I've been called! My wife has been a mortician for several years, I've been a funeral director for a few, so I'll answer some questions. 1. I mean, I guess a vampire could drink the blood that's being pumped out of the body. But it's also mixed with all that stuff you're putting in (formaldehyde, humectant, etc), so I don't think it'd be very good. 2. Yes, when you pump the blood out of the body, it does just go to the sewers. Honestly, I think the worst part is the formaldehyde going into the sewer system, but yanno. 3. This game is accurate in as much as it's HEAVILY simplified in terms of complexity, and HIGHLY condensed as far as time. Three embalmings in a night is INSANE. Maybe doable by my boss who's been an undertaker for fifty years, drinking several coffees and doing nothing but embalmings. There's other things you would do to prep a body for viewing, but everything you do here is a thing you would actually do. 4. About just doing reagent in the pump, FOR THE RECORD! I think it goes without saying that all the shit you're doing (putting "reagent" into the pump, burning a random fucking body) is wildly illegal. That funeral home would be closed in, like. A month. Tops. 5. So at about 1:41:00 the body moves. And no, bodies don't move like that. But they DO move a little, and make noises. Especially if they haven't been embalmed, and this is typically true of Jewish burials since generally Jewish decedents (our professional word for bodies) aren't embalmed.

@@Stolaz83 XD They did! But yanno, I was curious, so I asked my wife about if that always happened. It depends on the health of the decedent at death, time since death, and just the general environment they're in. You see it more often across the board on the east coast rather than the southwest for example. And even then, that never happens with Jewish or Muslim burials. In her professional opinion, some special plastic underwear is more than enough in most circumstances.

Would be awesome if you guys continue playing this game to get all 5 endings! I'm surprised you didn't get much cutscenes of Rebecca's backstory. They're incredibly interesting and makes you connect to her character more. There's a closure ending that's so bittersweet it makes me tear up everytime. To get it you have to get the 2 coins in the drawer in her apartment before you leave for work, then grab them again when you see them in the employee storage drawer in the mortuary. It'll trigger a cutscene where you'll have to put the coins in her "corpse's" hands. Hope you make a part 2! P.S. Also, we're still looking forward for you guys to play the Devil In Me! One of the best in the Dark Pictures anthology imo

I'm not that surprised they didn't get much happening. It took them nearly 2 hours just to get through one shift.. they constantly are stopping to chat, make jokes, etc. I don't think any of them really paid any attention to the game. I'd enjoy it if they continued the game and actually bothered to pay attention to it.

I did a short internship at a funeral home a few years back and this game triggers a lot of memories from it. Like the basic things I did - pushing the bodies around on the gurney, putting in the eye caps and such. Though we didn't do any embalming. Most bodies we picked up were cremated so they were either just put in cremation coffins as is or depending on what the relatives requested we put them in different clothes - either their own or special ones the funeral home provided. Also the few times we closed the jaw shut, we didn't use wiring, but sewed it shut with strong string - piercing through the superior and inferior labial frenulum inside the mouth. It was an interesting experience.

Wow, this was a long time coming. Still, I'm glad that it's finally here. The demonic horror aspect has been done multiple times in many forms, but this is definitely something I would never have expected to see. This game definitely made me appreciate how morticians handle bodies everyday as their possibly lifetime job. It's definitely a thankless one, and not something other people are comfortable talking about. Kudos to the devs for showing us a small glimpse of what happens (minus the demonic possession of course) and who takes care of us when our time is up.

To chime in on the whole vampire thing, with most mythology with vampires they can only eat living people, but if you play vampire masquerade, there is a type of vampire called the Giovanni who can feed on dead bodies. I should know because I did played a Giovanni that owned a mortuary.

@@Rynewulf Yeah, clan Nagaraja. They are kinda like the Tremere in that they used to be mages that turned themselves into Vampires through experimentation with vampire-blood. They still need to drink blood, but they need to consume raw flesh as well. Lucky them though, because the type of magic they were focused on when they were alive was Necromancy and throught that they still have a few tricks up their sleeve to keep their victims corpses in a fresh state instead of needing to hunt every night.

Used a handful of body asses, made some quick gameplay loop, then added in jumpscares that randomly generate.. the game isn't impressive from a development standpoint. SGS videos lately aren't even about playing the game. It's mostly just Davis doing whatever possible to not play the game correctly and Alex just trying to crack joke after joke. It's getting annoying honestly. Jesse at least pays attention and does some goofs here and there. The other two here I don't think have any idea what they played or have any recollection of it because they didn't bother to pay attention at all. Seems a lot of content creators are like this now.. it's like "anti-content" then they wonder why nobody's really watching.. I'm here to watch you play the game and you're not even bothering to do that. This video was 2 hours of what I've seen people do in 20 minutes.. Don't get me wrong, I love watching the guys it's just I wish they'd get back to actually playing the games and paying attention to them. Actually getting scared from them again rather than missing EVERYTHING that's happening..

I'll be honest, watching this was the most anxious I've ever been with this game, and it's one of the few scary games I HAVE played! Particularly at the end when Davis kept hemming and hawing over whether the guy whose ENTIRE back started to decay was the right body or not! Although, that's actually the first time I've seen that. I somehow missed the fact that new marks like that can appear on a body! I mostly focus on the fact that, while the demon can manipulate any body to some degree, it has greater control over its chosen body. (So, it's able to perform more complex actions with its chosen body.) There's a few other things that I've come to recognize as signs indicated the right body, but I won't spoil them for you. I will tell you, though, that the weird noise that started playing when you discovered the corruption on the body's back is a sign that you're running out of time and might be possessed if you don't hurry. I think it gave you leeway as this is night one, but you can DEFINITELY lose if you take too long! I do really like this game, and I'd love to see you guys play some more! There's some interesting story bits to it, and a bunch of different scares you can see.

Diced garlic is more expensive than fresh garlic. Just thought you should know. But it does last longer and is more convenient, and I honestly don’t notice much of a difference in flavor… Unwarranted Gardening Tips: If your garlic bulbs are getting old and sprouting, just break up and de-paper the cloves and plant them. Give them a few months and you’ll have free fresh garlic. Kinda the same with half-cut onions. Just make sure to save the side with the roots and just have the roots sitting in the soil and the top exposed to the sun. They’ll split and make 3 or 4 smaller onions that you can then separate and plant, but they’ll still probably bolt. In which case, save the seeds and plant those! That’s how you get real full onions anyway, but you can really get the most out of your scraps that way. You can even clip the leave and scapes and use them like green onions or chives! Anyway… Great episode!

This would be a great one to return to, given that a lot of events are randomized and you need multiple runs to see them all (including ones that slowly reveal a backstory). Theres also multiple endings that can be found as you uncover more of the mysteries going on. And subsequent runs will be faster as you guys get better at finding clues and working through the mortuary process.

I hate to tell you boys, but around the time everybody was playing this game, I saw a series of wired interviews with an actual mortician. The procedures in this game are very accurate. Idk about the exorcism stuff though. 😂

Man you guys missed some of the scary bits, for example at 1:15:50 the Body is talking but none of you realise it. Oh and ther is so much mor content in this game you could easily get 2 or 3 more Videos of of it.
