This power supply is a gem. I’ve had mine for almost 3 years. The only real complaint I have on this is the power switch not being recessed. Be aware of that when you’re mounting it on your board. Other than that, this a GREAT bang for buck! Btw, the USA going price is $69.00 USD

I saw your video and found one used for less than 30 dolars. I think anyone who is complaining about this power supply never really used a lot of pedals on standard daisy chain :) JP-05 is good enough for this kind of money. It has a lot f power ports (for normal user it's more than enough), different mA to cover a lot of pedals, blue LED lights are so bright that if you mount it propperly it can light your pedalboard to tweak pedals in dark rooms, also you can charge your phone with it. Guys, it's a bargain. Check prices of other power supplies and compare them. If you'll be lucky you can find used one for a couple bucks. Great piece of equipment

I just ordered one. I reckon it will be perfect for my 6-pedals + crybaby wah pedalboard. The only two slight issues are that I will be mounting this power supply under the pedalboard so 1. I won't be able to see the battery life indicator and 2. I worry that I might accidentally turn the power supply on while carrying it in the bag, discharging the battery in the process.

If you run into mounting issues, I sometimes use Velcro tape to secure it a bit more while also using mounting plates. If you feel up for it, you could drill a few holes into the pedal board where the LED indicators would normally be so you can see it. A bit of DIY modding for your pedal board

Considering 2 of these or 2 529i’s to power a decent sized board 12 pedals and a couple of em are power hungry and they are a mix of both digital & analogue , my main concern is having enough juice to cover any and all of my gigs if anyone has experience with powering 10 or more pedals with these your feedback would be much appreciated 🙏
@BandOnABudgetNZ11 ай бұрын
If I had setup with 10 pedals or more id consider using the 529i just because the outputs have a higher current of 500mA and 300mA to choose from where as the Joyo has a couple of 500mA but the rest are 100mA. For example If a few pedals only require 100mA or less you could daisy chain up to 3 of them from the 300mA output (preferably analog pedals and save the digital pedals for the 500mA)
@hiriwarikihana128311 ай бұрын
Ive got an HX stomp and a NUX B8 wireless system both of which require 500ma other than those two i have an scf gold stereo chorus that draws 150ma otherwise the rest are under 100.. should be fine running two Joyo units together right?
@BandOnABudgetNZ11 ай бұрын
@@hiriwarikihana1283 It should be ok just make sure you dont daisy chain the two power supply. If in doubt its best to just use one output per pedal to ensure it has sufficient current to power the pedal.

Daisy chain not an Independent power supply.
@BartokViktor7 ай бұрын
Is this really an isolated power supply ? As far as i know, the first issue with cheap power supplies is thath they say they are isolated, but in reality, they are just a daisy chain in a box. Daisy chains can be noisy. The second thing that may cause some noise, is mounting the power supply under effect pedals or cables, because the power supply generates an electric field that interfiers. As i know switch power supplies doesn't have this problem, because they use different technology. Does this pedal have this issue ? Im asking because i want to build a pedalboard and i want a good PS from the start, but i don't want to spend a fortune on a power supply, if it is not necessary. So my second question is, what is the downside of this PS, compared to the expenesive and more well known ones ? And if nothing, what is the point of buying them at an unreasonably high price, not knowing the existence of this affordable option ?
@BandOnABudgetNZ7 ай бұрын
According to the label and manual it is isolated... however I dont think it is fully. I know there layout and design shows some of the outputs positioned into groups so I wonder if the title isolated is kind of misleading to those groups only. I have used this for so long now and pretty happy with the sound. Sometimes I may hear some noise but that's mainly due to one setup I had where there was a lot of high gain and volume. But for the most part its pretty quiet. Just be sure to run your digital FX separate to your analog FX within the groups on the power supply. In short, you get what you pay for, in this case I feel like I lucked out and got a pretty reasonable priced power supply that not only provides power for my pedals but also has a USB charge port AND built in battery to run on its own charge. If you are worried about noise then definitely go for a more expensive one with the trade off being possibly less outputs, no USB and no recharge capability. Is there a way you can take your pedalboard rig into a music store and try our the power supply?

I own two of these. I haven't noticed any noise on my bass pedal rig. Seems to run pretty quiet. On my guitar rig, there was a very very faint hiss/hum however it was hard to tell if that was actually the power supply or other interference. I only heard it when practicing at home when the whole room is silent and if the volume on my amp or headphones was up quite loud. At a gig, I can never hear it, the ambient noise of the room and the crowd masks it so much that you could never tell and I've never had any issue live. Soundie never had any issues either, says my signal came through pretty clean.
