I tried this but on a smaller scale with 400g mince, 1 large onion, 1 can of chickpeas, a can of chopped tomatoes instead of passata, fresh garlic and ginger finely chopped, didn't have coriander powder so added smoked paprika, and used cinnamon powder as I didn't have a stick - I was starving so didn't cook it for as long in total.. my onions were soft and browned but not broken down like in the video . But it still tasted amazinggg so much flavour... yummm! thanks for sharing the recipe, so excited at having tried something new! I had lost my mojo for cooking and was feeling uninspired... you have ignited my zest for cooking again! Thank you! :)

Well I am hooked on this recipe. I have just finished eating. I had a shop bought garlic and coriander naan with it. It was so good I couldn't believe I had made it. The flavour was so good. Also I think the coconut oil gave it a richness. I used gheer in the past and as I remarked in my previous comment I used to put all the herbs and spices in at the same time and I didn't brown the onions. I found my plastic potato masher was good for breaking the clumps of mince meat. Thank you once again.

@@MyLittleKitchenRecipes Shamza, where I live in Canada is a very small town. Lambs (so called) here are not edible by some of us who moved from sub-continent. I always prefer to use beef if available. I have to drive a few hours to get a good quality meat. Mainly, the wildest I have gone so far with chick peas is Lahori Channa Massala or Murgh Chola 🤫. IA with qeema recipe I can imagine how tasty it can be. So far being quarantined, we tried to master some of traditional dishes but I know within next two weeks, I will certainly try this recipe and shall let you know. For you, keep up the good work and stay safe. Love your original grandma recipes and like how you feel proud of them. Love how you present it.👍

For your ginger and garlic do you buy the blocks frozen or make them at home? Trying to judge how much fresh ingredients these blocks are equivalent to. :) Thanks!

Found it in the Lam Pilau video :) 1 tbsp of paste!
@MyLittleKitchenRecipes3 жыл бұрын
Sorry Millennial Bug for the late reply, I've had a back log of comments that I was working through! So glad you managed to find the equivalent to the frozen peices of ginger & garlic cubes. Yes it is 1 tablespoon for each block 😊👍

I would not advise you to use coconut oil as it's quite heavy and makes meat dishes a bit too much a more lighter type off oil sunflower is better as Coco nut pile when it is not heated it becomes solid and does not stay in a liquid form as you see.
