Thank you! This time, I only walked for 2 days, covering 30 km from a village called Biertan to the town of Medias. I'm planning to return and start from the beginning of the trail during the busier season. In early spring, I couldn't find accommodation in some of the small villages, as many weren't yet open due to fewer hikers, so it could only be done with a tent. 😊

hi Olive 🫒🌻, so nice to see you back with a video! And showing us more of your home country, including the romantic Sighisoara (what an interesting name!) and introducing us to the fairly new Via Transilvanica! (its even longer than the Camino Frances!!) I adore old towns so much, and had the privilege of growing up in a small German town with a medieval centre. I also lived for many years until recent in a Victorian building in Scotland - enjoyed that so much! And listening to your personal recent life journey is wonderful... I loved hearing your attitude of following your dreams, daring to do what you really want to do - my life's motto too!! About 7 years ago I gave up everything for a new step, following my new love to California, to find myself back in Europe only about 1/2 year later, after our shared vision (including the relationship) had crashed to the ground... but it still felt so satisfying to have dared that step into the unknown... I know that I would have regrets today, if I wouldn't have given it a chance. And your next journey is also already planned?! - to Italy!! I lived in Umbria for 1/2 years - by now quite long ago though... I can highly recommend Nicole of 'True food TV' on youtube - she's so enthusiastic for the subject, and puts her foot down on Mediterranean diet, being as nourishing and delicious, as healthy - I have already learned a lot about food in general from her. @@oliviaelenat thank you, Olive - such a sweet reply! ❣ I'd be curious to hear about your Italian adventure - hopefully you will create some video footage there too! 🫒🍷🍕 Having grown up at the German-Austrian border, I often spent my summer school holidays with my family at the beaches around Venice. Later I also visited Sicily - amazing! Loved Taormina and the close-by Etna - a good reminder of how active the earth is beneath Italy - 3 tectonic plates meet there and rub against each other... however: volcanic ashes are also very fertile, and make for fantastic soil... the best oranges I've ever eaten, were grown at the foothills of that volcano... 🌋🥝🍋 During my time living in Italy, I was close to Assisi - a very magical place and of rich spiritual history, still feasible today... I lived in an Indian-inspired ashram there on the countryside, practicing meditation, chanting and yoga on a daily base. I had such a nourishing, happy time there, and was invited to stay on and become part of the small community running it, but I felt it was time for me to move on... but I can highly recommend the area, also the neighbouring famous province of Tuscany - so beautiful... have you already decided where you will go? Rome is probably a 'must', I guess, but its so very touristy! 😎 ...sending you blessings 🕉

​@@jornspirit Thank you for sharing your wonderful memories and recommendations! ⛰🏕🍊 For this trip, I planned my itinerary around my partner's work trip, since accommodation was already provided, so I didn't have as much flexibility in choosing the destinations. 😊 I've already visited some of the main tourist attractions in Italy, which makes this visit more relaxed. However, I still have yet to explore the south of Italy, and it's definitely on my list! 🗺 This trip includes a few days at a nature reserve close to Pistoia in Tuscany, then a few days in Rome, and a short stay in Naples. I will share the videos after my Transylvania trip. 😊 Your time close to Assisi and the area near Taormina sound amazing! 🏞🌅 I'll be sure to keep those places in mind for future travels. 🌎✈ Wishing you all the best! ☀

@@oliviaelenat well, Rome and Naples are certainly great places to get top-notch Italian food, particularly Naples has a high reputation 'of the table'... 🍕🥘 ...in terms of the south: I've never been to the south-east, but a friend of mine lived there for a while... have you heard about the 'trullis'?! = small round stone houses, typical for the area - there are apparently around 50.000 of them, roughly between Bari and Taranto... they remind me a bit of the round houses on the camino, when you cross into Galicia, at O Cebreiro 🛖🌅...and just under 50% of the Italian olive groves are in that region as well - paradise to my ears... 🫒🌞
