Drafting Michael Penix is a good long term move. I think he will start sooner than 3 or 4 years.

@@huescinema in free agency, we desperately needed to address QB. we signed Kirk first before the staff knew they really like MPJ. We did a workout with him early April and that solidified our interest in him. Not only that, IF the Falcons went into draft with Taylor Heineke and some other guy, teams would've definitely gone harder in trading up in front of us to get MP. To sum it all up, Penix will start MUCH sooner than people think, he is a much more explosive QB than kirk is now a very expensive bridge. One more thing lol. If Kirk was truly a QB you could build around, he would still be in Minnesota. Clearly he is not that guy and never was that guy.

@RaichuFTW I 100 percent agree with that last part 😂. Well I can say this. I am really high on penix despite the injuries. The fella has a great arm and like I said in the video, sometimes when you see your guy, you have to take em. 💯

Nah it makes no sense man penix is 24 and Kirk is signed for 4 years 2 years minimum and the deadcap they would get from that out in the Kirk contract is tragic

There is absolutely nothing confusing about this pick. It makes the most sense. Next years QB class is not good. Also, we have cousins so I am sure we will not have this high of a pick going forward. Also, they are going to probably lose some kind of pick with the tampering case. So tell me how this doesn't make sense? We have a young talent playing behind and learning from a 36 year old coming off of a blown achilles. Did it not make sense when the Chiefs drafted Mahomes? Packers drafting Love?

The pick is not confusing. When I say the move is confusing. Why pay all that money for a bridge QB. There are other FA qbs they could have gone after. I like Penix but Kirk at that price for what u are asking him to do is not a good move. The contract structure is also confusing. But I'm rooting for Penix either way.

I like this move. Otherwise, Cousins would be retiring in 4 years and the Falcons would draft a young, inexperienced guy and expect him to fill in Kirk's shoes.
