Thanks for this! I got a GoPro a couple of months ago and I really like it. Most of my videos are diving ones because naturally you are going to have interesting angles and shots. However, I really struggle with land sports like hiking because I don't see the different angles naturally. I have got to try some of them!

May I give a tip as well? Use 60fps, when moving the camera, especially when carrying out panning. 24, 25 and 50fps result in judder on current 60 or 120Hz TV or computer screens. 30fps is better, but 60fps is clearly best. Try it out yourself and compare! However, close to artificial lighting (50Hz) you may encounter flickering of lights with 60fps. Then you may have to use 25 or 50fps and avoid panning.

Thank you for sharing these very useful tips. I have a couple of questions regarding the shots in the above video. 1) I have fond it very difficult to keep the horizon level correct when trying to shoot at a lower angle while moving. This is especially problematic at the sea horizon. This has ruined a lot of my shots and made them unusable. Do you have any tips for keeping the level correct? Thanks. 2) I guess you shoot in wide mode. How do you make sure that the fish eye effect is reduced. Or do you fix it in post? I guess one tip you mentioned in your video is to avoid vertical panning. But I also have problem with shots moving forward when there is a pole or an edge of a wall on one side making the footage look horribly distorted. Any tips on this would be appreciated. Sorry for the long comment & thanks alot for posting these very useful videos.

1) Not really but on the Hero9 there is new autolevelling function 2) Keep the horizon in the center of the frame. This will lead to straight line

It always depend on what you want to get in the frame. If you want to capture your whole body it might be too short

Just color graded myself in FCPX - no lut. Most shots were taken in 4K/60 - there is a video about the best Gopro settings on my channel - check it out

Can someone please tell me why we need to colour grade? I've only had a Gopro for a few months, used it 3 times in the city and countryside, and even though I simply walked with it, lol, as I knew no techniques and still don't know how to use it properly, I Love the footage I've got! It looks as though you were there and the colours are amazing, even on a cloudy day in London. But now I'm watching film making vids and everyone is talking about colour grading... 😶😬
