I'm from Houston too. I was just in Phoenix in September. The weather was nice, the homes and every part of the city we visited were very nice. It was very clean. Not sure I'd want to be there during the summer months though. Although they do have dry heat, not the nasty humidity like in Houston. LOL!

The reason this house is so expensive is because of the underground areas. It's extremely expensive, time consuming, and labor intensive to excavate in Arizona as almost 100% of the ground is solid rock. I do not understand why anyone in their right mind wouldn't just build these facilities above ground, it would lower the construction cost by 30 million easily.

There are only 2 places I'd feel comfortable in that home. In the pool or in the range. ;) I'll bet the bathrooms are huge with high ceilings and they'd be uncomfortable, too. But if you had the bucks for that, you'd also have the bucks to rebuild it into a Not So Big House where humans would be comfy. (Thank you, Sarah Susanka, for putting into words what I had been feeling for so long.) If you buy her books, be sure to get the first one first. It's the best.

The fact people are that rich to afford stuff life this is honestly ridiculous.. no one should have to buy a house/property that much. A decent 2 story house, some land and like 2 nice vehicles is my dream. Simple.

THAT cost 50 million? At this point I feel like it makes more sense to just spend the equivalent amount on building regular sized homes on next to each other. Instead of one $45 million home that you won’t be able to afford the upkeep of in a couple years, why not just build 100 regular single-family homes on the same property. Then instead of spending millions on specialized rooms or facilities, you can just have different houses for different things. Like one of the houses is your kitchen and dining house. Another could be an indoor pool. They all look like regular homes on the outside.
