I have 18 uncles, 18 aunts, am 1 of 90 cousins so family reunions are easy 200 people, as a child I found it so intriguing and wierd that people had large families and they would say like 20 or 30 people in their big families.

When Hassan said his people like to negotiate. We are contractors and had to drop a lot of clients because of this, then call us to fix the mistakes their previous contractors messed up. It’s annoying. We no longer like to deal with these customers because it’s to hard to collect payment.

It’s beautiful how too people that literally met on their wedding day managed to create such strong relationship and raise their children with love and affection so when it’s time for their daughter to have a family of her own she will cry tears of sadness she is living the nest .. most of the young Europeans can’t wait to move out.. including myself. I love my family and i am thankful for my independence to choose whatever I want, but I wish for such strong relationship .
@MarijaEnchantix
@MarijaEnchantix Жыл бұрын
That relationship comes with an immense amount of pressure. It's not the European unconditional love. It's the pressure kind of love where "if you don't do a,b,c, you are a failure and will be disowned". You essentially don 't have your own life really.

From what I understand the daughter will be “leaving” her family and joining his. Usually there is some time for the new couple to get settled before the bride sees her family again, and certainly not as much as she would have when she was living with her family full time
@vallejan

Brides usually live with their families (not on their own) until marriage. So, it’s about no longer having that day to day of seeing your closest family to starting a completely new way of life, in a new home, with the husband or the husband’s family. So it’s about celebrating the new life but also mourning the previous one.

They're lucky it's not the olden days when a bride was sent to live with her new hubby and in laws far away in another village or city where she rarely or never got to see her family again. The poorer families couldn't afford to travel and there were no cell phones or internet in those days and many couldn't read and write so there were no letters either. That's when it was really sad for the bride and her family.

@marykariotakis36
@marykariotakis36 Жыл бұрын
Yes they do get to see their families..You must understand in the culture the girls are held close to their families being loved an protected. So their bond with their own family is very close. When they are going to get married they become their husbands parents daughter and I. Essence part of their family.. their daughter. The girls are still close with their families but the bond has been broken that the girl doesn’t live with her parents any longer..So they come to visit. When the girl gets married she may live with her in laws with her husband or they may on their own as husband and wife but live close to the husbands family.. Your Middle Eastern, Asian, Greek, and various others are very close knit families..Unless you have been raised this way you will not understand our cultures. I am Second Generation Greek born in America and was raised in a very close knit family ..Had Many many Uncles, Aunts, and Cousins by the dozens!!!❤
