I've loved see your channel grow since James hosted a video! Will check out the article for sure. Congratulations on the nomination! Also, another item I'd love to hear more about is the Odyssey Argos. I hear it's been delayed a fair bit, but I see a relatively steady stream of info from the manufacturer.

I'm excited for an indepth, weird coffee-science style review of the Spinn Espresso centrifuge style espresso machine, I think the science of extraction is fascinating and would love a pro level impression on it

Great list man! Lots of things to be excited for next year. I am hopeful this next year we will start seeing more flat burr hand grinders as well, there are a few i’ve seen around forums

Following up. It wasn't announced at the time you made this video, I don't think, but I'm very excited for the Pietro grinders that Lance Hedrick helped out with. I love hand grinders and love to see how much better they've gotten in the past ten years.

I look forward to seeing what you're able to get your hands on to review in the next year. I got myself a Sofi72, and I've made some great coffee in it so far. Some time ago there was a Kickstarter going for the "Knob" coffee grinder, which I chose not to take part in, just because at the time it was a pretty stiff investment. If they manage to start selling it commercially though, I would be curious to know if it would be worth considering, as a supposedly step-less manual coffee grinder. One coffee product that I wish there were also generally more deep dives on were stovetop gooseneck kettles. I was shopping for one recently, not really wanting another expensive electric appliance. I settled on a Kalita Pelican Pot, but more as a matter of style than anything. There are so many copies of Hario kettles in that market that it's almost sickening.

Those are all super cool. I am interested in the time more though it may be quiet expensive. I really like the dual burr grinder but they said it cannot do espresso.

Xbloom worries me because of the pod design - since it doubles as a brewer, there are holes in the bottom of the pod which I have to assume will oxidize the "freshly roasted" coffee inside... gonna have to wait and see on that one, but I would rather use it with my own coffee anyways

What's your opinion of the Odyssey Argos? The ability to switch between direct lever and spring lever, 9 bar and 6 bar springs, tank and steam wand for that price is very exciting for lever nuts like me 😂

Odyssey looks amazing. Hopefully we can get our hands on one soon :)

You basically read my 2023 mind in the best new products minus over priced baskets. I saw the Timemore in person looks promising.
@picerhk96462 жыл бұрын
I got a Timemore 078 around 2 months ago. It's a really good grinder, but only for pour overs. I didn't know there is a 64 version that will work for espresso too! I haven't seen many reviews of the 078, and also only a few in Chinese. Would love to see a full review of this, and see how it compares with the Ode Gen 2.
@tiktian Жыл бұрын
There's supposed to be "s" versions of both grinders 64 and 78 that have burrsets that will work well for espress, I think they said they're going to come out witht the kickstarter next month

Great video, only feedback from my side is minimize the zoom in and zoom outs, becomes very distracting and irritating especially when it’s done too many times unnecessarily

A subject being avoided is the state of coffee with respect to global warming. While specialty coffee and technology has never been better, global warming if threatening to ruin the fun. DCN and University of Queensland in Australia (to name a few) have published articles on how precarious it all is. It’s a real worry but I’m afraid we will do what humans have always do - destroy it then look back and say “what should we have done?” It’s not a nice topic but it’s becoming very real. Sorry for bumming you out.

Xpod looks like a nightmare.. like something no one uses in 5 years and I’ve seen many of similar high tech home machines fail. The meticulous on the other hand seems like the future of ”high tech espresso”. I still think the future of coffee is low tech simple brewers with no apps or electricity. Thats just simply how it has to go, high tech isnt sustainable.
