I definitely agree that Homelander is top2 up there with Havik, He has so many tools imo the character with the most options to open you up with that 3-way mix.. add to that Ferras own mix, lasers for zoning straight n mid, he also has one of the best moves where he dashes towards the enemy from above so it goes over projectiles n punishes then n it leads to full combo, every touch leads into 3way mix.. and just when you think he ain’t got more mix he mixes you with the God-complex air stance into low ground pound lmao

Honestly in my opinion they should make the F4 just be more laggy and a MID. The mix will now just consist of him doing throw/command grab or Overhead kick which is a lot easier to deal with. Plus in neutral you don’t have to constantly be crouch blocking because you’re scared of your toes being clipped. It can still be a phenomenal whiff punish but he can’t just throw it out in neutral or cancel fly into low anymore.

They nerfed command grab on hit confirm. They also nerfed his flight, so you can't do it twice without meter. We were doing 38% unoptimized combos before in the mid screen and that was without kameo or b3

It's not exactly like that. I did some labbing with Jax and I was able to get a second free flight cancel. I did 12 flight 4 dd1 jump 4 dd1 12 dd1 12 throw close Jax then when hl hit the ground I did flight 4 into dd2. It's really weird though because sometimes it costs bar and sometimes it doesn't

It's not much of a nerf considering homelander doesn't use meter for anything else in combos, in zoning he does but with the mixup potential zoning becomes secondary to him. The best way is to make at least one of his options unsafe

I think the risk reward for some character and game mechanics is a problem also. Like up blocks should be removed and just keep things flawless punishable. It also depends on the player, I faced a homelander a bit before watching the video while learning reiko and all he did was zone. He played with the wrong kameo in sareena though so I wasn't at a huge risk of his combos because he didn't know them or just didn't care to try any of them, I still beat him barely and left after the one game

One character, the counterplay is literally don't make a mistake and the other is guess 4 ways every encounter. There comes a point where characters are designed way too broken to stay as they are. The nerfs I recommended keep them strong while making the game in a healthier place imo.

As a livid HL hater, and will probably still be even after he get the nerf he deserves: To hell with this character (and on a more personal note as an Invincible fan, in what world is Homelander allowed to be miles better than Omni-man? No, don't give me the "it's just gameplay and story segregation" thing when both Omni-man and Homelander are DLC characters, and guess who get an Eff-All for a moveset between a planet conquering warrior with thousands of years worth of combat experience under his belt AND a manchild with no actual combat experience because he never fight someone stronger than him in his world?) The fact Homelander can do safe 50/50 into one another-thanks to his almost non-existent recovery frames. And that’s before taking his command grab (like PM Torpedo, that one move that should have been High from the start) and Ferra into account. Also, Air God Complex an inch away from the ground!? Give me a break. 🤷 Crazy how NRS let this guy get away with it about as long as PM, if not longer. His insufferable character on top of having broken frame data also really piss me off, so yeah, it's these two things combined that I absolutely can't stand him and want nothing less than him to get the PM treatment if not even worse, given how much he's been given on a silver platter like a spoiled brat he is.
