I suspect the willmaster got a psionic peak under the hood and realized that there is more than one mind inside of Laudna's head. That and the transformation (which she has probably NEVER seen being a Reiloran) definitely freaked her out.

I love everyone's reaction to Laudna's little Delilah moment but I especially loved Liam's because he is just completely stone-faced and clearly formulating a "Neutralize Laudna" protocol.

19:18 Fun fact: Nudibranchs like the Leaf Shaped Sea Slug have evolved a pretty wild defence mechanism - when they eat Hydrozoids (not specifically Portugese Man o' War but similar species) they steal the stinging cells from their prey and store them, intact, in their dorsal wall to deter predators. That's like something eating you and then selectively moving your eyes, completely intact, from its stomach to its back so that it can look up.

The rules lawyers in chat were doing the best to spoil the moment, but I do like how Matt went with "rule of cool" without trvializing the danger that Otohan brings. THe fact that Otohan can jump 100 FEET in the air is ludicrous.

I'm a DM, I play pretty close to the book, because I do believe rules set stakes that makes compelling tension. But hell nah, totally rule of cool that, such a fun holy crap moment for the story

Idk why people want to rules lawyer so bad. Yes, the wording is that you get incapacitated on the demiplane or you get sent to your own plane so Fearne should've gone to the Fey realm, but who cares, this is much better. Had it gone as written FCG would be dead, and Fearne would've been sent to the Fey Realm and maybe gotten stuck there. Woow, so cool that we follow the rules to the letter and ruin the story and fun with it!

That episode was intense, my friend and I watched it on stream and when it went to the part where fcg use the banishment spell on Otohan and she just used a legendary reaction my friend can't help but scream "ofcourse the prick has a legendary reaction"

Fearne finding a portal to some other plane reminded me of how you can build a nether portal in the Nether in Minecraft and sometimes it takes you to the bottom of the ocean but hey at least you're not in the red dimension anymore

The fact that the literal plan of the Imperium settling on Exandria is 'my god can beat up your god in a fight' shows how shortsighted they are, like they're literally living on the outer shell of its prison you think it's gonna be a smooth awakening? But seriously the threat level is clear; BH will fight Ludinus (Simulacrum Ludinus mind you but they didn't know that) backed by Juggernauts in an active volcano after Fearne and Ashton took a swim in lava but one look at Otohan and her 100 foot leaps and it's get the FUCK out of dodge. Better hope that red moon ping doesn't lead her to this backdoor either this could be a non-tree way to get some allies in.

It impress to me how many peps yet not realize that, the law of cool is a part of a big thing. It's the MOST important rule of it all. All in all, there's a story to be told and even so they prefer to say something about a rule of a boock that SAY that the DM choose whatever the heck they want in his table. Danm! Some peps just don't get it, don't want at least. I love the story that matt and cast are playing and sharing ... helps a lot .. @marisharaygun- One of my favorite things about your videos is the way you do closeups of the reactions of the players: the Laudna invoking Delilah moment, the FCG Banishment moment, the Sea Slug moment. Watching Liam, Ashley, Laura and the others' reactions and laughter is priceless and still one of the biggest draw to watching this wonderfully talented group week in and week out.

My biggest issue with this, and yes, I get every DM runs their games how they want, was that the Banishment on himself would not have worked out like that, by the rules. When you Banish a target, they are incapacitated, and when you are incapacitated, you can't do anything AND you automatically lose concentration on a spell because of being incapacitated. So not only could they not have turned into clouds during that, but the moment FCG banished himself, he would have lost concentration on it, and immediately reappeared. I think at that point, Matt was just giving them an out. Nothing wrong with that if that's what he wanted, but I did feel like it kind of trivialized the intensity of the moment.

Kronos ate his own kids and even that name doesn't imply that he's inherently evil. Something named "Predathos" is a predator? You don't say! Never would have guessed!

Stygimoloch "horned demon from the river of hell" A little on the nose but still better than Predathos. Saurophaganax "lord of the lizard eaters" I mean come ON that's awesome. Beelzebufo "Devil Toad" Zuul Crurivastator - crus, "shank", vastor, "destroyer" or "shin destroyer." Don't try to explain Latin and Greek naming to me, I'm a dinosaur buff. And there are dinosaurs that have cooler names than Matt's ultimate bad guy. Going to the Latin well is also a smidge lazy for fantasy writers these days.

I think it's a very smart use of the combination of Banishment and Wind Walk. After all, acording to Banishment, creatures are incapacitated in the demiplane, but Wind Walk doesn't stand that is an action to start transforming. I would allow it at my table

@@xian_2011 it takes 1 minute where you can't do anything else except transform. And this is not an action? It's just logical that you concentrate on becoming fog and can't think about anything else. You can't concentrate on 2 spells. Yes, it is the DM who decides what is possible and what is not, but by breaking the rules of the game it reduces the stakes and immersion in the game for the audience

Ah, I missed something important on concentration - Being incapacitated ot killed. You loose concentration on a spell if you are incapacitated or if you die (PH, Casting a spell, duration, concentration) So yes, you are right, they broke the rules I would allow it at my table once during the game, however, if I don't catch this rule in the moment Good memory with the rules ^^

@@xian_2011 If a character can't do anything for a minute other than concentrate on transforming, then it's an action. You are doing something. Yes, it’s not written that this is an action, but you can’t transform in battle and simultaneously cast a spell or attack, right? Plus Banishment is a concentration spell, meaning your PC must “concentrate” to keep it going. You can choose to end the spell yourself-but it's also possible for enemies to forcibly break their concentration. that is, you have to concentrate on two spells, while being “banished” yourself. Where you are also incapacitated :) There are too many opposing events.
