Justin is certainly a person who really loves guitar and love to teach. I just got my first guitar a week ago and my fingers are so sore, all I can do now is work on strumming patterns. That will be my biggest challenge. Thank you Justin!

This was hard to do a few days ago but after some practice, it got better and I thought I can't do it too but I just went for it and practiced anyway and now I'm doing it. Not perfect but I'm doing it is the point.

Keeping my strumming hand moving was the one big step forward when I began strumming. Makes things so much easier. I also find it easier to call out the strums I'm playing and not those that I don't. This is a great pattern to start with though.

I can tell my strumming has improved already from following along with you! Really appreciate the time you take to make these videos! You can tell you really think of everything to help!! Only been watching a few weeks I want to say and my strumming is starting to come around!! I’ve watched others videos on strumming, none really helped until I stumbled on your channel! Your teaching and techniques are second to none my friend! Thanks again! Sure you will see me in your comments on other videos in the future! 😂✌️

I don't know why but of all the lessons on strumming - paid for and free - that are available this series, if watched in order, is absolutely the one that works, at least for me.

Hi Justin, what do you think about to combine your shown strumming pattern with a well known song. It would make it easier to implant it to my little brain. Greeting Roggow out of Germany from Werner

I struggled for years to strum on various instruments (banjo, mandolin, ukulele). Playing scales and melodies, no problem. Could not strum. Finally bought a guitar last week and found this series. This is the first video that has made it click and now I can strum!

LOL - I’m dying! Had just gotten back from the gym and was playing out the rest of this video when Justin calls “me” out…”This is a playing along thing. If you don’t have your guitar in your hands, pause the video and go get it.” So busted. So awesome. You’re the best m8!

Man, this is the best possible explanation I've heard for practicing this pattern. As a guitar teacher, I'm really inspired by your way of teaching. I'm looking for examples for my students of songs that use this pattern, any leads? Thanks!

I hope you are passing along his easygoing, “It’s ok to not be ok,” approach to the learning curve. Had a d-bag guitar teacher many years ago that literally yelled at me. Put me off the thing until this new year’s resolution and, subsequently, Justin’s lessons.

Hello, Justin Thank you very much for the lessons. Is there a name in english for a music tune that has no singing in it? I look to learn and to play like this. Without any singing. What I mean is I wish to play tunes where the sound coming from the strings notes alone makes the music. Does this type of playing has a name? My english isn't perfect. Do you happen to have a playlist of tutorials to play self sufficent guitar music in this fashion? Thank you very much for all your rich ressources

Its a Gretch modeled on Malcolm Young's Firebird (that started out as red, then he stripped it, then he took out all the pickups except the bridge). it evolved over the years of their career. I have a Japanese Gretsch Malcolm Young that is modeled on his as it was in the years before he passed away. Its pretty awesome and because of the missing pickups you can see how hollow a Gretsch Jet really is on the inside.

It would be real handy if the lesson number were incorporated in to the title of the video. For example, this one is titled "Seriously, THIS is the BEST Strumming Pattern for Beginners!" It would be so much nicer for it to be "[Beginners 4.4] Seriously, THIS is the BEST Strumming Pattern for Beginners!" Sometimes I get lost as to where I am ... :-(

They're incorporated in the thumbnails. He has a playlist on his channel in which all the lessons are in order. You could add it to your profile, makes things easier.

Okay, so, you are the professional teacher here, but I gotta ask, do you know ANY song which uses the DxDxxxDx and the DxDUxUDx strum patterns? Not saying you aren't teaching these already, but DxxxDxDx and the classical DxDUxUDU are far more common and useful, so much that the first two I mentioned seem rather useless. Great lessons in general, of course, but I'd like to see the reason behind this, in my humble opinion, convoluted way. Thanks!

This is what I needed, my strumming is stiff and I hold the pic to tight and the sound that hear of the strings is 😖 😱 awful. The guitar is tune. Starting to try different sizes of pics . I notice also my back and shoulders are stiff. Crazy 🤪 but true. Maybe I am trying to hard as a beginner. Between making sure I am having my fingers correctly on the strings and strumming. Wondering if my guitars are good or crappy or it's just me. 😆 🤣 lol.
