I think it arrogant to make claims about whether or not a specified person, clergy or otherwise, will be in Heaven. Only God knows. The Bible clearly stated that even the elect will be deceived… Why not call out, by name, the preacher who is in error AND expose the error. It’s not necessary to make judgement on the messenger; judgement is reserved for God. Calling out error is a responsibility of every follower of Christ… connecting the error to the preacher is helpful to those who are not able to discern for themselves and who may be sitting in one of those congregations where error is espoused by a respected minister. Just a thought 💭

My false teacher was Beth Moore. She said many things that were absolutely biblically sound and much of those teachings, I remember. However, there was always something about her that didn’t sit well with me, and her narcissism was something I saw, but didn’t recognize until later. Now, her heretical teaching on CRT, preaching to men, spiritual gaslighting those who didn’t “mask up” etc… No. I threw away all of her studies.

Yes, I threw her workbook away just recently. The narcissistic traits were shining through. When speakers/'preachers' are full of charm and love to ramble on and on, that is a huge red flag for me.

At the end when Justin said pray for him that he would comport himself in such a way as to never bring shame on Jesus Christ …. That touched me so much! So sincere and humble. There is nothing wrong with charismatic that is solidly grounded biblically. Unfortunately a lot of churches and pastor give charismatic a bad name. There is a reason the enemy does want Christian to operate in the fullness of the Holy spirit and will rather we walk in defeat. Genuine anointing takes Grace, holiness, sacrifice, obedience, prayer and fasting and a lot of people fake it instead of walking with God, but that doesn't mean it is not real. Baptism of the holy spirit is real, read Acts. Gift of the spirit is real, read 1Cor12. We are call to operate as a holy sacrifice to our God Jesus Christ and the spiritual gift that comes with baptism of holy spirit empowers us in holiness, prayer and other aspect of spiritual life. "Not by might nor by power but by my Spirit (GOD), " Zechariah 4

Shouldn't a person who wants to call out a false teacher, contact that false teacher in person, on phone, email, or letter and share your concerns and Scripture references, pray for them first, and if they refuse to repent or at least pray about and read Scripture you have mentioned to them. Then, if they don't repent or acknowledge and agree to study further, keep praying for them, and get others who agree with Scripture to converse with them. Give them a chance to repent in private before going public. Praise God if they do repent!I believe the Bible teaches that we all fall short, so we need to do any corrections in humility, in private at first, and if they don't change, then publicly. I believe this is biblical.

WOW! I was once burned in a ministry with a "give til it hurts" mentality of the pastors. Years later, two brothers who ran their ministry, ended up having a "falling out". The older brother went out on his own, and started his own ministry. Sadly, he died shortly afterwards.... The younger brother being too stubborn, could've made amends, but allowed his own pride to get in the way. Ray Comfort IS A GREAT EXAMPLE OF A TRUE Christian. I highly recommend watching any of his videos

I have been aware of these false teachers and I know the Holy Spirit showed me through scriptures. You really have to ask the Holy Spirit for guidance and conviction to stay in God's realm. My church was divided in the 80’s over the prosperity doctrine. The last split my church was stolen from us. We walked away. The church closed 2 years after this attack. The enemy opened a new church and all the dividers are there. There truly is a remnant. …it was very painful but growth in knowledge of the Lord. We must know the God we serve. And we must make the right choice when it comes to the suffering of the cross. I learned many of these people did not want to bend the knee and used the prosperity doctrine as an excuse. Im so happy to hear this finally being called out.

We continually grow and change course and make corrections as Christians as we study God's Word. I walked through a minefield of false teachers when I was a baby Christian but Jesus "kept me" as he promised, and has never left me in error. It continues on our entire life as believers. Knowing the Word of God is the essential thing for discerning truth from error in teaching. It is the "sword of the Spirit". Christians are defenseless if they do not know the Bible well.

I am a n avid listeners of many pastors members of the Ligoniers Ministries and others that mostly preach the gospel and Bibles truths. I can testify that the Holy Spirit guides into the truths of God, I was born in Italy and of course in a catholic family and environment, never I had opened or owned a Bible until as a teen , after my family moved to Mexico, another basically a catholic country, I never felt that confession to a priest was a strange think to do, and very rarely I did it. I was raised very strict and morally sound I was in schools runner by nuns so , I lived very innocently believing all their teachings and the gospel was clear to me , but I was not studious enough to realize all their biblical errors but the Lord brought a man in my life that was not catholic and I started studying with him the Bible and my mind was guided by the Holy Spirit , to see things that were wrong in my Catholic Church so I started attending his Adventist church.The Sabbath verses Sunday was very deciding in convincing me that I could not be a Catholic any longer, but guess what, I converted but I found in other of their beliefs errors. The Holy Spirit opened again my mind to search and after many years of staying in this denomination, I follow the Spirit guidance and with my husband allowing me to follow my spiritual search for the perfect , biblical beliefs and maybe church, I stopped attending the SDA church. I have grown spiritually in the studying earnestly my Bible and listening and reading Christian Pastors, theologians and teachers, I have peace and joy in the Lord because He saved me. The Holy Spirit in all my Pastors hearing sermons, shows me what is right or wrong in their preaching.Yes! There is a great number of false preachers out there but I am not deceived, and” Faith alone, Scripture alone and Jesus Alone are my life assurance of His Salvation and Heaven. I am a child of God! Thank Lord!✝️❤️ I love You with all my heart, mind , soul and strength.

As believers it's only right we should expose waywardness and downright wickedness. How else are we to know and help others to know? (Logically, it's right to do so, because as brother Justin would say, 'just a little common sense would go a long way in clearing a lot of this stuff up').

I have also watched Joyce Meyer for years. She has a lot of good teachings and is an accomplished author. Once in while, one might take a second listen to a particular point, but she started out at the bottom and i think the teaching is in her soul, money or no. I had 2 coworkers, born again Christians who shared my passion for the Christ. Like me they were raised Catholic. I left the church because I had been betrayed..the Catholic church kept me from the Bible, the rhemakk Word of God. My 2 friends decided to remain in the church ..it was their mission field...to lead others out of religion into a personal relationship with Jesus. Kathy the older once said something to this day that I consider so incredibly profound. She said " we honor Mary as the mother of Jesus but even Mary had to accept Jesus as her Lord and Savior. I myself was saved through a dream at the age of 8 ..I woke up weeping knowing that it was only Jesus's sacrifice on the cross and not works that saved me. He became my Savior that night...but Lordship didn't come until I was 22 and starting reading the Bible myself ( big no no in Catholism then).Up to that point it was the Catholic church which loaded over my life.

I have a serious spiritual question that no one can answer me. This pastor was born with C.P., which affects the body st birth for life, but is allowed not only in church, but as a leader. We were a pastor's family for many years until she was operated on for a serious brain tumor at 39. This left her in some of the same shape, paralysis, tremor, dependence on others. The flock turned on her so viciously, they crucified her. My dad started having low key affairs for the first time to distance himself from her. His resentment got so dangerous we ran from our own home forever. The church calls this paralyzed man a pastor. The church calls my mother, head of women's studies and counselor to all women pubished by God or possessed by demons until we ran away. Please please explain to me how that worked. This will haunt me the rest of my life.

God is the ultimate JUDGE- He sees & knows all. The BIble tells you how to judge a prophet. If you are wrong & defame a pastor, prophet or evangelist, you are hurting & damaging God's child. A Father does not tolerate having his child harmed. Read the Word, & pray for decernment.

Thanks! This was a fruitful discussion. Thank you for re-airing it. In my "church" we were told that we cannot correct the pastor; but rather pray that God corrects the pastor for us. What is the proper way to go about approving and rebuking false doctrines? Are children allowed to correct their parents? Are women allowed to correct brethren? Are wives allowed to correct husbands? Regarding the difficulty of rejecting the spiritual authority and/or close bonds when our eyes are open to the false doctrine tied to it/them. This is my struggle. But not in the way that you guys gave examples. For me, I think it's pretty obvious that I've been in a cult. But it's so hard to really come to full terms with what that means. I don't want to believe that many, if not all of them, may be lost. I don't want to believe that I was deceived to the extent that I was. I still dither on calling it a cult. So I have to remind myself that Yeshua told us that we have to hate our father and mother as a metaphor. And that his true family are not the congenital ones, but the ones that do the will of his Father in heaven. Blessings.

I saw a video on home (or house) churches recently. People can be hurt there or in a formal setting of course. But maybe you would consider this. Christians come together for some prayer, praising the Lord and a discussion on a scriptural topic. I think that is basically the concept. A quick word on correcting people. If you correct someone, especially a teacher, it doesn't mean that person will receive the correction. It is best to be led by God in this as much as possible.

@@user-iz8np3vv4i hi, 87. Thank you. There needs to be a head leader to shepard the church. In a small group meeting I don't believe there has to be a leader. I heard a number of people say they don't like correction. It's alarming because Psalms tells us that the person who does not like correction is not wise. How can a leader not like correction? Such a strange place I've been in.

Refusing to be corrected as a Pastor is that Pastor is not a mature Christian. God expects His followers to bring it to the leaders of the church. Then they discuss it with the Pastor. God explains this in the bible. You're in a religion and God hates religion. You want a relationship with God. He is above your Pastor and husband. Jesus is the only way to God. Ask the Father to give Revelation of what you want taking care of. God will humble us from being arrogant and prideful.

@@user-iz8np3vv4i I’m glad you said that because when I said God told me to leave the church I attended for over 30 years, some people said I should tell my pastor what he did wrong so he could correct it. The problem is the pastor is not the type to take correction at all. If he knew someone was leaving that church he would tell them they’ll never be welcomed back. He said that to a couple I knew and a few years after they left and went somewhere else, when the man got in a car accident and almost died, pastor stopped a board member from even visiting him in the hospital or at his home. This man and that board member had once been friends. When Pastor said you’re never welcome back he means it. He’s mean-spirited and holds grudges. He showed signs of that from the beginning, but gradually he got worse. I figured with the praying I and some others were doing, if he still didn’t listen to God correcting him, he’s not going to listen to me. We are not obligated to stick around when they start going off the rails. To stick around shows that we support whatever they’re doing.

Gentlemen, in respect of the "who" should call out these heretical, prosperity preachers; shouldn't another criteria for such a person be that they MUST first be without sin, as JESUS declared at the gathering of those hypocrites who claimed to have caught the woman in the act of adultery?! Besides the fact that they caught her; where was the other person she was involved with? But more importantly, this criteria seems to be missing from both you and your guest as you, apparently, are violators of GOD'S 10 COMMANDMENTS! JESUS declared, "If you're guilty of one of these, then you're guilty of all!" So then, where do you stand & preach on The 4th COMMANDMENT; "Remember to keep The SABBATH HOLY......." And it seems to me from my search, that the 7th day Saturday, is The SABBATH to which JESUS spoke, in both the Old & New Testament Scripture. Is there a beam in your eye? And, please don't for a moment think that I'm condeming the, obvious BIBLICAL Instruction to do so!

N.B. Calling them out by name is not enough -- the error of their doctrine MUST be made clear. Otherwise, there is great risk of blaspheming and slandering those who are in fact SOUND in the doctrine. NEVER forget that.

Constantine changed it to the venerable day of the sun, a pagan worship day. God never changes His laws. My husband and I believe on the 4th commendment we stay home and turn of our phones and TV and study the Bible and rest. Hebrews 4 talks about the day of rest. I don't believe in watching preachers on tv . Much less Joel Olstin or Joyce Myers.
