Most team that wins it all have an MVP level calibre player on top of good supporting cast. The Suns just lack that bit. CP is a very good player but he is no Lebron, Giannis, Curry or Jokic. Those are players that the team could lean on when things gets tough. Tatum wasn't exactly on that level but the Celtics was just built with all the correct moves by the front office. Having KD was great but Beal's contract crippled the team

Yes, we know his contact is terrible even without the no trade clause, but I don't think even if Beal didn't have that clause if Jimmy Butler could still go there. A championship team formula seems to be high rank in defense and decent on offense. The other way around simply doesn't work. No matter how good your offense is the posession ends when you take the shot. It's on defense where you can turn stops into good offense to make all the points difference to win games.

As far as I'm aware, there have only been TWO instances-out of countless attempts-where trading for a Big 3 has resulted in a championship-the KG, Pierce, and Allen Celtics and the LeBron, Wade, and Bosh Heat. And even those super teams only managed to win one championship each. Every other Big 3 that I'm aware of formed organically via draft picks, players coming up from the G League, etc. GMs need to stop using this strategy. Statistically, it's almost guaranteed to fail.
