Excellent video- the humor 😂 😂 and the knowledge are unparalleled. Just started eXpresso at home with a Casabrew machine bought for just over $100. It doesn’t have adjustable pressure or temperature dials, but the salami shot is something we can try. Cheers!

How do I brew 500mL coffee in the single batch basket?
@aramseКүн бұрын
Keep the shower head on single and ignore that and the basket warning. You should be able to choose skip or something similar.
@benjammin365Күн бұрын
@@aramseit won’t let me bypass the warnings. Maybe it’s a US thing. I don’t want to go to the batch brew based on your review of it, but I always drink 500mL

for people who have had this for a while now: how long can the carafe keep a pot hot? I’ve seem a lot of criticism that the coffee (full batch) only stays hot for about 20min.
@aramse3 күн бұрын
The criticisms are accurate if you’re brewing lower volumes. Anything over 600ml manages to stay hot for 2-4 hours. Again, the more you fill the carafe the more stable the temp.

Great review!! Can u please answer 1 question: Does Aiden coffee taste significantly better than a Moccamaster? MM is great but usually tastes like a good drip coffee - good but hardly great (no matter what I attempt to tweak with the variables mostly grind size). It seems Aiden tastes more like pour over - is this true? taste is my deciding factor with Aiden. Thank u & keep up the excellent work(and entertaining) videos!
@aramse4 күн бұрын
The Aiden tastes like a proper pour over brewed by someone who knows what they’re doing. The MM is a classic and a workhorse but in the cup the Aiden wins.

Loved the review just wished he could have hit on the 189D vs SSP HU in terms of flavor/repeatability. All the reviews seem to leave this out or dont say much on the 189Ds in terms of the SSP HUs they just focus on comparing the multipurpose burrs to the 200Ds

Would love to buy this but i hope the technic inside will last, like what motor is used inside and is it durable or how long the sensors will last and sensor also decalibrate over time, who can calibrate them? So this thing needs a service center in your country or region.

Albert Einstein allegedly (but not actually) said that insanity was doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. Apparently, Albie never made pour-overs, where you can do the exact same thing back to back five times and get wildly different results each time.

for setting the filter, wouldn't wetting the dripper first help? Wet, put in filter, then rinse. That helps with V60 to get the paper to stick in place
@aramse7 күн бұрын
Once it’s wet it really difficult to slide down to the lowest position. It sticks to the walls. In most cases it’s better to get the filter in position when it dry and then wet it to set it.

if they redesigned the portafilter because the old one wasn't safe at high pressures, I can't imagine the new one with the faulty o-ring is much better.

I picked one of these up from a cafe in Tokyo a week or so ago because the barista made me one of the best pour-overs I'd ever had. I got beans, the brewer and the filters. I still haven't been able to completely replicate what she was able to do, but my coffees have still been nice. I'm looking forward to using some of the tips you mentioned. Thanks!

Hey, nice video. Have you tried the Lab Sweet v3? Do you think this grinder would overall be much better than the DF64 with these burrs? Thanks!
@aramse10 күн бұрын
Just received the orbit with V3 burrs so haven’t really tested it properly. That being said I quite like the V2. The Mazzer is way better built and will last you forever. I can’t say the same about the DF. That being said, if you slow feed the DF+LSV3 combo you should get some excellent cups.

I have the Kitchwen Aid grinder, which I be;liege makes very accurate grinds without mess, the kitchen aid espresso machine (where I believe the steam wand is poor), and also the Sage Precision Brewer for filter coffee. Am I lucky, or am I missing things? 0:34

Very informative. Thank you. But I only really enjoy coffee with milk. Can you advise about the best way to try different coffees with milk?
@aramse11 күн бұрын
Everything in this video also applies to coffee with milk. At the end of the day if you have a well extracted shot of espresso it’ll taste better no matter how you drink it. As for advise with milk, it generally tends to pair better with coffees that aren’t super acidic. Also try and reduce the ratio of milk down until you’re able to fully appreciate the nuances of the coffee.
