I have 2014 one with sunroof. I can tell you it's great. Love the TDI engine. It doesn't stand out here in the USA like a BMW or Mercedes but that's why I like it. I know I'm driving a quality SUV without looking like I'm showing off.

When I first watched his videos I was so irritated by his horrible German English, that for a while I refused to tune in. However, after watching some more videos of his, I must admit, that there is not a single automotive channel on youtube that has videos that get anywhere close to the depth and detail of Autogefühl. And now I also find his German kind of "signature" and I really appreciate the authencity he delivers in each and every one of his videos. So to sum up: Thank you very much for the hard work and for making high quality videos that people like me get to watch for free!

You can not regulate the air suspension on the US version at any trim level. It just has a circular hole where the control is supposed to be.

The US market Touareg 2 was offered from 2008-2010 (which is that this review is focused on). In those years the air suspension was an option. I just drove a 2010 TDi with air about 30 days ago and there is another in Oregon that I am talking to the dealer about.

@@bnschmdt I'm not familiar with the LC refresh. But, no air suspension offered in US after 2010 model. I ended up buying a 2012 Touareg TDI. I'm certain that the 2009-2010 US Touareg were the only model years that offered 3.0L V6 TDI AND optional air suspension (one in Minnesota as of 12/25/20). Prior to that, I've only seen the optional air suspension on the 2004-2005 V8 and V10 models in the US www.westsidevw.com/used/Volkswagen/2010-Volkswagen-Touareg-8e9647820a0e0ae72e36961cc79291ce.htm

A reasonable review, but slow and rambling albeit with some quality information. A few things, i wanted to see the heated windshield where you complain about it, you didn't show us your complaint. Also, about the fantastic chilled glovebox. You opened the glovebox, wait, wait and wait wait, closed it again. Nothing about this excellent feature. Did you not know about the chilled glovebox? Then, you didn't have a tape measure so you could quickly give the load dimensions, rear seats up, rear seats down etc. Finally you struggled to even take your small case out of the load area, so's we could see the spare tyre. We might also be interested in it's inflation instructions. Forty two minutes on comfort settings and ride height

@woodypwx8 жыл бұрын
I follow your channel fairly regularly and know you are not afraid to say straight what you think about using real leather or how hard is the trunk closing, but quality and speed of the electronics is usually overlooked or at least not criticized as much as I would like. Even the top luxury and very expensive cars are quite bad in that regard. Any smartphone has a much smoother satnav these days than the most of the cars released this year.
@woodypwx8 жыл бұрын
Huw Williams VW as company has been punished a lot (too much IMHO), even though it doesn't break any rule here in the EU (unlike in the US, where NOx levels must be 10x lower). I'm pretty sure other manufacturers are using similar techniques to make their diesel engines look cleaner. There is no miracle diesel tech. I understand people want to take advantage of it. It's a great chance to make some money even though they give a damn what actual NOx levels their engine produces.
@woodypwx8 жыл бұрын
Huw Williams The NOx numbers are not much comparable. Especially for the older EU5 (those engines were affected in EU, longtailpipe.com/2015/10/02/differences-in-us-and-eu-emissions-standard-key-cause-of-dieselgate/). Anyway, If you have a big company with many thousands of employees, its very easy to have some of them cheating deep in the software. Yes, the VW management just ordered something unachievable and unrealistic (as management usually does), but their engineers cheated to make them happy. As the tests are normalized and uncover real numbers is very difficult and pricey, its very easy to cover such a cheating. That's why I believe others had no clue and were sure it's working as advertised for years.
@woodypwx8 жыл бұрын
Here are the real life results of NOx testing of various cars made ADAC: auto.idnes.cz/specialni-priloha.aspx?y=automoto/adac-ecotest-oxidy-dusiku.htm The question is not IF but HOW the others are cheating. I have read some stories how AdBlue is not injected as frequently or at all just after the testing cycle, described by its manufacturer as engine protection etc. I have to admit I really like VW, Audi and Porsche cars, so yes, I'm a bit biased.
