I had a Kidd rifle 9-10 years ago. Shot pretty good. Sold it along with 5 Anschutz and a USMC 40X bought at the CMP South store. Wish I kept some of the Anschutz. Built a 10/22 two years ago when I started shooting our .22 Sniper Match again. I used a Feddersen 18" barrel and a Kidd single stage trigger kit. Put the action in a Titan stock. It is as accurate as my Bergara using Eley Benchrest Precision. The Bergara likes the same ammo. I stopped using all SK ammo as I would get 1 or 2 flyers in every box. That hurts at the 200 yd targets.

I had a Ruger 10/22 back in 1967 when I was 12. I get a brick of 500 rounds from K-Mart for about $2.50, a lot of money for a kid. Lived on an old farm and we had an old chicken barn that was over 175 foot long and I built a 50 yard cinder block back stop and would shoot for hours. I reset the barrel to the receiver maybe 10 times before it was right. Then we GLASSED it in with epoxy. I took a hard rubber mallet and knocked the front sight a bit to the right. When all was done I could shoot 10 rounds in 1 hole that a dime would cover. My eyes are not that good but I just bought a NEW 10/22 Nov 27th 2024 and waiting for a day to go out. Bad thing about a 10/22 is you can not bore sight it to a scope.

I have highly customized 10/22 Kidd Vq lightweight hybrids for hunting and casual target shooting. They are very accurate outperforming factory target bolt .22lr rifles and can hang in there with the custom bolts. They are both carbon fiber barrels one in a 12.375 inch vq carbon fiber and one in a 16.5 inch. Both have 2 stage Kidd triggers and Kidd bolt assembly both using the high tension spring guide rods. They also both sit on a Fab def sfoldable stock for light weight. As long as they are handled well because of that stock to be mindful of the flexibility of such synthetic no aluminum pillar stocks they shoot under .5 Moa with a variety of quality ammo. 😁 I’ve seen highly customized dedicated 10/22 bench Guns with 28inch custom Lija barrels that have won over custom Annie’s. That was about a decade back. There were no vudoos and bergas back then here in my country. Wonder how they would do now.😁

Don't do the Calvin Elite, I returned mine. It has adjustable shoes but it's really awkward, the trigger pivots also and moves on you as you shoot, never stays in the same place. It really weird 😕. Also even when adjusted all the way down it would only go as low as 2lbs. Thats a common problem i hear. Itried all the Triggers, 10/22 triggers just have a different feel to them, I actually settled on the Kidd 2 stage, and I'm a single stage guy too. I got the 8oz, 8oz model and its the closest trigger I could find that had a similar feel to the single stage Timeny in my CZ 457. Love that trigger. Yes it has the first stage but once you get to the second stage it's just like the CZ Trigger.... well kinda. Solid wall with no take up and a light, sharp clean break. You will love it. Just my 2 cents, take it or leave it. But I'd take it, LOL

That being said to prove a point I also have a Mossberg 702 plinkster that I paid a hundred bucks for I put a good straight 4x scope on it at 60 yards I can put my shots inside a 50-cent piece off the bench rest not bad accuracy for a cheap 22 but I also use quality ammo and have good optics on it.

You can get them directly from Kidd. Built to order but they have a super fast turn around time on then.....like a week or two

I have a GM 17" Heavy Tapered Sporter, she shoots great. Also have a Pike Arms match grade bolt on a Deluxe Walnut stock. That the 20" or 18" you have on yours. Looks like the bull version, not tapered one.
@PursuitofAccuracy2 жыл бұрын
It is the bull barrel, straight taper.

Finally! I love my Kidd Supergrade! It’s more accurate than my Tikka T1x with ec tuner and best setting. I put Victor Titan stock. Had a few groups under 0.5 moa at 100 yards. Hit the 12‘’ target at 500 yards 3/10 with Arken EP5. Now I just put Tract Toric on it with 13 mills mount and I have enough for 1000 yards)) will try that soon Thank you for videos!

I've built quit a few 10'22's with attitude just maybe...maybe a purpose built Vudoo type barreled action rifle can get around them. But for the money. ...I don't know. A purpose built 10-22....there a tuff rifle!

The bolt guns have the inherent advantage of better sd and es with good ammo. They dont require gas to operate the bolt so they will always be more consistent in that category
@bobarganbright1802 жыл бұрын
I have shot a lot of elr rimfire with a lh cz452. Considering the limited accuracy of the ammo, a good center fire would be much better for the money, if you want really hit a target.
@PursuitofAccuracy2 жыл бұрын
Depends on the goals i suppose. If your looking to shoot past 600 then yeah centerfire is where its at. But lots of fun to be had at 500 and in with a 22lr

That is awesome. I'm working on an old 1022 with a volquartson carbon fiber barrel. I've trued the bolt face, replaced the trigger and bedded the stock. It won't come close to those groups. Any suggestions what else to try?

If im demonstrating accuracy of the rifle sometimes it helpful to have it impact off center so i keep my same aiming point without impacts disrupting it
