Oh I can attest to the combination of basimati and jasmine rice. I was gifted basimati sometime ago and I didn't really like it. In order not to waste, I added a bit of it to my rice and oh I totally loved it! Love the vibrant color of the rice and I can just imagine the aroma from KK.

Hi Kwankyewaa, can you please share how you keep your white pans clean and from staining from all the food you cook?
@KwankyewaasKitchen3 жыл бұрын
Hi L, it is funny you asked! I only got some burnt jollof off one this past Sunday. As soon as I finished I said to myself "you should have filmed it" I hope to do that next time! Magic eraser and dish soap removes most stains. For burnt food, I use baking soda. ❤️❤️

Good recipe. Would you get the same results if you used Coconut milk instead of the Coconut cream? I'm curious.
@clairecrick20003 жыл бұрын
You would get a better result and flavor if you use fresh grated or blended coconut milk. We in the Caribbean use fresh grated coconut milk instead of canned coconut milk or cream which would give it a rich flavor and taking the taste to another level. Just like how we would cook our rice and peas which requires fresh rich coconut milk. If we are going to use the tin milk we would use a few tins and not add any water. In USA you can get the frozen coconut cream which is rich like the grated coconut milk much better than the ones in the tins which doesn’t have much flavor it taste sometimes I find the coconut milk in cans doesn’t smell like coconut milk it only have the looks of coconut cream. I do coconut rice too but blend my fresh coconut depends on the type of rice I would blend 2 large coconuts and always used hot or warm water to blend this allows the milk to be extracted better. Give this recipe a try and you would see and taste the difference but cook the rice in pure milk instead of adding water.

I always say, whenever, I learn a new recipe or know of a certain dish, I would put my twist or spin to it . It’s all about being creative. I’m am from Guyana, South America a Caribbean culture and we do a lot of coconut dishes and in doing so we wouldn’t do it no other way but pure coconut milk.❤️
