Tip for the back up drive when traveling, look at getting an SSD vs a hard drive. It'll be more expensive but is way, way more likely to survive a drop, shaking or anything like that on the road. The Lacie drives are good, but they are still relying on a physical spinning disk and that is always a risk. Plus SSDs are way faster and make backing up files take much less time. Aside from that though, great content as always! Love seeing your journey

Thanks for the tip! I shouldve clarified. I do have an SSD that goes with me, this was just a purchase for the actual backup haha so it usually is getting backed up overnight.

Only two minutes into the vlog and you are spitting straight facts Jared. Networking is so key, I'm really trying to level up on that this year. And it's so important to blow a clients mind with your expertise. I did a shoot for a Medspa facility last week and on the job the producer was impressed and asked for my rates. Hope it turns into something for me! Also one thing that works for me, probably wouldnt have worked in your case but when I need to turn the house lights off and it's too dark like how it was on my shoot I shot my 200X onto the white ceiling and it cast a nice soft fill across the entire room

That's awesome! You do good work so I know they're going to call you up. As for the light, I initially tried bouncing into the ceiling. The room was both too wide and the sun was too bright, that It wasnt giving that fill that I wanted. If I had more time, I would have used the 600x but, we were already getting shorted time.

@@lensofjared Yeah I get it, thats the con of not really getting the chance to scout the location out first. My rule for myself on a shoot is always bring my most powerful light with me on shoots cause you can always go down and double diffuse but not having enough light can be an issue. I'm probably looking into a 600D or X soon myself, cause lowkey I worry I'll get a location with bright ass windows and my aputure 300X will not be able to compete with that.
