The List murders are so interesting. The way they found him is so cool, but also he put his families bodies in the ballroom of their house that had a stain-glass ceiling. In that ceiling was a jewel that if he sold would have fixed all their money trouble like 3x over. And a lot of people think the money trouble was his biggest motivation for killing his family.
@klash81311 ай бұрын
I am rather well versed in the List case. I grew up about 15 miles away from the house. It happened on November 9th, 1971. The way he carried out the murders so meticulously. I could go on and on about the case, but I'd be here for days...

It’s been a long time since I looked into info on that case. I always suspected that 1) the daughter was trying to freak out and piss off her family by claiming to be a witch 2) Satanism/witchcraft claims were a form of demonization planned before the murder. The same myths were rampant during the Satanic Panic and are still rampant today. Witchcraft/Wicca has absolutely nothing to do with Satanism but most Christians use the terms interchangeably.

This story made me understand why when I spent the night away from home as a teen (I was mad at my parents 🤦♀️), my dad showed up at my work the next morning and he was beyond relieved that I was THERE. Kids, don't lie to your parents, speaking from experience, and as a mom myself. It's never worth it as much as it may seem like it at the time. Good parents just want our kid to be SAFE, they'd rather be frustrated with you, than never see you ever again. ❤

Listen to the birds, the crickets... Observe their behaviour. First, you'll find out how beautiful that is and later, you'll have them as reassurance that everything is ok (cos they shut up if something is wrong...and it never is). I wish you all the best.

The moment Kris began describing the conflicting descriptions of this poor girl, I knew this was gonna be a very frustrating case. Amazing job kris! Love the story telling and commentary. Also just a note on the John List murders- the bodies weren’t discovered for almost a month after being deceased because of the family’s introverted nature and the notes List sent to the schools. So List had a month head start of the police.

@naturalcambion374711 ай бұрын
@@Hoping_for_Patience I go back quite often. The thing is no one really talks about it. Most people haven’t a clue that it even happened. The story I heard was that the sheriffs son was an oddball that was obsessed with her. She kept denying him and he lost it. The crime scene was a cover up either by him or the sheriff. The weird thing is he was sent off to live with relatives in the midwest somewhere and never heard from again.
@andycristiana104311 ай бұрын
@naturalcambion3747 that's what my mind went to, a cover up. Small towns sometimes don't want to stir the wasp nest (small town bad cops). I mean, who would, you live there.

@@andycristiana1043 yup! And the whole situation was just weird. I’m sure no one truly knew what happened. It was just easier to not talk about it.
@mariamartinusz969911 ай бұрын
@naturalcambion3747 Make it a main comment, so people can see it. That cover up happens in small towns. I had a relative that died in a car accident. Police determined that he was the one driving the car. How did he fly through the windshield from behind the wheel? Also, his buddy who was underage to have a licence was determined, he was in the passenger seat, then came to the funeral limping (classic injury if your foot gets stuck under the pedal). Well, he was the local cop's son...

The stories I could tell you of the absolute incompetence of the cops in Saint-Jean-Sur-Richelieux... My little brother had a horrible habit of leaving the house for a few days without telling anyone. The cops didn't do anything until it had been a day... I almost lost my brother because of shit like this... The whole system needs to be reworked in it's entirety.

I disagree. I understand from your point of view that you want your close ones to be safe. But you need to see it from the other side aswell. People ask him if he worries about my safety being here alone. He shows them pics of of our pyrs- which the largest 2 are over 220 pounds and outweigh me by 100 pounds, easy. Even the smallest pyr is my weight- 120 or so. And says 'would you worry about YOUR wife being alone?' the answer is always no. Even if you get past 1 dog... there's 6 more coming for you. Get past those and I have a shotgun (yanno- farm.) lol Yes, the dogs drive me insane but nope... I dont worry about anything. I love how Kris is making all this really interesting to watch. Normally I would not watch anything this long but Kris always does those funny accents and other things that always get me and I just really love Kris so much! ❤❤ She always gives so much effort.

Hey Kris, I am LOVING this new series. I travel a lot and sometimes just don't have time to watch them until later. Have you considered turning these into a true crime podcast as I would loads of people would be able to listen to them easily and make them more accessible. Love them loads! Hope they continue Xxx

I grew up with this story. I lived a few towns over. Johnathon Dayton HS was part of a regional system that included my HS AL Johnson in Clark. This caused a major disruption of how we all lived back then. I was crazy.

I went to Governor Livingston about 15 years later and we definitely all knew about this, but of course we knew little pieces in that stupid way kids do. Kinda glad our kids today don't have to deal with that "omg you're a satan worshipper" BS.

@@stavia.ummm a lot of evangelicals believe that because I’m a Democrat, I drink the blood of babies. QANON and the trump cult believe a lot of crazy shit, so don’t be so sure. Look at pizzagate for example. Comet Pizza doesn’t even have a basement.

Kris is my favourite true crime youtuber from the way she tells it including details from the story but also details that likely happened but were not mentioned in the news, keep up the good work ❤

I love these deep dives so much. This one had me in tears. I hope Kris takes the time to heal a little after… it can’t be easy to do the research needed for these, and I couldn’t even imagine the editing process of these… I’m thankful I got to watch it 🩷

I’ve watched this three times because kris’ humor makes this video 😂 the Jersey accents, also the cop impersonation had me rolling! “License and registration please, do you know how fast you were going? I was hoping you could tell me” 🤣🤣🤣🤣❤️ this content is everything!

I love that you put the s-video jacks conspicuously in the side of the TV just in case people didn't notice this was an old timey CRT set, despite the fact that TVs didn't have the plugs on the side. The jacks would probably have gone into an adapter hanging from a couple of screws in the back.

Kris every time you post one of these murder case/crime deep dive videos i have to click on it as quick as I can to watch it, you really have a talent for keeping the audience engaged and telling the story and in my opinion you do more research than anyone else on KZbin that does this type of video. I think you should do a lot more of these types of videos and maybe even make a separate channel dedicated to the subject. I love all your content so keep up the amazing work because you brighten up the dullest of days for me here in Scotland. ❤ 🏴

Kris, I have basically just throw away over 2 hours watching your True Crime Deep Dives. Best few hours I've had all week too! Btw, this hairstyle, it's fantastic. Not that the others aren't, I just really liked this one. It really gives off that detective/true crime feel IMO
