My Spanish is Latin American. I understood most of these with very little trouble. They reminded me of the way Cubans and Puerto Ricans and Venezuelans and Dominicans talk. Some Colombians too. The last one had me dying. I had to listen to it two or three times though. That one was a little harder. The expressions are the hardest if you’re a native speaker of a different region. I have to confess that me cago en la virgen was a total first for me. Never heard anybody say anything remotely like that in all of my life.

Estoy "pretendican" en Wyo, US. I worked with a Venezuelan...I thought he was Italian.

Wow very good that you understood the majority of it!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 That "Me cago en la Virgen" is common in Andalucía, the South of Spain. Even more common is "Me cago en Dios" 😅😅 We say it here like it has lost the literal meaning.

Madre mia!! I live in Sevilla and I can say that sometimes I wonder if I know any Spanish at all. Hasta luego is pronounced 'ta 'uego, it took me a while to figure that one out. Oh well, I will keep trying.

I am American (California) and used to live in Sevilla and I picked it up pretty quickly. It has been nearly 30 years and people still tell me I speak with an andalucian accent.

Gracias por el video tan divertido e informativo!! La verdad es que mi interés al español y a España en general empezó porque del grupo sevillano O'Funk'illo, las letras de los cuales tienen el acento Andaluz muy distinto y, por supuesto, mezclado con el lenguaje de la calle. Por eso, no es necesario decir que yo no entendía nada... na', perdón. :D Sin embargo, desde el primer escuche de las canciones "A'jierro" y "Nos Vamos pal 'Keli" me encantó el ánimo que tenían y aquel invierno del año 2010 escuchaba al grupo cada día, todos los tres álbumes. Luego, después de unos años, hice una investigación, encontré un artículo sobre el acento Andaluz y empecé a entender algunas palabras y las reducciones cuales de hecho se usan por toda España, solo son más fuertes en Andalucía, me di cuenta también de las "s" y "z"/"c" pronunciadas al revés. Fuimos a Punta Umbría en 2016 pa ver O'Funk'illo y Molotov en directo en el festival Rock in Ría y recuerdo la gente local hablando, oíamos palabras como "pehcao", "autobúh pa Werva", "cómo ehtah/etsáh"... No sé por qué, pero eso me encantó bastante! Y bueno, poco a poco aprendía el español por una app que tenía unos buenos ejercicios de gramática como el entrenamiento de conjugaciones que me ayudó un mogollón; prefiero la pronunciación Castellana con el ceceo y seseo, la "d" como la "z" en palabras como "unidad" u "oportunidad". Y eso todavía no significa que entenderé más que "maomeno" o "amoave" en el acento Andaluz. :D

Qué curiosa tu historia con el español, muchas gracias por compartirla 😄😄 Esas canciones son difíciles de entender si no eres de Andalucía 😆 Muy buen trabajo por tu parte 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 ¿Entendiste bien las frases en el vídeo entonces? Incluso para mí algunas eran muy complicadas de entender 😆

@@holamydailyspanish Ni hablar, aún para tí? Hostia! Por mí, ehh... creo que la primera frase sería más o menos entendible si la escuchara yo algo de 3-5 veces. Así mismo recuerdo escuchando al ex-cantante de O'Funk'illo hablar en un vídeo en Instagram, creo que yo lo había entendido algo después de tres veces. (Ahora no recuerdo de qué se trataba el discurso, si sería sobre el acento mismo...) Y sí, muchas cosas en el Andaluz confunden: las "s" y "c" pronunciadas al revés, la "w" en vez de "b" y la "sh" en "mucho", para no mencionar un montón de reducciones...🤯 Hay palabras distintas para Andalucía también, verdad? Como "jartar", si entendí correctamente, es "emborracharse" o "tener una fiesta y emborracharse". "Illo" viene de "quillo" (o "killo") que viene de "chiquillo"... y qué significará "Arte Un Waka"?

When i say andalusian in english I don’t pronounce it like andalushan they way you do. It sounds so funny to me. We usually just say andalusia with an s sound.

I'm teaching Spanish for English speakers so I do all the explanations in English, I think this way is easier to understand and a nice way to learn.

Me habría gustado oírte recrear los acentos mientras explicabas/traducías, para aprender cómo son diferentes los sonidos y contracciones en las formas de hablar. Cada región, cada zona, tiene su propio sabor, y qué bonito es.
