One of my friends, had all her horses, mules and donkey, stables my two horses. We had the dentist come around every four months or so. One of her mules Loved The Dentist! When he came through the gate, the mule would run toward him and stand in front of him with his mouth open wide! It was the funniest sight! As the dentist was floating the others' teeth, the mule was screeching and hollering wanting his turn! After his teeth were done, he was rewarded by the dentist with scratches and peppermints! Even if it was not his time to be floated, the dentist would take a look anyway, and of course, give peppermints! That mule lived 35 years ... As for Captain Jack and Nanny, they did a great job!

Just a wee reminder to all our beautiful friends, we can all support our lovely Moons by subscribing, sharing, liking, watching all the ads all the way through and adding a comment (just a heart or a smile is enough). It doesn't cost anything to do these things and it goes a long way to keep the Moons in the algorithm 😊

Aww...Cap'n Jack loves you Nick 😍 Your sweet dentist is a treasure! I wish human dentists were as kind as he...that steel contraption looks like a torture device, though they both did so well. Hopefully healthy toothies and no problems. There's nothing worse than dental pain! Thanks for the update, and nice to see everyone cool, calm & collected... Eperlan is still magnificent at 32, wow 💛
@jayreed70154 күн бұрын
That contraption is a gag. It doesn't hurt them. It only holds their mouth open for the dentist to work. As a horse chews, they wear their teeth, and the teeth will get very sharp edges, which can cut their tongue and cheeks. This is very painful for them. Regular dental checks are a normal part of good horse husbandry.

I use to work for someone who raised and showed Morgan’s. The eldest Oakie lived to the ripe old age of 36. He was the biggest prize winner of Bills horses. He’d been studded and had many generations added to his lineage of the decades. Bill retired from shows, but his 2 daughters continue the tradition. I miss working with the horses, but it’s a memory I will always carry.

I wonder if CJS and Nanny were ever treated by an equine dentist? It must have been frightening for them if this was their first time. Nick, you were there every step of the way, supporting and calming the horses, and one look at Chrétien confirmed he is a compassionate practitioner. Describing CJS's "urges" in the most discreet way, Nick, had me 😂 He is a strong little critter!! Chuck in Northern New England

So lovely to see the always gentle handling at The Magical Moons. That light sedation is such a good idea! We had 1 of our dogs have a negative experience at the vet. I vowed that day to take help precious Star, decades ago; she was rehomed to us, due to her heartbroken mom's circumstances. I was working full time, we had our 2 sons at home. 5 cats & 2 dogs. Anyway, I took Star to the vet several times. Just for treats & pets. Took it slowly, let her take her time, gave her love & cuddles & treats when she jumped out of the car at the vet. Once inside, her "fan club" of vet assistants & techs loved on her, gave her treats. She always was happy about vet appts after. She was 1/2 Rottweiler, 1/2 pitbull --- mom & dad were AKC registered pure bred. The 2 families were friends, both dogs were in families with children, active lives. Star was a sweetheart!!! VERY strong! She looked like a rotty puppy her whole life! Hey adult weight was always 64# (sorry, didn't convert to kg). Her brothers grew to twice her size & more!!!! My life is SO much fuller, being part of the international Magical Moon Family. Love from an old lady in Southern California, USA.
