I love the morning❤ I love waking up at 4:00am and slowly drinking my coffee while I check messages that I have missed the night before. I am handicapped somewhat and the morning is the only time I do housework and my morning routine and try to be thru by 11:00am. It is just my favorite time of day for so many reasons but, the main one being, my husband of almost 50 years passed away last year in March one day before his 70th birthday so, I find the nights bring a sadness and loneliness for me. I hve watched your "Fixer Upper" series twice all the way thru and it is just so inspiring. The hard work, perseverance and dedication just amazes me. And I love looking back on how far we have all come. I would recommend everyone watching it at least once. You will surely be inspired❤❤❤❤❤❤

All I can say about this is the following. I cleaned for my mom every week for a decade. I didn’t like it at all and struggled with it as you do. Then she passed away. I’d give anything to clean for her now. So, I guess the best thing to say is, recognize the gift you’ve been given and embrace it as best you can. Your grandmother knows you are doing it as she wanted you to and that is reassuring to your soul. Bless you, Nikki.

It’s interesting how objects stir memories as well as activities and talking. We must allow ourselves to grieve. It hurts so much that we want to rush our way through it. Our God knows better. Grief and pain can be so overwhelming, that our wise Father distributes them in small doses. He knows that this will help us get through our days and do what needs to be done. Otherwise, the enormity of grief might cause us to shut down and not fulfill our commitments and responsibilities. Talk with Him...all the time. That’s what is so wonderful about God. He is always available. Now He won’t necessarily change circumstances, He changes us. That’s a gift, because it moves us along on our journey as Christians. Hopefully we grow and mature, which never ends, Accept the unexpected moments of tears. It shows that your heart was touched. While that can be painful, it is honoring the situation. You and your family are in my prayers,

I do not think that I am either a morning person or a night owl. I enjoy both for different things. I love waking up early, there is something magical quite "Out of Time" about living while others are dreaming. There is no rush, everything is pure communion. In the afternoon I do enjoy my alone time too, but in a more relaxed manner. I use it to decompress. I wash away the dust & sweat and soak in the loveliest sentiment of accomplishment and servitude. I love the "Quiet productivity" of the morning & the Deep Relaxation of the evening. I Cannot have a day without Productivity but I Refuse to have one without Relaxation.

Just wanted to thank you for talking about how sometimes things can get wearying. I am in the stage of life where several loved ones are getting older, and as much as I wouldn't do it any other way, taking the time to tend to them and care for them.... well sometimes the mind goes to the to do's waiting at home etc. and it can just feel draining and stressful trying to do all the things. It's funny, because when I find myself with something less than a servant's heart, I use your example to get myself in gear - i.e. Nikki gets herself over to her grandpa's at 6am, so what are you moaning about?!? LOL. It was good to hear that it can be a challenge for you too. Thank you for sharing your feelings - it can be so hard to admit that we feel this way sometimes. I know I tend to beat myself up, so it was reassuring to hear that it's not just me who has these thoughts and feelings. I liked your tips about building in things to look forward to for the days that are going to be more challenging - will definitely try that! I’m old enough to be your Mother so I can say this. It’s nice to see a feminine, ladylike young woman who wears dresses all the time and is what a wife and Mother should be!
