I just assumed that the sentinels were programmed to attack anything but stop if it can confirm that the entity is human even going so far as self-terminating to prevent further harm to the human. To me there is two reasons as to why Sparky rebooted, either its similar to how you get zombie drones, or the program broke due to the contradicting logic of Cynessa having human blood while being a robot which it probably wasn’t programmed to deal with.

The reason why Sparky's objective changed us because Tessa told him to "be a nice dingo" while he was glitching out, which changed his objective to: "Be a nice dingo"

My theory is that Sparks’s condition is one of a kind. It supposedly destroyed itself because it attacked a human, but somehow, the system was able to reboot the drone when the system itself realised that the blood is like old and dead. But the main reason why it is strange is because it was dead, unless, the host itself was dead, but the core was still functioning. Meaning that whatever is inside sparky is perhaps another version of the AS, one more tame yet has the ability to revive dead drones.

What this could objectively mean that is the solver’s ability of reviving dead robots, not only applies to drones and disassembly drones, but also to sentinels other robots possibly designed by JC Jenson or other organisations that uses the same tech as it is effective.

Actually when we see sparky's pov his objective is glitching between kill all ai and be a nice dingo so thats probably why he wasnt so agressive towards v, also red eye colour might just be an indicator that he got messed up and should be serviced

I guess a couple things that I thought of, mostly head cannon, are: - (My own headcanon with no real evidence) Sparky goes after Lizzy because V told it to protect her. This explains why it doesn't join the fight and specifically goes after Lizzy over anyone else and also why it "soft mouthed" Lizzy instead of just ripping her apart. - Sparky freaks out when it bites Tessa probably because of one of the two theories mentioned (can't tell or sees Tessa/CYN as a robot) but when it see's blood self-terminates as the program it has calls it an error, meaning it thinks it bit a human. This also immediately turns the interior of its screen red as it's experiencing an error. On top of that, it's also getting conflicting orders as it's main objective is fluctuating between "Eliminate AI targets" and "Be a nice dingo", which it immediately "failed" on both counts. I'm guessing the reboot is because the program realized that the blood was not human, or at least CYN's blood, because when it see's "Tessa's" blood later, it marks it as "WARN.NULL" which is essentially a dead giveaway it's CYN. Or the reboot is a fluke and it figured out the rest afterwards. The infected drones do leak blood or blood-like fluid when damaged, as shown by both CYN and Uzi, and if it's just Tessa's skin and maybe some other parts like the ribcage and bones or maybe even organs/veins, I don't think that much blood could be from the Tessa portion of the body, meaning it's still CYN leaking through the suit. It's not like Tessa is producing blood anymore, it would have to be replaced by CYN/Solver making it not human blood anymore. - Also the Sentinels jump at Intern Mitchell but just kind of chirp at him as he runs past, possibly because they don't recognize him, or they're possibly just excited and aren't actually attacking him, kind of like dogs on a leash waiting outside a store. Mitchell's reaction doesn't tell me pretty much anything because he's already freaked out, so whether or not he's just jump-scared or afraid they'll bite him based on experience is kind of up for debate. (It would kind of make sense why they're chained up in the first place, maybe precaution while they're wearing the suits?) - Who knows, maybe the conflicting directives and failing them just straight up gave it free will after losing it's purpose/failing its directives and also failing to self-terminate?

I'm actually on the more headcanon-y side of the theory on why Sparky attacked Tessa in the first place. It can be combined with the "humans in suits confuse them". Tessas spacesuit looks very different from the suits we see most of the humans working on Copper-9 in. They have more linear, colored suits with gas masks, not the black astronaut helmet Tessa wore, or the more segmented design of the spacesuit. It might've seen "Tessa" as confusing because of her spacesuit which sports similarities to the Disassembly Drones (toned body, black round face with white lines etc.) And then there's the aspect it might've sensed there is a drone and when it bit "Tessa"... well, there was *blood*. Something no Drone should have. When "Tessa" spilled blood for the Sentinels they turn to Sparky and seemingly wait for it to intervene, not knowing how to proceed with this weird "human-drone" that triggers their AI target - but has human blood.

It’s shown that the sentinels have a higher raw intelligence then the drones being able to think creatively and even beat v at chess (in the credits) although they aren’t civilized and have a more simple objective based program. I think it’s more than possible that sparkie knew it was Cyn and not Tessa after all they were designing with the sole purpose of identifying and destroying ai targets. As for the sentinels that attacked the intern I don’t know for sure but they were chained up and the other sentinels were either free roaming or in cells to be released so maybe those ones were corrupted or something.

I will just point out that drones can improperly reboot, resulting in the Absolute Solver being active within them. Not OUR Absolute Solver, but A version of the Absolute Solver. This is likely what happened with Sparky. It destroyed itself, resulting in an improper reboot since it was not properly disassembled. This also checks out since we see Sparky doing things that other Sentinels cannot do. Such as being peaceful, or regurgitating disassembly drone limbs to use them in combat(That last one in particular would require a superintelligence, since it wasn't built for that task).

Back when EP-6 released I had a theory that Sparky was a "true" zombiedrone. Like the red part of the pie-chart from the beginning of EP-5, and I still think it's a plausible explanation for his behaviour now that the series is over.

Thanks for the clarifications. Character motivations are so confusing in the series, so videos like this are absolutely necessary. You would have to watch each episode several times in slo-mo in order to even understand the main thread of the plot. Most of the vital details get established in just a few frames or a single sentence. I guess you're supposed to take notes as you watch.

my theory about Sparky, is that red eye mode is like a specified target predictor mode, in said mode it's supposed to mentally adapt to any of the obstacles between it and it's target, and the default blue eyed mode is most likely very mentally stunted, and can only recognize that it should let's say "gimp an elevator" when ether told to by a red eyed sentinel or when they're in the proximity of a red eyed sentinel and the errors is caused by taste sensors on it's toung tasting something off about the blood and a hint of oil, and it's optical sensors recognizing human blood coming from "tessa" these factors compounded by him freaking out and slamming his head against the wall, caused him to go into auto reboot mode, and do to the large majority the errors taking place in blue eyed mode, blue eyed modes code was corrupted by the sudden shut off, and deemed unable to be booted into, so Sparky default booted into red eyed mode which was lightly corrupted but not to the point that it was unusable. and do to red eyed mode's mental adaptability he realized that after V took out all his fellow sentinels and had him in a headlock he couldn't win so why not be friends, and the reason he never went for the kill with Lizzy was he knew that V would be mad at him, so terrorize was the best option

My head canon is that since sparky ate the blood of tessa, (since cyn was wearing her corps) and cyns and tessas bodys looked almost like they fused, maybe a part of tessa got into sparky. This would also explain the sentinals going from idiots to able to fight with swords and carry stuff inside themselves to use later. Sry if this is confusing lol

I personally think that Sparky bit Tessa because scanned through and saw what was under, but upon biting, and seeing the blood, it made him freak out. Upon his reboot though, I think he saw what was really going on inside of Tessa, and was going straight for her, seeing her as anomalous. This can be seen in 6:11 when he scans Tessa and sees “ERR” “WARN.NULL”, Null, the result Uzi got when scanning Tessa in ep 6, or Doll when scanning Uzi in ep 3. He saw the solver, and even tried shooting only at Tessa while the other sentinels went for all of them. Also with how Sparky shot only that Tessa, till V interfered and had sparky fight her instead of Tessa. He only fought V because she was protecting Tessa, not knowing what was really inside, or even helping the sinister being it self. However, sometime between her sacrifice and episode 8, something happened that got them on the same. Perhaps V found a way to learn what was really happening? And maybe Sparky saw something in V for sacrifice herself for her friends, mainly Uzi and N, which resulted in V literally riding Sparky to battle against J

Nori did change everything i thought i knew, when it was revealed shes alive, i was proccessing it for the rest of the eposide even when Uzi got possesed, or sacficing herself. Also she should of been on that poster, though she didnt do much in the final battle. If anything, but she was the reason the fight could even happen, as Uzi wouldn't of been able to even face Cyn without her guidence Shes the one who told her how to stop Cyn, provided a wepon thats not a once per 30 minutes type thing (the picaxe), and she was the one who told her how to avoid getting controlled again. The things that you need to know and have going up agianst Cyn or anything by that matter, she gave Informed her Cyn's weaknessess, how to advoid her stregths, giving her more of a chance of winning and she did. It wouldnt of been possible without her

I have a question, do worker drones eat robotic animals as in translation to humans eat animals? I mean Disassembly drones canonically do because V ate one of those cricket things in episode 3. And I think I heard somewhere the dd are waterproof however I am not 100% sure of that so take that with a grain of salt, but if they are I’m assuming their waterproof to catch robotic fish.

here's yet another example from the list of my nitpicks of Episode 8: the freaking robot dinosaur character's (who's species has been shown to be able to kill Disassembly Drones, who are damn near effectively invincible) only purpose being using one of the other characters who were also sidelined as a chew toy and driving a bus instead of doing something during the fight with Cyn or J. like seriously, the only thing Sparky does in the fights besides chomp on Lizzy is deflect two bullets and use a laser cannon once. they cast him aside just like Khan, Thad, Lizzy, and J, when they could have done some cool shit with him against Cyn. could the bootloop ability work on her? What about him being able to cough up discarded Disassembly Drone arms to use as somehow-still-functioning weapons? or literally anything else? nah. we couldn't do that. Sparky used up his one badass-moment token when V was revealed and briefly rode on his back.
