She is absolutely super good, she explain slowly so we can see all the picture, and I understand better now, you are fantastic ❤️❤️❤️

Aw, thank you so much! 😃🙏 I'm really glad. This is a mistake that leads to a lot of falling!

Very important advice! Training basics like jumping on the bolts, feet positioning, tic tacs, running starts and so on are part of our daily skating routine here - thanks to your videos ;)

good advice! I will do this at the beginning of a session.I really like that you always show yourself as an example, how you achieved it and that you also have problems with some tricks. it really feels less intimidating (ya know like these super skateboarding dudes who skateboard for more than 10 years and explain you easy tricks you will never be able to do😂).

"easy tricks you will never be able to do" is a very articulate way to say that 😂 I totally get that too. Really glad you're enjoying the content structure though! :D

Thank you Sarah, she pointed directly to my problem, for this I am very grateful for these videos of yours, nowhere have I seen so many specifics. With gratitude from Russia.

Could you do a video about falling safely? You're the best at going into details and every other video just says to roll and not straighten your arms, but I'm especially unsure of how to do that when I slip out and land on my side.
@SarahParkMatott3 жыл бұрын
Ah, falling safely. Let me think about that! It think there are two things I could add to the conversation about falling and slipping out. I like to fall like an accordion to absorb the impact or jump off my deck...I'll make a note of it! Thank you! :D

I'm a fat dude and I'm actually trying to incorporate learning skating with weight loss. Jumping on the bolts and doing squats on the board has been good for practicing balance and burning some calories!

That's awesome and a great combination to work on training, skating and balance. 💪

I have noticed this too omg and what's worse is a lot of times these beginners don't wear any protection??? It's terrifying. Sure, falling is part of skateboarding but sustaining a serious or lethal injury shouldn't have to be. Helmets and pads should be normalized tbh, and not just for beginners. The first day I stepped on a skateboard I immediately crashed on a pebble and scraped my knee and I've been wearing pads ever since. I haven't always been wearing my helmet when skating flatground but I'm going to be doing that more, not just for myself but because I don't wanna set a bad example for children (also my helmet is cool).
@SarahParkMatott3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for this comment. I feel the same way. I've heard that "getting hurt is part of skating" a lot, and there is definitely a risk of injury, but I also believe that we can and should minimize it as much as we can. I wear shin guards even because its uncomfortable to skate with a thousand shin injuries, and I don't want anything to stop me from skating. I always wear my helmet at the park, but I also will be wearing it for flat ground this summer. Glad you have a cool helmet. Maybe I need to decorate mine 😂
@maarikaaa3 жыл бұрын
@@SarahParkMatott Right exactly, you can just continue skating instead of being in pain or recovering from an injury. The only downside to protective gear is that it gets hot but I can live with that. What sort of shin guards do you have? It didn't occur to me shin guards were a thing but after some googling it seems scooter and bmx riders use them. My legs were perpetually covered in bruises last year so I should probably buy shin guards too :')
@SarahParkMatott3 жыл бұрын
@@maarikaaa Exactly! I can live with the heat to protect myself haha I have used both soccer shin guards and fit guy skate freestyle shin guards. The soccer shin guards protect most of what I need protected, so I've been using those a lot lately. The freestyle shin guards wrap around the leg and even protect your calf, but they have no plastic for the really hard hits. I even used them together sometimes 😂 I would go with what you think will feel comfortable and make you protected!
@maarikaaa3 жыл бұрын
@@SarahParkMatott I think I'll get those shin guards that scooter ppl use since they get their shins whipped all the time. 😄 If it works with scooters then it should work with skateboards too.

This is a good idea. I will try this next time I try to shove it. I've got a question - how did you get your Ollies so perfectly levelled. What is your secret?
@SarahParkMatott4 жыл бұрын
Good question! The real secret I found is actually in pushing the nose forward. At the height of your ollie when your front foot is done sliding up to the nose, you want to push the nose forward. That really levels out the ollie. It pulls the back wheels up. I am actually making a video on it right now! So, hopefully that will be helpful 😄 it’s a tough trick to explain without a visual!
