Yea it sucks the manuals are going away. We don't have very many left at our yard. Your absolutely right about the 5th wheel and sliding tandem locks these are the 2 most crucial areas they are extremely strict on and if you miss them it's a quick way to fail. Also when they have you backing into different spots during the test always get out and look if u hit the trailer that's another way to fail always do your 360

@@rmcmunoz2 I got covid day 4th went home, then I got my own truck never went back. But I wish I’d stay. It’s great company great ppl. As far as the orientation it’s all good and not hard they teach you prior how to do the test and you practice i thing 3 days then they test you. Also it was up to us to chose automatic or manual in Red bluff CA. i don’t k other terminal do the same ! Good luck 🤞

Nice. Congrats on the new career. You will love the freedom. If you can look for a FedEx ground job. Depending on the trucking school you go to you might be able to get in with 0 experience. Amazing pay for a first year driver. All FedEx ground is sub contractor that hire you. You might have to get creative on how to contact them. What state are you in?

There's definitely some tight spots around the holidays with those containers and drivers parking in the receiving areas. It's annoying and sometimes you have to back out of the area. ..it can be a challenge sometimes. Take your time and do it correctly.

After you pass onboarding, do they give you time off or just go straight to driving with a mentor? You're not required to give a 2 week notice but it's the right thing to do, you know.

I was thinking about making the switch, then I saw you had to ride with someone for 2 weeks.. I can't sleep in a moving vehicle.. Train/Car/Airplane etc.. So that's a massive change of mind for me.

you have 30 min to do a verbal pti on both truck n trailer both sides... if you miss these 5 items you fail- seat belt, 5th wheel, tug test, tandem pins in locked potion and touch all lug nuts. the virbage is dif so listen to the way they say it and start from top down and do not bounce around.

I love this video. I go to onboarding in Searcy Arkansas February 28 2022. I will be working at the Sanger Texas DC. I applied January 30 2022 and Monday January 31 2022 I got a email to schedule a phone interview for Tuesday February 1 2022. I already gave my current employer my two week notice. If all fails I will be looking for another job.

Yes on refrigerators and power inverters. I bring my own microwave and extension cord. I also have a water boiler, mini crock pot and more. Definitely agreed you shouldn't live off truck stop food. Hopefully Walmart will figure it out soon that microwaves aren't that expensive and should be standard in every truck. You park your car in the truck parking lot so it's easy to unload everything back and forth fast.

You should work on getting you hazmat. No sense in waiting until you get hired on and need to learn all that information at the same time as a new job. But they do give you 120 days after hiring on to get it.

I said ok I still wanna automatic btw I got covid while on the orientation and went home then I got my own truck, so I didn’t end up working for Walmart but it’s great company paid me for all my orientation and I think a week for my covid leave

That training is only for supply chain associates that do not have a cdl. Currently I hear only in Texas and one other location, I believe east coast like Pennsylvania maybe. Otherwise you need 30 months tractor trailer experience. But if you keep an eye on the website it's always changing.
