You don't see Metagross use it's special set that often which is why I think that base 90 stat is wasted on its special attack. I know Metagross learns Grass Knot that could let it hit Ground and Water mons for super effective damage that unexpectedly switches into it. But honestly there are better counter to those mons. I think Metagross would be better if it's speed and sp atk is swapped but I guess it'd worked as a decent mixed attacker in Trick Room.
