How often did you have such positions on the board and what are your experiences?

Im only rated 1750 on lichess however I only play the French as black and this video was super helpful. I’ve actually ran into some of the early traps like losing your queen to bishop B5 check. After I had that happen to me once I never let it happen again but it was funny to see you go over the line and I also learned a lot more about the other traps. I’d love to see some QGD stuff or more French defense videos. Great video.

When I played white against the strongest player of my club (with him playing the French), he was always able to destroy my center and I couldn't understand what I did wrong. Now I try to play French with the black pieces (and more elo points) and it seems so difficult to improve with this opening. There are a lot of traps, and just castling too early might cost you the game in some variations. But for me, it's the sign that I need to improve at dealing with these positions and patterns. Thanks for this lesson!

@@Chessfactor The initial variation seems to throw white off as it can develop multiple ways of white is aggressive or passive. I’d like to understand and learn more and I like your videos. My chess coach thinks the French is too passive for my style of play. I want to further my knowledge though.
