nozzles are for tuning purposes , I have the Simgot EA500 and the different nozzles greatly affect the tuning. But if they are there for ear comfort /size then I would still more than likely give them a miss as with right ear tips these issues can be overcome unless it is to do with the shape of your concha and tragus, and this would be an issue with the shape of the shell and not nozzle length so nozzles wouldn't help. BUT if it works for you then I am glad/pleased that it does 😃 [if you have fitment issues try Spinfit tips they have yet to ley me down]
@juanblanco7898Ай бұрын
@@iquid8724 That's a REALLY cool feature if it works that way! Also, too answer the OP - being able to take the nozzle off to clean it properly is already a huge thing. Well, in my book at least.

I like that they included a DSP dongle for this, looks like it's well accessorized. I hope that more companies catch on here, and start to do something similar. Letting your IEMs be whatever your listener wants is a pretty good idea IMO. WIth Moondrop Link, when you tried to restart it you want to make sure you actually "kill" the app, by swiping from bottom and holding and then swiping up on the app to fully close it. Not sure if you actually had tried that before or whatever, but figured I would mention it. Not to say that I think that would fix this issue, I think they've had lots of issues with that app throughout time.

Guess that's the downside to customizability; lots of factors to consider. I've had a bad experience with the moondrop app as well. Still looking forward to your dsp review though as it sounds to me the dsp would address the low end problems. Plus this just looks too gorgeous!

@skywalkerhmАй бұрын
Actually the different nozzles are different on the length only so that you can choose the most suitable one for your own fitting, and they are not designed for changing the tuning. I would say this is a smart design since the fitting influences the actual sound you can hear significantly.
@franxxstainАй бұрын
i think its still too expensive in that price range for this iem

It's probably more expensive than it should be for the current market landscape, but the nozzles seem to be different in terms of length. So in theory, you could choose the nozzle length that best fits your ear canal.

The nozzles aren’t tuning nozzles, these are just for fitment purposes only for insertion depth. However I wonder if the brass nozzle for the Kato would affect the sound, that’s if it fits the threads.

Without the DSP it just seems to be another version of the Kato, honestly I think it should be as good with the DSP that it is without but I'll wait for your review with the DSP to see what it's like. Hopefully Moondrop can get it together and do a great sounding analogue version.

@muhammadali.8170Ай бұрын
I feel like the main issue you have with it is in the bass department which the DSP would've fixed, but it wasn't working unfortunately. I like Moondrop's approach to their newer sets now, utilizing the DSP, but it's a bummer how they didn't polish out the software prior to release. Would've been dope if it fell under the Kato name cos it legit looks like a successor to it
@DeleteheadАй бұрын
As a Kato owner, I was hoping this was $130-$150 because I personally feel like the Kato is overpriced at $190. But this is essentially a side-grade with DSP functionality for the same price. It’s hard to justify.
