The uniqueness of this amp is that it's a middle ground between solidstate and tube amp. It has a character of a tube amp pushed with modified RAT. Imagine a solidstate amp that can actually plays great lead tone and open chords. That's Satan amp. A bass player will love you too, this amps gives a headroom for bass player to fill in and shine. A lot of bedroom players sold it as it's not that bass heavy as dual rectifier and doesn't give that air pump kick in the chest effect, but this amp sounds so good in a mix, especially for 7 string death metal. Test it with passive pickups too, imo this amps sounds so much better with them.

I’m the opposite of the commenters that say to play clean and stuff. The thing I don’t like about modern metal tones is the lack of gain. But my styles of tones are 90’s solid state overblown guitars so yeah….to each their own. I just would like to hear the amp with gain on full lol
@jorge03582 жыл бұрын
To be fair tho, the lack of gain can be intentional for stuff that’s more technical and require precise playing, but I agree the more gain the more crushing the tone

It has only one high gain amp (Bogner Überschall) but the way it reacts to IRs is just incredible. I have never experienced this with Line6, Ampero, NUX, Neural DSP and others. I have loaded IRs from the Kristian Kohle Rainbows and Chainsaws pack and IRs from STL tones Libra. I am in love with every IR I am playing which is usually not the case. I don't know which magic they used but I feel like I have plenty of usable killer guitar tones with just one head. Oh yeah that Randall Satan blew a 30 cent capacitor that took out a 450$ transformer... my mesa certified tech replaced it & eliminatd the remaining capacitors that weren't even needed. There were 4, one of which blew... for some reason they are in the design but serve no real purpose. Amp done great after that, then I bought a savage & sent it packing 2 weeks later 🤙

@TaylorDanley2 жыл бұрын
No probably not. I think when people are like “that amp doesn’t need a boost” they don’t understand why you are using a boost… I’m not trying to add gain, I’m adding that aggression you get by hitting the front of an amp with a hot signal. It’s more percussive compressed and aggressive sounding. Typically I’ll actually dial the gain in the amp back to compensate for any gain introduced by the pedal.

Nice man, consider swapping preamp tubes! I got a 50 watt Diavlo and it's just a monster. I think the tubes in these type of Randall's make a big difference to the gain and tone you get. Mine had some JJs in it when I got it. I swapped out the preamp tubes with some Mullard ax7s and it definitely increases the amount of gain you can dial in with these amps. Enough no boost needed. With the JJs in there it was fizzy and lacked any balls

Im hearing this clicking noise during the palm mutes. Is that what you mean?
@MiroslawBlazek-Gdansk2 жыл бұрын
@@barrygomez5968 No, string buzz is... the buzzing of the the strings, which normally occurs only when you hit the strings too hard or if the truss rod is improperly set up, or if the frets need some grinding. Here, it is audible throughout the whole video (and when boosted, at 7:09 time mark onward, it gets quite extreme), which means that too much of the upper mids and treble from the guitar is getting into the overdriving stages of the preamp. In fact, it's so sharp and distinct that I'm sure this region is heavily boosted in the amp, without any significant low-pass filtering in the high gain channel. Some may like the tone, I'm not a fan of it.
