I live in Florence, it used to cost only 5€, 8€-9€ is outrageous 😑😑. I suggest going to “schiacciata matta” or go to “Pino’s sandwiches” there are less people lining up, better schiacciate and you pay 6€ for the same amount (before the pandemic it used to be 5€)

When you make 15 euro an hour, 8 euro for a sandwich isn't bad. Although I will tell you 8 euro for a sandwich is expensive for us in Italy too. I usually eat one at lunch for 4 euro. I think this one costs so much because of the size.

Sandwiches, pizza and pasta in Italy...cheese, olives, olive oil, meat, tomatoes, everything is chef's kiss! Everything is grown and made for flavour. Much is made using old recipes. I go to Italy twice a year and fill a giant wheelie case with olive oil, olives, cheeses, meat, pasta, anchovies, and sun-dried tomatoes . I also grow tomatoes in grow bags on my balcony and herbs on my window sills!

La Fettunta is right next to this place and it's just as good. Antico Vinaio is great but I don't think the waiting line is worth it, it can be up to 2 hours!!!! Don't wait that long and try the Fettunta, specially the MADAME (grilled veggies, brie cheese, sauce *chef kiss*).

I live in Florence and I usually end up eating 'All'antico Vinaio' at least once a week, the sandwiches that they make there are truly enormous and they are literally filled to the brim with a whole bunch of fresh and premium ingredients. We are talking about some of the best mozzarella and prosciutto Italy has to offered, some amazing cuts of meat and million other things depending on what you decide to get plus the sandwiches always fill you and they are incredibly delicious. I often take some of my non Italian friends that come to visit Italy there and no one has ever left unsatisfied. I realize that in some countries 8€ may be a bit too much for a sandwich, but here for what you are given, it's perfectly acceptable evidenced by the fact that the place is always full and you often have to que for at least half and hour. Don't compare it to some Subway crup or whatever crappy stuff you put in your sandwiches, because these ones are worth every penny. If you ever find yourself in Florence and you have the means go try, I guarantee you will not regret it on bit.

In the US an iPhone 13 Pro starts at 999 USD. In Europe it starts at 1189 EUR (≈1287 USD). There are things that are cheaper in Europe than in the US and vice versa.

Cali is one of the most expensive places in the world. Italian food on the whole is about 60% cheaper per meal for the equivilent so it's around 14 dollars if it was in your area. Not so cheap.

Of course the portions were generous. It cost €8! instead of getting a slice of pizza, I got a whole pizza, for the price of a whole pizza. So generous.
