Humanity has a love hate relationship with the Ocean. As it has plagued us and helped us all our existence, it commands a deep respect if you wish to survive. One of the reasons this respect must exists, is simply for the animals that live within. What were originally thought to be tales of monsters, have actually turned out to have a bit of truth to them. As a cruise ship sets off it would be besieged by one of the creatures of old. But how has this animal evaded detection for so long? Lets discuss that in todays episode

Actually, fridges and freezers need a drainage point, so it's not completely air-tight this is required for when they hit defrost cycles to drain away excess water Otherwise, you would just have a giant block of ice form.

@@JCTheSniper15 I used to work at a restaurant in a job that had me spend a lot of time in both the refregerator and cooler. From my experience while chilly comercial grade fridge rooms are not likely to make you freeze to death, just be rather uncomfortable as commercial fridges run between 40F and 45F for food safety reasons. The time I was locked in the freezer accidentally is another matter almost immediately, never mind the time it took to get someone to notice I had been locked inside. One is like being outside without a jacket in the low 40s, the other is 'I am going to die' reptile brain activating in short order.
@JCTheSniper15
@JCTheSniper15 12 күн бұрын

As much as her being locked in the fridge was a death Sentence, it ended up saving trillian. The octalus hunted by sensing movement. She was unconscious in a sealed and soundproofed environment. My only thought on this film, which I love as does my husband is this. Clearly it. Started grabbing passengers when they ran out towards the lifeboats. Why didn’t more passengers hide up in the higher decks of the ship. Some could have hidden in storerooms or areas where there were lots of background noise. I would have hidden with my husband in a linen store. We have been on a cruise before. No pipes or toilets and linen could be used to insulate the room so as long as your quiet there wouldn’t be any movement.

I really liked this movie, which sadly didn't get the recognition it deserves. Another movie that doesn't get the recognition I feel it deserves, also from the 90's, is the movie, "Virus", which was adapted from the comic by the same name, has a good cast including Alec Baldwin & Jamie Lee Curtis, also takes place on a big ship in the open sea, and also features monsters. The effects are mostly physical with some stop motion puppetry, as this was made in early 90 which hadn't yet perfected the art of CGI, but I personally appreciate practical affects. Some people hated it but I loved it.

Only a few good movie lovers remember "Virus"! You can't beat that plot. I remember "Leviathan" which cast Ernie Hudson from "Ghostbusters", and Hector Elizondo from "Beverly Hills Cop 3". These kinds of 90's horror movies had incredible storylines, and characters. This is why these movies can be rewatched over and over and enjoyed the same way as when we enjoyed them in the 90's. Deep Star Six was a good one as well but not like "Deep Rising" and "Leviathan". These movies got it all going for them. Great storylines, a talented cast, a mix of horror and comedic scenes and perfect special affects of that time. I must add "Relic" was another good one.

It's just a fun monster movie, that's all it needs to be. Treat Williams is awesome. Legendary quotes like "Now what?" & "Chick with the muscles". We also got Sagat, Kano & Jean Grey. Stephen Sommers knows how to make a popcorn movie like The Mummy, so enjoy the ride while Jerry Goldsmith's score plays throughout the movie.

This may not have been a blockbuster at the time but it was a really fun movie. I've always said about your videos that I love how you add real-world biology to creatures of all kinds, whether it was silly to begin with or something that had thought put into it, you always add depth to movies. Your videos are visually appealing with fun images but also ones that explain the science. Your narration is also energetic and funny as hell. A creature that I always loved was the Shark Man from Peter Benchley's Creature. I know that Peter Benchley's Beast would be much more appropriate but...

Watched this movie on TV when I was a kid. Scared the hell out of me. Especially the scene where the captain gets eaten. Fun fact about the guns used, it’s a fusion of a mini-gun and a Calico pistol. I absolutely love Calicos. Their design is very “unique”. If you showed one to a random person they’d probably immediately think it’s a toy laser gun. Their .22 pistol has a 100 round capacity drum magazine. You can make the argument that while the gun itself cannot have a feasible 1000 round mag, it is not difficult at all for one person carry 1000 rounds of ammunition.

Roanoke, me boi. I, too, was deeply saddened when the lady repairing the boar was instantly dragged off and gone. It's a part of film that always sat wrong with me throughout the ywars. My second regret was mixing this up with Mercury Rising at the video rental store and finding myself exposed to weapons grade levels of Autismol that rivaled the kid from Jurassic World and the other one from The Predator. Reading the plot explains the plot.

Octopus has 5 official plural terms... It depends on where you are speaking English! Octopus, octopuses, octopi, octopods, and octopodes. Octopus is just easiest for everyone to get and not fight over, lol. This reason alone gives these cephalopods a huge ups in my mind!

I spent 8 years in the 82nd 1st/504th and a number of years with Blackwater, Triple Canopy and then Dynacorp. Needless to say you will get narcissistic egotistical cavemen in any given profession, that being said on all of the teams I was operational with we didn’t do anything as remarkable as the PMC’s in this movie (who have the worst kit, TTP’s, communication and movement skills, etc I’ve ever seen). Great channel by the way man! It’s become my go to for its unique content that’s well written and hilarious at times! Forgot to add, the Calico uses a 9mm helical magazine that works here and there in my very limited quantifiable experience.
