This is very true... and it turns out many of them have beautiful and intelligent cisgendered friends, which ends up being an interesting way to meet other well-tempered cisgendered folks. it creates an interesting ambience. because as a cisgender dude when I'm at a gay bar with some buddies, meeting a cisgendered woman happens under the context of "I didn't expect to meet anyone tonight" and this creates a very safe and comfortable environment, without the pressure or context of dating, ONS nor peacockery... it turns into a pleasant surprise. You should understand though... that I have long suspected the experience I had was planned out "Let's bring her to the bar so she can meet him" So I don't think you can just Han Solo into a gay bar as a cisgendered guy and expect to meet a cisgendered female. but I do think... The gay friends love to play Matchmaker...

I'm gone into gay clubs for no reason other than my mom wanted to go. Took my mom out for Mother's Day took her to this Italian restaurant that was big on 42nd Street back in the day called Mama Leone's. And then my mom wanted to go into a strip club. So I took my mom into the strip club and we decided that the woman who looked the best was the oldest one that was up there stripping cuz she just had a really nice body. And then my mom wanted to go into a gay club, but when we looked in the basement window it was some well-dressed gay guys gathered around a piano and they were singing and it just seemed so intimate and private that I thought we would have been crashing so I said no let's not go there, so then we went into a lesbian bar. I don't think they were as friendly as the gay men probably would have been toward us. But it was cool. They ignored us. my mom giggled and gaped a bit. Anyway, I was in there cuz my mom wanted to go. A few years later I did go to a couple of gay clubs after hanging out with my gay bar boss and his boyfriend. got hit on by some lesbians who wrote a note telling me I was beautiful and I kept that note for a really long time! 🤣

I'm an IFBC apostate raised being taught that the Southern Baptists were liberals. To see a right wing offshoot just blows my mind. I imagine that it's similar to when LDS apostates see an article about Warren Jeffs. The amount of ostracization, I don't believe, is not the same between IFBC and LDS apostates. I had a wider branch of evangelical Christianity to fall back upon before I had to critically evaluate my faith. To my LDS apostate brethren in humanity out there: your experience may have not made you better, but it made you stronger.

That is not true we are all sinners who have fallen short of the glory of God. If we repent of our sins with sorrow knowing we did wrong. Then he is faithful and just to forgive your sins. A Christian is a sinner who knows he needs a savior. It is not just hypocrisy, it is all matter of evil that we do to each other. Christians are not perfect. they are just forgiven by the grace of God. As you walk you become better and stop so many of things you did in your life. However we are not God, we are imperfect beings. God gave us a free will to do right in this life or not. He didn't make us robots. However it doesn't matter if you don't believe you don't. Just stop painting all people who believe different then you with the same brush. Scumbags come in all shapes, sizes, races, genders, in all walks of life, even a relative you don't know about.

If the people there don't have free will, then God doesn't actually love free will, because time spent in heaven is infinitely longer. 5) In the story, God expected Adam and Eve to follow his rules without them even having understanding of concept of good and evil. 6) Quadrillions of animals suffer and die in the world where they have no choice and no salvation. If God existed and wanted to punish humanity for the Original Sin, making humans the only suffering and mortal species would drive the point much better.

No indication of numbers of congregrants/members though. (Stronghold Baptist church is particularly interesting name - since in the Bible the term stronghold is used for works of the devil. Technically the word is neutral but that was the immediate connection I made reading it)

These guys are dreadful. I am sure I would have been murdered as a child, given that my mother had no real use for me. I was not interested in what other people's opinion of me was. I'm still not. But, despite that, I lived in terror of my parents, and it has taken me nearly 70 years to undo the damage. Based on Jewish law, women are not allowed to be wtnesses except in matters of kashrut (kosher matters). Dad and an uncle would probably have to be the witnesses. As to the holocaust, he could ask tons of survivors at one point, or the children of survivors now. But, he doesn't want to, because since we don't accept Jesus as Messiah, evidently we are all Satan worshippers. We have a pretty good reason, however. Judaism teaches that when the Messiah comes, there will be world peace. I don't know what planet these guys are on (clearly not the same one I am on), but on this planet, we don't have world peace. I really like your show, Owen. I am mostly Jewish, but my concept of the deity is radically different. To me, the Universe is "G-d". Not some "guy" with a beard and a bad temper. But, you are very knowledgable, and morally you seem to be on the same page I am. It's really refreshing!
