I mean.. -Better hygiene and care taken to maintain that hygiene -Better feed for the cows -More space to roam, sleep, and graze -Cow is under less stress overall Less stress + more space + better food + cleaner facilities = safer raw milk, so long as the result of that is a healthier cow. Not because the bacteria is magicked away, but because doing things which promote the health of your cow and reduce disease have been directly correlated with low bacteria counts milk. Healthier cows DO produce milk with LESS bacteria. There's a reason that factory farms loves to load their feed with incredible amounts of antibiotics.. It's to compensate for their environment being cramped, dirty, almost custom-tailored to promoting infection. So, as it turns out, taking care of your animals, feeding them well, and keeping their stables clean tends to help reduce the spread of disease... Or you could load metric tons of antibiotics into the feed. Which also works and honestly the main issue is that eventually it won't work anymore, due to antibiotic resistance. It's not a crazy idea, it's honestly common sense. Here's an interesting study into the bacterial loads in farm cooperative milk. It was found almost exclusively that the weakest link in the chain wasn't the cow, but the farmers themselves. Contamination AFTER milking due to poor hygiene and a lack of proper procedure (quick refrigeration) are thought to be what caused most samples to become dangerous within 2 days. Milk sampled directly from the cow was very safe in the overwhelming majority of cases. Even with these farms not having access to many resources.. If you were to get raw milk from a reputable vendor, who you knew kept their equipment clean, kept their herd healthy, and IMMEDIATELY refrigerated their milk after harvest, then that will also magic the bacteria away because bacteria not like cold and sterile. 1. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4962278/ 2. www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC8822143/#:~:text=2.1%20Microbial%20contaminants&text=Microbial%20contamination%20of%20raw%20milk,the%20farm%20or%20during%20transport.

Even in some gross factory farms I've worked in there were still strict health and safety rules we had to follow perfectly in order to not be shut down, with regular inspections. Amish have no FDA or safety inspections for their workers. Also the amish philosophy equates animals to tools, so they work their animals to literal death, most of our animal rescue shelters are overcrowded with dogs and horses from amish farms, many have been bred against their will right after giving birth over and over for years until their body gives out.

I had someone try to sell me on these regular megadoses of IV vitamins. 🙄 I wonder if this girl knows that digestive issues are a huge problem for anyone taking a significantly larger amount than your daily value of the vitamins, and even just taking so many pills at once means she can have even more problems. Your stomach can't handle and process that many supplements at once. For the ones that are absorbed, if the amount is too high you risk overdosing, vitamin toxicity, digestive issues, and even death. Probably one of the only things keeping her from getting sick on so many supplements is actually the fact that she's taking so many at once that they can't all absorb. If she was seeing a proper doctor or nutritionist, they would never put her on a diet like this. She'd also know that supplements absorb at different rates, so you shouldn't be taking all of them at the same time every day. Her body is most likely flagging nearly all of it as waste to be eliminated through her urine ASAP.

That dietician also specifically makes content geared towards restrictive ED recovery. The fact that Liz claimed she used to be a FAN of that dietician is very telling for that reason. Tbf I’m not the biggest fan of that dietician; she projects sometimes and accuses people of disordered eating when they’re doing any amount of restriction. Not everyone has or has had a history of a restrictive ED, and some people do need to have some restrictions in their diet to manage their health or fitness goals and that’s not automatically an ED. However she was absolutely right to call out this person, and the attacking her for being prescribed medication in response was insane.

@@violetblythe6912 the thing about Abbey is that as an RD when she reviews peoples diets (except for the Harper’s Bazaar ones that they have since stopped/taken down) she watches multiple videos by that creator to get a relatively accurate view of their diet, and their relationship with food, if she’s calling out severe restriction it’s because it isn’t a one off thing, it’s because they do this regularly and use demonizing language which is indicative of a disordered relationship with food which if you’ve watched more than a little of her content is not synonymous with an Eating Disorder. Disordered eating is is thoughts language and activities, like restriction, related to food usually in the context of diet culture, and weight loss. As opposed to an Eating disorder which is disordered eating but has actual diagnostics that are measurable a la the DSM-5, Abbey also never states that anyone she has outright has an ED but that their behaviours could be indicative, of an ED, but that their behaviours are disordered.

Some states don't care and will gladly sell it in stores, some restrict it to only farms can sell the products, while all the ones that don't sell them don't do so because they've outlawed it completely just like the federal government did.

1, i had a bad episode of period cramps and i went and buy "multivitamin for girls *teenage girls" it was quite a big capsule but still its just 1 pill. And i feel better within 3 months of taking it. 2. Correcting your diet through elimination diet actually need to go through reintroduction phase. Its okay to cut down and focus on only eating 1 food group for a few while but optimally you need all food groups to heal. I once followed a bone broth protocol, bcs i have this weird allergy. But gradually i take the broth w rice(carbs) and later add more side dishes and vegetables, one by one to see which type of food is making me having allergy reactions n food sensitivity. THAT is the goal of going through elimination diet. Also one of those pills might contsin lactose/soy protein/ wheat which are common triggers to food sensitivities.

big agree. i remember her "what i eat in a day while gaining weight" videos from when she was vegetarian and just ate normal, healthy, balanced foods throughout the day while also exercising a moderate amount. it's what made me follow her in the first place because it was cool to see a model talking about her need to GAIN rather than loose weight and doing it in a healthy manner. now, though, she's just listened to the wrong quack nutritionist and backslid into a highly restrictive and extreme diet that satisfies her cravings for disordered eating while reassuring everyone around her that hey, at least she's eating enough calories, at least a "nutritionist" is supervising her.

I went to actual eating disorder recovery. In an actual facility, 8 hours a day for 4 months. It is SO disgusting to see women lie to their audience and say that they’re “recovering” from an ED, but eating in a way that is so harmful. It’s dangerous for young girls to see these seemingly successful women on social media say they’re “recovering”, and lull these young girls into being content with living with an ED that will kill them. I know these women are sick themselves. But this is the kind of thing that social media platforms should be policing rather than the ridiculous things that they do.

@witchy90210 Generally speaking, cows on large scale dairy farms don't either because it would interfere with profits. A cows nipples don't close all the way after being milked - it takes about 30 minutes. If there's a bunch of poop lying around, there's a high likelihood it'll come into contact with her nipples during that time (especially if she decides to lay down) and if that happens she's likely to develop mastitis. If she develops mastitis, her milk can no longer be sold until she recovers, and the infection could permanently reduce her milk producing capacity, and treating it costs money as well. Thus even from a strictly profits based standpoint that doesn't take animal welfare into account, it's more cost effective to try to keep the cows enclosure clean in the first place.

I'm vegan and have been in recovery from an ED for a year and by eating a balanced diet my blood work is back where it's supposed to be (with the exception of iron, but I've always been iron deficient even back when I ate meat). The only supplements I have taken since recovery is iron with a glass of OJ to promote absorption. The doc has said if my levels aren't normal after doing that for a few months then she may need to look into possible causes for malabsorption. I'll also say that when I was at my worst in my ED, I was taking loads of supplements to try and keep my body working. It's a common thing for people with a restrictive ED to try and basically game the system by hitting vit + mineral requirements with minimal calories through the use of supplements. It does not work. You need to be eating a balanced diet, whenever your body tells you.

The best part is people who demonize "processed junk" don't realise that almost every food that exists is processed to a degree. The meat she eats is still processed, ground down, packaged. THE SUPPLEMENTS she takes 32 of a day are hella processed. People like this are so aggravating.

i used to follow her sometime ago when she was on her Journey to recover from ED and i stopped when she started getting indo random diets, i sympathized with her a lot since i struggle with anorexia since i was a pre-teen, im still at 85 pounds despite being 20 years old but im on a path to recovery with medical assistance and i truly feel sorry for her. I really wish she gets better and gets proper help, recovering is a long and difficult path but i really think everyone can do it with a bit of support :)

Exactly same here. I found her just before she started this and as an ED sufferer myself I found her content encouraging. When she started pulling out raw organs claiming it was under the care of "professionals" I had to unsubscribe and ask KZbin to not recommend her videos to me anymore. I wish her luck but I have a really hard time believing she doesn't know this is still disordered eating or an active ED by this point. Continuing to cause herself suffering is one thing but she's also body checking and showing her poor diet on social media, it's not okay at all.

@@lavenderoh i felt the same way! i felt really motivated at the start, to try better at my own recovery journey when i saw her trying to fix her relationship with food despite being in the modeling industry that is so toxic. When i saw the keto stuff appearing i had to pull away bc there is no way she doesn't realize it. If you're not willing to recover, why try to sell unhealthy habits online to see others fail with you? i truly wish her the best but that made me feel frustrated

I have disordered eating on the other end of the spectrum and it is so hard to get better at eating. I really think this is her trying to have her cake and eat it too, which is a very easy thing to get trapped into with food.

I'm so thankful I found reasonable diet information that worked for me. It's whole food-plant based and not for everybody, plus requires B12 supplement but that is all. I fixed cholesterol, blood pressure, high resting heart rate and high weight. All have been healthy for 7 years except blood pressure is just a little high recently (135/87). I am cutting back salt intake and exercising more.

Why would you follower her if you don't agree with her lifestyle? Surely this isn't a new trend from her. She is acting like an authority on dairy that doesn't exist. If anything, it's the opposite and dairy is not good for you. Even if you want to argue it is, it's not as much as she is saying and buying from the "amish" but it's really not great for you.

Same. I enjoyed listening to her talk about her new hair and finding good jeans in short snippets. Eventually her content became off-puttingly self-centred, and the bits about her diet and her dog fostering made it worse. To be fair, she’s young and going through a learning process that I’m sure many of us experienced, albeit less publicly

@@dantdmfangamingrich9802 she's in her early twenties and lacking the nutrients to think critically. Her brain is not fully developed to recognise manipulation in all it's forms, especially from snake oil "nutritionists", and is clearly running all those calories to hammer home this diet is "healthy", cause this definitely needs a lot of mental gymnastics to convince herself. So yes, her thought process has been regressed to that of a child's. She needs inpatient care at a specialist clinic, since she can clearly afford it. She is an adult, yes, however adults still can have misinformed ideas of health. Heck if parents can deny their children proper food (such as a gluten free diet when their child is celiac), and medication so they don't feel like a zombie (as I did, same with the gluten thing, it was a whole thing, I was pretty medically neglected by my "parents"), then adults can absolutely convince themselves their choices are the right ones when they're not.

another thing about liz: she made a video about measuring herself for a modeling casting. all normal and good, right? until she posts her (very small, and for many very unrealistic) measurements for everyone to see. AFTER she acknowledged how harmful it is for someone struggling with their body to see. she literally said she hated when other people did that and said her waist measurement was her least favorite to show. never could be a fan of hers after that.

All the other food was liquids and berries....I hate that she is selling this as "normal" when we can all clearly see what is going on here because I don't see her eating those 8 blocks of cheese and 5 tubs of butter a week with those meals and coffee she has

I worked at a dairy farm as a cheesemaker who ran a small pasteurizing plant 5 years ago over a 2 year period, and ppl that insist raw milk is better than pasteurized milk drive me fckn crazy. Yes, huge plants that pasteurize their milk tend to kill off the nutritional value of the milk to the point where they have to ADD BACK that value with vitamin powders and stuff. But how is that different from taking 32 pills or plant based protein powder? HOW? If you *truly* want tasty and nutritional milk, support your local dairy farm (assuming you have one that is). I can almost guarantee you that not only the people in charge will give you a free tour of the place, but they’ll also provide insight on HOW YOUR MILK IS BEING PASTEURIZED. At our plant, we used the lowest form of pasteurization that’s in accordance with rules regarding the production and packaging of Grade A products. Meaning the process killed off the bad bacteria, but kept the stuff that’s good for gut health. But the thing about the attitudes ppl have about raw milk is that it’s not *just* raw milk; these attitudes usually extend to not wanting farm animals vaccinated and wanting *organic* produce not treated with pesticides. Both of which are equally stupid because if you’re consuming a product that came from an animal, if it wasn’t vaccinated you are putting yourself at terrible risk. And don’t even get me started on how there was a farm 10 years back who was trying to treat their produce with *organic* pesticide and ended up causing a whole tomato blight because of it. People truly do not realize how terrible these fads are both with regards to public health safety and for farms.
