Trespasser: Jurassic Park is a 1998 survival game that deserves a remaster. This was and still is a very influential game but because it was released unfinished it became a controversial title that failed to meet expectations. STILL with the news of JP: Survival now getting a trailer this old 90’s title could be resurrected and bring in a lot of attention to the Jurassic World brand. Set after The Lost World and coming out before JP3, this game was inspirational to Half Life 2 and would even be perfect for VR like Aftermath was!

Trespasser did something which a lot of Jurassic Park games never did for years. How a concept like this has gone untouched is baffling. A Jurassic Park horror survival seems so simple to do! Plus referencing other dinosaurs like Cyclops and a Novel Carnosaurus maybe, with a mix of Jurassic Park 3 Raptors would be incredible!

Trespasser was very unfinished (good example is the unfinished Dinosaur Emotion system), so seeing not only an HD Remake of the game but also a remake that includes these scrapped concepts and fixes a lot of the broken systems would be VERY cool.

A remaster of Trespasser would be AMAZING! I have commented before in the lets play, Trespasser was a game I played over and over as a kid. The bugs and quirks gave it character and I would love to see it rebuilt with improved graphics, physics, etc. I really hope this leads to something amazing in a few years!

Trespasser really was a game ahead of its time. The first game to use ragdoll physics, and the Hammond speeches are like early audio logs we see often in games today. I think it deserves to finally become the game it originally intended to be. But even if not a full remake, a remaster with some AI and QoL updates and including cut content would be good too.

Worth noting, that the dinosaur movement is generated with their AI using inverse kinematics, so if the AI is messy (buggy), so is the movement it generates.

I also strongly believe that the arcade games seriously needs to be ported to modern consoles & PC since those games deserve to be played again and not on a expensive machine and/or MAME that isn't always easy to get working. this would include both the Sega arcade games, Konami's JPIII, and Raw Thrills Jurassic Park from 2014.

JP1 esp needs to be ported properly since outside of MAME, the only way to play it is the arcade machine itself which is not only rare but an expensive machine due to the amusement park ride type mechanics.

This game has sound recordings of Richard Attenborough narrating parts of the island and are closest thing in the Jurassic Park universe to really capturing that essence the first movie really had. It would be CRIMINAL not to use these in any other property let alone a remaster for the game.

A Trespasser Remake would be great! A game studio that found the source code of the game sounds like a step in the right direction. This along side with upcoming releases like Jurassic Park Survival and the Fan Game by Krenautican, JP Operations, now titled Cretaceous Kingdom is a fantastic sign that we might be coming into a new era of Jurassic Games and content! Just imagine if we got a remastered version of Trespasser and it turns out to do really well, and maybe the game could even have brief events where it ties in with the Lost World Jurassic Park movie, but the main girl character is simply a passerby to these events and doesn’t get to actually participate in it and observes from a distance, like for example the girl character is walking along a stream in the woods and then you hear Dieter Stark’s screams as he’s getting attacked by Compies, but by the time you arrive to where you heard his screams you see the compies feasting on his dead body but then you throw something to scare them away and then you can collect anything he might’ve been carrying in his pockets, imagine the potential for possible Trespasser sequels like a story based on JP3 and the beginning of Jurassic World after the events of the movie, plus you’d be able to encounter the Spino in that game because we know it didn’t die at the end of the movie as well, and the story could also follow up to how we got to Jurassic World, and then finally, a game based on dinosaurs around the modern world that takes place after Jurassic World Dominion where we could see many animals that appeared in the movie, even the possibility of there being more than one Giganotosaurus besides Zeb which may have more competent threats by comparison, since Zeb would be dead at this point after all because the game takes place after Dominion, also potential legacy animals like the Spinosaurus & JP trilogy Velociraptors that didn’t get to appear in the movie, and also the possibility of animals that have never appeared in the movies or the series in general. It could be a great trilogy that could fill in the gaps that the movies don’t really explore which also feeling new in a sense.

The concept of Trespasser is something that i think of one of the greatest pieces of JP History. To see it come in a finished version, completely fixed and maybe reworked in some aspects would be an absolute treat. And i would love a playthrough from you if it should come, the greatest JP KZbinr and the most rememberable JP game is just too good of a combination.

It would be awesome to have small to medium dinosaurs be able to go in and out of the buildings like they wanted in the original game, Just imagine having a Raptor or Dilophosaurus follow you into one of them and you had to figure out a way to get out stealthily while you're being stalked/hunted

As long as it keeps a "What's going to pop out at me next?" or "What's making that stomping sound?" sort of terror, while also keeping some puzzles, I'll be fine. Those two combined simultaneously would definitely scare me. For example: You're trying to figure a way to progress, stacking some crates or something, then you hear a chirping nearby. You think, "Hey, that might just be a bird or something," but you look, and it's a Compy or Dilo or something. Imagine a full-grown Dilo, twenty odd feet long, just looking at you. Watching. Waiting. Analyzing. Sizing you up as prey. Absolutely terrifying. They also should have certain dinosaurs go after each other. Raptors vs Triceratops, or Rex vs Stegosaurus, or Rex vs Brachiosaurus/Mamenchisaurus, just as a few examples.

I grew up in the '90s like all the melenials did, I was a Dino nerd who read up 'en studied all about them for the fun of it. I even watched blockbusters & dinosaur documentaries, & collected dinosaur toys; it was just a fun time being a jurassic park fan, but somehow I actually missed this game. This is something that I would have played when I was a kid, be that "IF" I had one of them old school boxy looking computers from back then. Would love to see trespasser get remastered & if it came out for the switch Nintendo 'en all the other videogame consuls we have today, I would still wanna play it upon its release. But they gotta fix all them quirks with the moving animitronics this game had, do something about the weird dates for trespasser [I mean fix it], finish with editing the missions that were left unfinished prior to its origional release, & I would actually like to see some of the scenes from the lost world novel to be somehow incorporated into this game; like the camoflauging Carnotaurus scene from night. I think that would be the most awesome jurassic park experience ever, but I'll have to hold my breath 'till after jurassic park survival comes out. Who knows, maybe that game will even surpass the legendary trespasser...🤔hmm.

I think Trespasser would have been a bigger game in its time if it had also come out on the consoles at the time. I never got to play it because my family didn't own a gaming PC, or even a regular one. Not many people owned home computers back then like nowadays. By the time I was old enough to buy my own PC the game was super old and outdated.

for it to be truly good, the source code would mostly be irrelevant now other than as a reference. it should totally be made from the ground up rather than a source code asset upgrade! there's so much potential there for current-era code and animation making it as revolutionary as it was back in the day, with advances in ai scripts making the dinos unpredictable and scary as possible. it'd be amazing.

I beat the game back in the day, and despite the clunky controls it had so much good going for it. The voiceovers and narrations were perfect, as well as sound effects. Best part was you felt immersed like you were actually there, and the quiet walking around parts helped build the tension for when you’d run into yet another predator. Please remake for the Switch and I will gladly buy it! 🙏🙏🙏

Besides Trespasser getting a possible finished and updated remaster (probably the mechanics would be more similar to Half-Life Alyx to an extent), one Jurassic Park game I'd like to see is one that takes place in the book canon. I'm not even going to go into a lot of detail because I know many have read the OG book, but many awesome and tense moments such as the Raptors outsmarting Ellie and Muldoon (and killing Wu) and Muldoon and Gennaro tracking the main Tyrannosaur were just some moments in the book I want to see in video game format.

Oh boy.. You let your excitement get the best of you lol. I'm a fan of Trespasser.. I played back in the day and I loved it for what it was even with all it's shortcomings. If a remaster comes out, I will buy day 1. Pre order even. But there is no way this would be a massive success that would bring any significant of money to Universal. It's a very niche game with bad reputation that would make neglectable earnings at best. Secondly.. it would not be an easy task as you say. This game would need a lot of work to bring it up to acceptable modern standards. The arm controls with the mouse would need to be translated to controllers in order to work on consoles and even that wouldn't be enough for new audiences. Some redesigned would be required and a hybrid controller scheme would be necessary in order to make the gameplay more functional with way to change between free hand motion and locked traditional fps gunplay on the fly or something to make the game more function. Restoring missing levels? Sure.. if the data is there and all it's needed is to polish unfinish map, then that would be possible. New dinos? No way. DLC? Not a chance. Bringing more of the actors to record additional lines? Way over budget. Take 10 steps back, mate. lol.. .we will be luck if we get a remaster 1:1 at all. Still, it will be for preservation purposes and to appeal to the cult following. No matter what, the game will still have average to low score reviews and younger fans will not like it at all. Back in the day, the game has it's innovative mechanics and incredibly advanced physics as it's main hook. Even if you didn't like the game itself, you were still impressed by it's tech. Today, there is nothing going for it other than nostalgia. I think this game would be better off as a fully exclusive VR title. What it was trying to accomplish only became possible and fully realized in VR.

I don’t think a remaster would be a good idea. But a retelling leading the events of JP3. With people aware the events of the lost world with people being curious about the island and going there. With Ann landing on the island not knowing ingen being on the island working on the new dinosaurs. She stops ingen but causing a disaster for releasing the spinosaurus in the wild. With dr wu making his appearance and announcing they have to leave the island now. While Ann finds a different way to escape the island as ingen left her there for trespassing. Hint “ trespasser.” She would have to survive her way back home. Facing all dinosaurs and final boss battle the spinosaurus giving it another reason to hate man. As she lands in Costa Rica. She was taken by ingen security force by a young Vic Hoskins, last words Ann hears before it is cut off is “ masrani can’t know what’s going on in site B”
