Correction for the steel type section: Steel types lost their resistance to dark and ghost in gen 6, not gen 5. The overhaul for fairy and those changes mentioned happened at the same time.

Togekiss has always been known as a threatening and annoying Pokemon before Fairy when used excellently. Especially since it has various options with beneficial abilities, tank (bold or calm), offense (modest or timid) or healer can work for it (only if you focus on special attack). Been using it for so long to demolish off the back of my hand.

Togekiss has been an monster since Gen. 6. It started off great in Gen. 4. Than it was an little bit butchered in Gen. 5, but still good. And now an absolute monster in Gen. 6 thanks to it's type change and combined with Serene Grace; it's Hidden Ability, it can wreck havoc.

As someone using an Oblivious Mamoswine, oblivious has been buffed twice. It now stops Infatuation, Taunt, And Intimidate. It's such a powerhouse. It also can set up unhindered stealth rock (no taunt), with a focus sash its monstrous ice shard makes it good as a revenge killer of garchomp/salamence

I think it and really fairy types in general are being over hyped for these games specifically, not in general.

Actually in competitive, The Rotom Forms were OverUsed in gen 4, as they where good at blocking Rapid Spin. But most of them went to lower tiers after losing the Ghost Type. Also Rotom is not available in the main Story.

Yeah ghost is generally a much better typing for it then some of it's counterparts (grass, ice, flying especially wtf), but there were also forms that rose to stardom like Rotom Heat and Rotom Wash, so it's kind of a mixed bag tbh. It's nice to have STAB on your signature move, but at the same time ghosts are just better defensively then the other types they were given outside of water. Do keep in mind that gen 5 power creep caused a lot of things in general to move down, so it's not just because they all lost the ghost type. I think Rotom Wash and Heat would be dominating gen 4 if they had their respective typings tbh. Or at least Wash would be for sure.

Although bdsp doesn't allow you to use rotom b4 the post game you can get the forms as well!

If you get a patch with a lot of grass spouting out, that is a HIDDEN ABILITY patch. It means the pokemon within has a hidden ability there is also the same logic with SHINY patches, which should stand out so you should see it I dont know if they are forever available because I was introduced to these patches watching a "how to get shinies in bdsp guide" and it required a poke radar Edit: Since a lot of people have seen this, I will also point out that when the pokemon battle zooms in on your head, it means the pokemon has at least 2 perfect IVs.

Shinies don't require the radar! It's just faster, you can definitely SR or do full odds random encounters OR shiny charm boosted masuda method (shiny charm only works on eggs which is probably a bug)

@@TheHammerGuy94 Not exactly. Rock types especially Rock Ground like the Geodude and Graveler NPCs love use is still one of the easiest things to slaughter. It's slow, poor SpD, terrible combo. It has a 4x weakness to Water and Grass, a 2x to Fighting, a 2x to Ice, Steel and Ground (the last 3 aren't really prevalent early game). Early game your starter and Budew (Roselia) stomp. Later game you have a ton of awesome choices. The worst that can happen from a Sturdy rock type in game is a Self Destruct and that's later when you should be too strong to matter.

You are the one person that I’ve seen acknowledge that Togekiss and fairies in general might not be super OP in Sinnoh. I’ve been saying for months that there are a massive amount of poison and steel types that aren’t only used by prominent trainers like Byron and Cynthia, but also make up almost every Pokémon used by Team Galactic (also, Cynthia’s Garchomp now has Swords Dance and Poison Jab).

Infernape got a massive buff. Chimchar can learn powerup punch before evolving to a Monferno. And since Infernape's hidden ability is Iron fist, that means you'll have a 60 - 70 based power attack with an attack booster. That is awesome !!! Definitely going to breed for one !!!

Iron fist is only a 20% boost, so powerup punch only becomes 48 base power. It's still a decent move, but iron first doesn't do that much for it.

I can't believe they didn't use the Platinum dex for the Sinnoh remakes. IT'S SUCH AN OBVIOUS THING TO DO! They also didn't make TMs reusable, which have been the standard for 10 years. At the very least you get multiple TMs at a time, but the point is that the whole point of remakes is for them to be remade with all feature of the current generation, not most of them.

Most of the Pokemon I wanted to use for my team are still post game(even in the Grand Underground) The team I intended to have is; Empoleon, Gallade, Rotom Heat, Mamoswine, Tangrowth and Yanmega (Most of these guys are apparently only in post-game, any suggestions please share!)

Try one of Houndoom, Roserade, Vespiquen and or Honchcrow and if you can’t get Gallade (for some reason) try Medicham (used it on my DP team it wasn’t bad)

On another note, yes, some Gym leader rematch after entering to Hall of Fame the first time (and therefore national Pokedex?) Their pokemon will have hidden abilities if it is considered better. In Roark's full team for example, his Ramparados has Sheer Force (since Mold Breaker is announced if the pokemon has this ability, but not Sheer Force)

Bronzong used to only have fire and ground as weaknesses, and one of them gets covered up depending on its ability (heatproof or levitate) now Lucian's bornzong can get rekt with Luxray's Bite attack.

Pokémon with hidden abilities and egg moves and increased IVs can be found in the grand underground. I have managed to catch a perfect attack oriented Bidoof with the ability Simple and the move Skull Bush. With a power herb my Bidoof can gain a double defense stack and additionally deal massive STAB damage in one turn. Plus the double defenses can be further boosted with the move curse

honestly Mr. Mime's fairy acquisition was the biggest one for me. I absolutely forgot about it and that changed (my first) fight with Lucian for the much worse. I ended up losing to Lucian and tried the E4 again with my brain working that time hell though I have to say, I never struggle with the Elite 4 or Champion anymore but BDSP's gave me a run for my money. Hell I only beat Cynthia because I stalled the hell out of her Milotic with Dry Skin Toxicroak and used that time to not only deplete her PP and Full Restores but to heal my own team lmao. Even despite that though only Gyarados was still standing when Garchomp went down this morning

I really enjoy the improved situation for flygon. Defog’s updates in regards to removing entry hazards gave more versatility to countering that set up along with its levitate ability. Dragon Tail can forcefully remove stat boosted pokemon or disrupt other strategies. Iron Tail and Steel Wing can deal with its remaining fairy type and ice weakness. STAB Earthquake is…we all know the earthquake it until it dies strat. The biggest cherry on top though is its stats being relatively sufficient with less pokemon available from later generations, so there’s a lower pool to contest against its 100 base speed and 100 base attack combination. It’s not perfect, but it feels nice.

actually: It's pretty common for 2 generations of pokemon for 1 console generation. since BW and DP was on the DS, it was impractical to have hoenn remakes on the same console, since there will be too many games on one console. and it was originally the case for Gen 1 and 2 gen 9 will still be on the switch whenever that will be.

Poison type as a whole plays a role of trickster/debuffer meaning they were best known for using status moves and afflictions. Why else do you think crobar knows confuse ray, mean look and poison fang or teach it toxic via TM. I don't know if they changed dramatically the moveset of some Pokémon but poison and dark Pokémon were best built for using status moves. and yes i know since gen 4 there were dozen of changes like power creep, physical/special split, actual moves but sometimes i think you should at least try something that is not entirely offensive moves. Some find these tactics fun but I me not so much. Keep making videos Mikey your content is great.

Thought of boxing my starter but after it turned out to be Adamant, I changed my mind. My team so far (Just beat the 3rd gym): -Torterra -Luxray -Houndoom -Gardevoir -Scyther Once I can catch a Wingull, I'll add Pelipper on my team to round it all out. Still gotta evolve my Scyther through trading, though. I plan to use a Togekiss in the postgame, though.

Huge Power Azumarill is actually amazing, it's my go-to water and fairy type in the hard fangames like reborn. I mean, it gets Aqua Tail and Play Rough at level 21 and 25, respectively. It has decent defenses and great HP, which makes up for its low speed. The only reason I could see Sap Sipper is to reduce the risk of a KO with a Belly Drum/Aqua Jet set.

Don't discount Simple Bibarel. It got Swords Dance in Gen 7, so 1 turn +4 Attack, plus Double Team giving +2 Evasion. It also gets Defense Curl (effectively becomes Iron Defense) and Amnesia, which gives +4 Sp. Def.

@@marceloasensiofilho3833 While Moody itself was banned (not for being broken, but for being "uncompetitive" aka luck-based), Bibarel never got past UU in gen 4 (before it had moody). It quickly fell over the next two gens to PU. All uses I could find were as Simple Sweepers or the occasional Baton Pass receiver.

Hi Michael I just had an idea for a future video, "If Alola had Gym Leaders" or "If Galar had an Elite Four". Tbh I really liked that I would like to see those Gyms on Alola mentioned by profesor Kukui (probably mixed with the Trials so the alolan tradition wouldn't be left out) and in Galar's case althought I loved the Championship I always felt that there was missing an elite four (althou we fight four gym leaders). In that case what I would have done is that you had to defeat the elite four when you became a finalist so they could see you were on "their" level to compit for the Champion title, so there could been more fights to get to fight the Championship, kinda like it was on the anime where there were like 5-6 battles to select the new champion.
