I hope your awful experience during your walk trip in Santa Marta was just a minor inconvenient during your time in Colombia, and what remains in your memories and videos are all the wonderful things my country has to offer to the world. Thanks for showing some of those things in your videos.

Hello Alina: Yes, I have visited Tayrona Park since 1985, and in July 2024 it was my 52nd visit. There have really been so many visits, because it is a place that comforts my body and spirit. I have always done it in camping mode and I prepare my own food. The minimum stays have been 4 nights and the longest 18 days. Well, over the years I can say that the park has had marked geological and social transformations, from a tourist point of view. I loved it much more before than now, because I am allergic to crowds of people on beaches and roads. Now I look for places further away from the beach, even if I have to travel further to get to them each day. Well, this is something I can tell you about my experience in Tayrona Park.

Watching your video , can’t wait to go back to Tayrona National Park , I went there three years ago in May 2019 , it wasn’t to packed at that time and I think it’s a good month to go , as well as the end of July and all august , those months aren’t “high season” in Colombia and it’s supposed to be dry weather, I’m glad you are getting better after the terrible experience , despite of this I can assure you most of the people here are nice and friendly 💖, by the way go to “eje cafetero” there are beautiful towns and breathtaking landscapes , and come to Medellín I’m sure you’ll enjoy here .

The City of Medellin has a certain charm . It had a reputation in the past of being dangerous and unsafe. That's gone. But like any place you visit , you know best concerning your safety protocols. Tayrona has many beautiful places. There are also beautiful spots outside but close to Tayrona . Some are Playa Los Angeles and Playa Casa Grande. There are also places down the road like Burtaca and Palomino. They can get crowded though. Above Minca there is another place in the Sierra Nevadas although it is a bit pricey. It is called the El Dorado Nature Preserve above the clouds. You can see snow capped mountains from there. Not sure if it is in your plans but the Department of Santander has some beautiful places like the Chicamocha Canyon. In December I went paragliding there plus the canyon is very picturesque. I stayed in Bucaramanga when I went. On the other side of the park are the towns of San Gil and Aratoca which are also picturesque along the canyon. Good luck on your travels.
