Thank you… This was helpful as it showed me some of the culture and the inner workings of driving for WAL-MART. I do have a question about referrals… Everything I read tells me it’s best to have a referral to get hired by the company but honestly, I don’t know anybody who drives for Walmart, so I wonder how I can get to Driver for a referral? I’ve driven a total of 6 years for CR England and WERNER, as well as with my brother who was an owner operator hauling autos. I’ve done OTR, regional, box unloading, home nightly operating with the slip-seat driver as well as teaming with my brother for a year; so I feel like I’ve got pretty comprehensive experience. I’ve got no constraints and I’m looking to retire with WAL-MART in 20+ years. I’d like to work out of the Loveland, Colorado distribution center as I work out of it Denver right now and I live close to Loveland. Any ideas?

@@XxBlacKkNighTxX7 yo! IT WAS HELLA HOT! Lol. Not to mention stress level through the roof. But the trainers were all super cool and awsome. They were strick and very serious about the PRE TRIP, BACKING, AND ROAD TEST. They really do want everyone to pass. They want no one or wish no one to fail or leave without a job. Infact they had us study all together and broke us up in groups to test eachother on all the parts around the entire truck and trailer. Its like a mini basic mechanic BOOT CAMP! TO ANSWER YOUR QUISTION, I AM NOW A WALMART DRIVER! GOT THE JOB.

@DaVinci the only way Walmart will train you is of you don't have a cdl AND you already work for Walmart in the stores or warehouses. If not you need your cell and 30 months experience
@walmartprofessionaldriver Жыл бұрын
@DaVinci ya pretty sure. Probably a minimum 1 year as employee and depends where you are in the country. The program is in select locations. Ask your manager if you store is in an eligible area

Good afternoon. Your my contact person that I started back in June to complete my app. Only problem is I came in with their old online web to do the app, they built a new online web to fill out the app and just over 2 months have passed and my app isn't done yet at all. I have hit all of the glitches in the new system and no one knows what to do to help me. At the end I had to create a all new me and start at the beginning like I just now applied for the first time. This is my negative side to walmart so far but I will make it through. Once I am in then all is good. Your name will still be on my app as my contact. Take care and talk soon. Stay safe

Do you still have to slip seat when your a new driver and do you still get crappy schedules like Tuesdays threw Saturday?
@walmartprofessionaldriver Жыл бұрын
Slip seating is rare and certainly not every week. Some dcs don't even do it. And most likely you will have Saturday and Sunday in your work week in the beginning. They pay you more if you work weekends. I choose to work weekends still

I'm with JoyRide Logistics, making $1,635 gross salary company driver weekly pay. I started on 1/22/2024 with JoyRide dry van company over the road truck driver. Take in bank $1,303.97 weekly net pay. Plus, I get $575 monthly safe driving bonus consistently. Drive a dedicated route with dry van easy safe lane from Goodyear AZ to Lamirada, CA. Then, I pick up an Amazon load back to Phoenix AZ. Loads are lightweight with only a dirt truck parking lot in Phoenix Arizona. They are empty cans of Monster energy drinks or Sprite. Plus, I drive the lower west coast from Goodyear Arizona to Lamirada, California, where driving all year is safe away from the bad weather potential to avoid accidents and traffic jams! Truck I'm driving is a Freightliner Cascadia white color 2022 with 157,767 low miles with medium-sized Whirlpool refrigerator, APU, and TV mount, governed at 74 mph automatic transmission. I'm saving $1k a week to buy my own truck. I'm thinking of working at JoyRide for the next 2 years until I get my own truck. If Walmart can hire in the Arizona area then I will like to work for them.
