THE MOST BASIC ARC'TERYX JACKET?! Arc'teryx Beta Jacket Review

The Beta Jacket is basically a Zeta SL without Paclite. It is light with minimal/basic features that makes it a very generic rain jacket with Arc'teryx patterning. In my opinion it is suitable for a large audience that does not require technical features and is the most budget friendly hard shell in the Arc'teryx line up.

It's $50 less budget friendly than it was last year. My review: Very light and packs down well. The hadron is not currently available and who knows when or if it will return making the Beta the lightest jacket in the Beta line. Beta hood is much nicer than stormhood if you don't wear a helmet. It's a great jacket.

cant decide between this and the beta LT. I know getting the storm hood and pit zips for an extra $50 sounds worth it but after thinking about it, I can't see myself going climbing or hiking anytime soon where I need the hood. Pit zips sound great for skiing but I have another ski shell from helly hansen for that. Honestly I see myself using this more for everyday and city use where it's raining. Maybe if I go on a hike anytime soon I'll take it with me. I'm on the slimmer and shorter side 5'6 so I think this fit should be good where the LT might be larger?

If you already have another jacket for more active pursuits the Beta would be perfect for you for the everyday/city usage.

You should get the Beta AR to futureproof yourself and have an allrounder that can be used for active pursuits. Get this Beta jacket if cost is your primary concern.

Hi would you compare the slim fit and the standard size of the Arcteryx, since Beta Lt is a little bit tight for me in size s, but I am concerning if the size s of Beta AR is fit for me or not.

Beta AR is regular fit so it will be roomy for you relative to the LT.

The long sleeves would bother me. Do the wrist velcro help?

It helps the cuffs from going over your hand but not ideal if it bothers you. Perhaps the Fraser would be a better jacket if you're mainly using it in urban settings.

Probably some hiking but nothing crazy, and I’m not sure what temperature as I haven’t been to Canada before, I think I will wait until I’m in Vancouver to buy one as it will be cheaper than buying it in England
