Usually these are people who have never tried to read the Bible. They may have taken sips out of context like the verse of the day, but they have never read it. It really doesn’t matter what type of Church you fall under, you will find some that worship in spirit and in truth, and you will find some that are very far from genuine worship, with no spirit and no truth in sight. Protestant, Catholic, East Orthodox, you name it. Apostates are everywhere, but it would be very unwise to single out and demonize “all Protestants” or “all Orthodox” or “all Catholics” by claiming “all” in a given group are apostate. We must not strike division between Churches and their congregants so swiftly and basing it solely on their labels (i.e. Protestant or Catholic). But we DO judge by the fruits of the individual congregation. And if the fruits of a congregation are rotten, then the congregation itself is likely rotten. However we must take care to not expand that cognitive perception to ALL congregations of a type. If we continue the analogy and liken a given Church to a fruit bearing tree, then we can see that an individual tree that has become rotten does not mean the ENTIRE species of that plant is no good. Considering the Easter story was an ancient pagan spring fertility festival it's easy to get confused. Don't believe me? Well how do you explain the classic symbols of Easter? All the Easter Bunnies and Easter eggs, both traditional fertility icons. When Christianity came along it was easier to take over the old festivals rather than invent new ones. The birth of JC took over the sun god cult's annual festival of Sol Invictus, the invincible sun, celebrated on the Winter Solstice when the days started becoming longer again, and they had his death at Easter. A new life fertility festival was just the thing for a death and resurrection myth.

Exchange of eggs is an ancient custom, celebrated by many cultures. Hot cross buns are very ancient too. In the Old Testament we see the Israelites baking sweet buns for an idol, and religious leaders trying to put a stop to it. The early church clergy also tried to put a stop to sacred cakes being baked at Easter. In the end, in the face of defiant cake-baking pagan women, they gave up and blessed the cake instead.

If you have a church near you that is associated with WELS (Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Church, which are found all across the United States), please go…. They all preach the inerrant and infallible Word. No matter where, please find a church and pray for discernment as to whether the Word is being preached and taught. You and your family need to be involved in a church of true believers. God’s blessings on you.

Good churches are out there, just hard to find. Whenever we move to a new state, I go by this list when looking for a church home 1. Do they believe the Bible is true from cover to cover ? 2. Do they see the Holy Spirit property or do they try to make it like the Holy Spirit is demonic? 3. Do they believe in the triune of God or do they believe that the Father, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are just roles rather than 3 distinct individuals who are echad? (Echad is the Hebrew word used to describe the triune of God in the Bible. Echad means one that is made up of more than one part) 4. Does the children's ministry actually teach the Bible to the children or is just a daycare? 5. Do you feel the presence of God there? 6. Does their doctrine line up with the Word of God? 7. Do they teach applying the Word to your life and not just read and try to make the Bible fit an agenda? 8. Is the pastor willing to preach about things that are controversial the way it is in the Bible or do they seek to please man? 9. Do they believe that God still does miracles or do they make it like God is not the same God He was back then and has changed to no longer doing miracles? 10. Do they preach a prosperity gospel so they can get rich? Test everything. Read about them in their website before going. Talk to the pastor or others who can help you get a good idea of what they believe. Pray about it and if anything feels off, move on to checking out the next church. I've had times where I would go 2-3 months going to different churches every Sunday until God let me know I was in the right place. Don't give up

Matthew 10:28 Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell. Yes God is full of love, grace, and mercy. Jesus’ crucifixion shows how infinitely He is able to love the unlovable. And His resurrection the proof of His statement that He can lay His life down and pick it up. However God is perfectly holy in every one of His aspects. And as a holy judge who will show no partiality, it is right to have a fear of Him. God isn’t your buddy or pal you sit down and have a nice chat with at a cafe. His infinite holiness makes it impossible for anyone to stand before Him. Just look through scripture. In a vision where Isaiah saw God on His throne in heaven he wept and proclaimed that he was undone. Isaiah 6:5 “Woe to me!” I cried. “I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips, and I live among a people of unclean lips, and my eyes have seen the King, the LORD Almighty.” Even angels who are God’s messengers cause men to crumple. In Daniel 8:17, Daniel was visited by Gabriel. Daniel 8:16-17 And I heard a man’s voice from the Ulai calling, “Gabriel, tell this man the meaning of the vision.” As he came near the place where I was standing, I was terrified and fell prostrate. “Son of man,” he said to me, “understand that the vision concerns the time of the end.” Fear of God is healthy. It leads to conviction. It leads to repentance. It nurtures an ever deepening gratitude for the forgiveness we receive by God’s grace. It allows those that have been redeemed to not worry about what people will do or say when man’s laws and God’s laws conflict. It produces courage in the face of persecution. Peace in troubling times. And a love that allows even the least of believes to reach out with the gospel to a dying world in the hope that maybe something they do will show a fraction of the love and forgiveness God is willing to give if they will see their sins for what they are, who God is, and how desperately they need forgiveness and salvation through Jesus’ substitutionary atonement. And lastly, fearing God and knowing Him helps Christians put off the old sin nature that keeps crawling out of the grave to wreck havoc in a believer’s life. None of this is intended as an attack. I’m just as much in need of God’s mercy and grace as the next. But the painting of God as some loving kindly old man that just wants people to be happy is a terrible misconception that is all too prevalent nowadays. I’ll finalize with two proverbs. Proverbs 9:10, “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” And Proverbs 10:27 “The fear of the Lord prolongs days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.”

from 2002-2007 we were members of a church in south Florida - good church, good music program, great Sunday school - a new pastor came in, changed the name, changed other things - we were back visiting in 2016 - fog, lights, rock-star music was so loud my ears hurt (luckily had my ear plugs I use at the range and put them in) - I thought that any moment satan was going to jump out of the walls, dance his way to the stage, grab a babe and start bumping and grinding! Wanted to knock that pastor down .... (I'm 71 - why am I so bitter)!

I’d encourage you to watch the entire production. I’m concerned that all of the critics are missing the point. The idea is similar to CS Lewis’ ‘The Screwtape Letters’. It is a fairytale-based depiction of the resurrection story, & Todd has misunderstood the role of the ‘princess’ - she represents us, the bride. The Son of the King in the production is most certainly a man… anyway, if you get a chance look at the entire thing and I’d be interested to hear your thoughts.

I just recently started going back to church and live here in Tulsa. I tried to go visit this church dithering week during business hours and was met by the church’s hired police officers (not TPD) instead of staff. That was a B I G red flag not to attend service there or go back for a visit. I have found a new home church in Broken Arrow…..

Thank you… the church that my family and I use to go to had Jesus singing… after the senior Pastor passed away the son changed everything and regularly mocks Christ. We don’t go to this church any longer… many many churches have lost their way, or have been revealed as cults and in no way are saving souls for Christ. 🙏🏼🙏🏼✝️✝️

I'm grateful I foind an LCMS Lutheran Church. Our Good Friday service was very solemn following the 6 weeks of Lent. It was the proper preparation for the joys of Easter Sunday. I fear for the younger generations never knowing scripturally sound churches. Even the twice a year Christians (Christmas and Easter) are missing out on so much.

Years ago I went to this outdoor play. It was presented by this community that kind of lived off on their own. They were a self sufficient community, and they’re little hole in the wall tourist attraction for people who know about them. You walk into the play area in the woods where it’s taking place and immediately there’s something off. There were animal skulls everywhere. There was this pagan moaning ambiance playing. At some point in the play this guy starts singing a music number and places a baphomet mask on his head and starts screaming “I GET SCARED OF MYSELF! I GET SCARED OF MYSELF!” While the actors are moving in circles around him on this ritualistic fashion. Now I would have been fine with that, except for the original formula for the play did not include a baphomet mask. What is disturbing is that the original play was actually really beautiful, and it was turned into something perverted. That’s what satan does. He takes something beautiful and twists it in a manner to glorify himself. This excerpts from that play vaguely gave me that same feeling. Edit: I recant the statement I formerly said about the play, about it being beautiful. This play was clearly satanic from the beginning, and I didn’t recognize it until now.
