I find some of the equipment choices questionable: The Look SRM Crankset isn't even the best one they make there is a THM SRM Crankset. SRM doesn't even have the most accurate pm on the market. Additionally THM's own crankset is about 200 grams lighter and you can pair it with Favero or Speedplay for a system weight that is lighter still, and provides true dual sided power, and is about 2000 dollars cheaper in total. If you don't want carbon chainrings there are lighter options out there by Praxis works and others. The lightweight wheels are also very overrated being in the 1200 + gram range without rotors. Using any number of rim makers like Grigio Carbonio or EIE or Farsports, you can build up a disc tubeless wheelset that is 1000-1100 grams without rotors, has an even deeper profile that is suited to a variety of yaw angles (unlike lightweight), is equally stiff, much easier to take apart and maintain, and once again is half to a third the cost to boot. There are also numerous casette makers with equal performance and 50% less weight. There are also lighter, cheaper, equally functional bottle cages. Arundel is quite heavy Lastly the ceramic speed OSPW is a bit of a joke. There are once again lighter, better performing and cheaper OSPWs on the market. No doubt this bike is very cool. But people should realize that bling parts do not equal the best. You could build a lighter (500- 600g), more aero bike, for about 5-10k less, and get better power readings. Just some food for thought. btw chris if this was rimbrake you could build it with all the same spec for sub 5kg. That is truly lightweight.

All very valid points, but keep in mind whoever spent this much money on a bike isn't going to ride anything to a true potential. I know a guy who is in a similar position financially as he owns a very successful building construction consultancy - owns a Pinarello Dogma F12 X-Light with the exact same components as in this video and is a die hard fan of Team Ineos. He didn't make it to the end of a cycling camp in the Dolomites recently as he simply didn't have the fitness and this was aimed at rich recreational riders like him. Wealthy folk usually don't have the time and fitness and can't be arsed to put in the training work either. They just walk into a shop and ask for top shelf stuff or just buy with their eyes whatever appears flashiest (visible carbon weave is a massive selling thing) or have heard about this or that brand (best with rich heritage or some cool story behind its foundation) that it is the best stuff and just want it without any critical thinking, asking questions etc. They fully rely on what they are being told by the builder.

Yesterday, while riding my non aero CAAD10 with aluminum Campy Zonda wheelset on a flat bike path , I passed a guy riding a fancy Pinarello like the one shown here, he immediately stuck to my wheel and I intentionally let him draft for a couple of minutes at 38kh, then I gradually increased my speed to 50kh, in order to let him continue drafting and see if he could hold for a minute, then give him the turn to pull at his own pace. He only could hold for about 30 seconds and when I turned around, he was about 40 yards behind me but trying hard to catch me, then I lowered the speed to 43kh because that was the speed I could sustain after the strong 50kh pull, but this guy blew up in two minutes and when I turned around again, he was about 100 yards away. when I got back home after the ride, I wondered if he felt bad about the huge differences between his super fancy aero bike and mine.

If this bike certainly look better than how it would ride because there are objectively much better framesets and wheelsets on the market. Personally at this price range I would have gone with custom geometry Australia made trifecta Bastion, Prova or Baum. For wheelset Partington has modernized the lightweight design and also Australia based. Campagnolo Bora Ultra WTO also have the bling factor. If you want a slight "high-tech" slant, go with Zipp NSW 454 or NSW 353. Anyway, each to their own. I hope to see a follow up video to this bike and happy riding to the owner!

Chris; it is NOT due to their rubbing, weight, and/or 'aero' penalties as to why I 'hate on' disc brakes! It is because they are causing all of the major/'brand name' wheel manufacturers to TOTALLY abandon/'obsolete' rim brake wheels altogether, leaving us billions of rim brake ride owners out in the cold, and expecting/trying to FORCE us to purchase a new $7K+ (or MORE!) USD crunchy carbon wonder with poor to shite workmanship, in order to even put effing WHEELS under it!! This has already happened for those of us who need NARROW external rim width wheels, and it won't be too long until it is the case for even the wide, aero capable rim brake setups, going by current trend directions. The old, "Well just get an extra job or two" in order to buy the crap that these manufacturers are selling does NOT work in every case! Since I am an almost 70 year old retired senior, on a very fixed income, and with NO 'disposable income' (should I not eat in order to buy these 'wonders'?!?!), and even in these times, no one is going to hire me for any job paying even close enough to pay off one of these ripoff rides. I wonder what the average cost of a bike would be if for everyone money was no object?

I built my Dogma 3 years ago and put all the top stuff on it. Didn't cost anywhere near that

Lovin' on the hatin'. Great video. It's great to see what people value spending their money on, and a little scary. ...and as if anyone is going to let you clip in to those pedals! 😂

I hope Pinarello takes a huge hit on this bicycle. If they are successful, and there are people willing to pay such an absurd price, it will have a trickle down effect on the downstream market. Manufacturers charge what they believe the market will bear. Since the pandemic, bicycles have become absurdly expensive. The high cost of bicycles will also have a negative effect on bicycle racing, both road and mtb. As bicycles become a luxury item, only wealthy folks will be able to purchase reasonably good equipment for their kids, and sponsorship of pro teams will become harder to attain.

What is the insurance premium on that thing?

Hmm, best performing bike? For hill climbs there's much lighter. For racing you need to be more aero than those wheels even on the 5% climbs. But most expensive, probably! If you've got the money the why not! Good to see it being pumped into cycling!

You can buy a lightly used Dogma for 5 to 6k & I guarantee you'd treat it the same as this beauty, as a bike person I understand why someone would have this bike built I mean who wouldn't want a bike made of CF w/ titanium bits 🖖

Yeah, another simple, old-school, Chinese-style build request. "Nah, I don't care, just give me the most expensive everything." Nice build BTW.

Look forward to seeing it back on the market with no kms ridden in 3 months time for $20k after the owner has got his social media clout fix.
