❤❤you are so correct, Im a parrot owner and people need to do research and alot of it before getting a parrot, then you have to find which bird is a perfect fit for the person! I decided on a green cheek conure, alway wanted a macaw but each species have different needs, and what most people don't realize is amongst the upkeep cost, you have to have the time, parrots need the human to spend alot of time with them, plus the training time, etc., I am really happy that your hyacinth got to become a part of your family or flock!! Thanx for the wonderful video, I'll be waiting for more. I brought my bird home when he was 3 months old and now Jake just turned 5 years, I spend alot of quality time and he is flourishing, he is a joy to have!!❤❤👍

Sorry, hyacinth macaws do not average $35k to $45k in the US, Canada or Europe. Typically, they are going to run $12-$15k and sometimes the odd bird maybe $20k or an occassional deal at less than $12k. I speak from keeping and breeding parrots for 30+ years including hyacinths. Like your channel.
@TheGreggAdam Жыл бұрын
Wow please send me phone numbers or link to them I’ll be impressed all hyacinths on market right now are around 32k there is a re home right now that’s 4 years old she’s gorgeous but are at 28k. Send me links or numbers, I have very close friends that sell them and re home and sell all day long at 30-40k
@qbisland4476 Жыл бұрын
@TheGreggAdam Hi Greg, I'm now retired from breeding and I'm based out of Canada, but over the years, I imported from the US and Europe. The US is one of the leading producers of hyacinths in the world. You need to expand your search within the US and source from people who are producing them. I'm sure there are people/groups that get $35-45k, but this is not the average market price in the US. The people who are getting these prices won't tell you otherwise, so you need to expand your search area. There are a lot of scammers on the internet too...offering prices to good to be true. You will probably pay mid teens to $20k for a young baby, but birds a few years old to older singles can be found in the $10-15k. I have no self-serving purpose to tell you this other than giving you some feedback. I see you care about animals/parrots and have the financial means to acquire and care for them. Hyacinth macaws used to be alot cheaper years ago, but many of the birds produced entered into the pet market, not into ongoing breeding programs. In addition, there are fewer people today breeding parrots overall and importing regulations have tightened up significantly. The US used to have some real interesting species in the earlier days, but the main interest with many breeders was working with species that drove the pet market. The more unusual/less common species have now just about vanished in the US and with fewer new/younger breeders getting into the hobby, availability has reduced and prices have gone up. With this being said, the price range I gave you at the top of this email, is where they are roughly today.
@TheGreggAdam Жыл бұрын
I appreciate your feedback but all the reliable bird places in the US that have good facilities, health care, and take care of their babies are all in the 30k plus range bird and parrots, parrot stars, and a couple places in Florida are all at that 28-40k range they have gone way up in price the last couple years. If you come across any hyacinths in that lower price range that need a good home let me know asap
@nikkylandry1163 Жыл бұрын
They should be bathed every 2-3 days, not every single day. And we absolutely do not need to mess with their feather sheath. That beak is not useless. I can trim my birds beaks and talons. On the top of the wing feathers is fine, touching under and near the tail not so much. I want to know who have him the license to host these birds.

As a fellow bird nut, I can honestly say, we are a different breed of peoples. We love are birbs and only want the best for them. I had dream birds too, but I had to think of my age when I got my first bird and the species longevity. I chose Conures, green cheek variety with mutations like pineapple, blut throats etc. My dream bird this late in life became a Caique. I have had birds now since 2017 and got my last one, another blue throat, because I am a casual breeder and they are my favourite. I have 13 birds now, including a teeny weeny evil and terrible Parrotlet 🦈🦈🦈🦈❤. I am good with what I have at 62 years old and have made arrangements for them all should they outlive me, which they just might.
