Marc-I love you but this is dumb with all the jazz hands garbage. Just lay it flat on the bath mat while you shower; I sometimes will lay down a bright microfiber cloth so it can’t be missed or mistakingly stepped on.

Agreed. Never take it off when I shower, swim, play golf and really anything except sleeping or washing the car. Wear it and enjoy it.

The reason not to wear a watch in the shower isn’t the water per se but soap. The case gaskets are kept supple by the application of silicone grease. Contact with soap will expedite the grease drying out, which means the rubber gaskets are liable to perish sooner than they otherwise might.

Agreed and the soap trapped between links and small gaps will turn into harden gunks over time. Watch don’t need to be in the shower so just leave it in the bedroom and you may even manage to clean your wrist where the watch usually occupied

I placed my Omega Seamaster 300M on a towel on the counter while showering. Forgot I left it there and as I went to grab the towel after shaving ....well you can guess what happened next as the towel slid across the counter to dry my face. Omega Marble Tile Test! Dinged the top lug and I took a nice few hundred $ depreciation hit when I sold it a couple years later with the noted damage. Hopefully this tragic tale of stupidity can save another watch life.

I just take mine off and try to avoid being a clumsy shmuck. That said, I have dropped my sea dweller 16600 a a couple times on very hard surface and it hasn’t been an issue. It’s a tank.

There is absolutely no benefit of wearing a watch in the bathroom especially during bathing. You will never be able to dry a wet watch completely by wiping down and whatever leftover will turn into gunks over time. So unhygienic and a bad habit

Need your opinion I got a day date I recently serviced but Rolex service says the watch did not pass the water test and said do not submerge underwater also they said if u want it to be water resistant I need a new case which the 18k gold would be very expensive but I do not intend to swim or any water sport will this hurt re sale value

Wow! I need more detail. “Rolex service says…” what Rolex service? An authorized Rolex service center located in house at an Authorized Dealer? One of the RSC’s operated directly by Rolex in Dallas or NY? Or some dude who services Rolex? Next-why can’t they simply replace the seals?! Is the case bent or gouged so it cannot be made water safe with seals? I’m really questioning who worked on this for you and also what year is the watch.

Yes at a Rolex service center they did a full overhaul service and said whoever serviced before the inside case is screwed up and I need a new case for water resistant but beside that I got the 2 year warranty card from Rolex and watch came out minty and running great

I don’t know who did prior service it definitely wasn’t RSC cause they would see the history and the RSC said the only way to make watch water resistant is a new case
