Gege is a twisted genius with this one. It’s been exactly a year since Gojo and Sukuna fought for the first time and clashed both their domains and now seeing todays chapter and how we have come full circle once again for “Gojo” and Sukuna to go at it again is quite insane and unreal. They about to put the jujutsu in the kaisen with this one. Yuta is my favorite character in jjk for this soul reason. Locked in 24/7 Coldest dude in the game.

If kenjaku's technique was a passive or always active type, he wouldn't be able to use other CT's like curse spirit manipulation or gravity. It's obviously a techniques that needs a one time activation and not always active cause even when experiencing curse techniques burnout, kenjaku didnt lose control of geto's body or anything.

From a narrative perspective, this is a fun twist, but it could go sideways. You risk disrespecting Gojo through his cursed technique losing twice and squandering Yuta's big sacrifice if he loses (which he probably will), or you snatch Yuji's opportunity to get revenge on Sukuna and Yuta showing him up. I think the best way to play this is to allow Yuta to weaken Sukuna enough for Yuji to separate Megumi from Yuta, then Yuta must be put out of commission one way or the other. It gives Yuta, and to some extent Gojo, a big W without giving Yuta the ultimate W of finishing Sukuna.

It seems as though Gege didn't give Sukuna a definite power level. He just adjusts it to the moment. However, I do think the time is rapidly approaching where it will be left to Yuji and possibly Megumi to finish off Sukuna for good.

I'm ok with Yuta getting to shine through this fight, if Yuji doesn't defeat Sukuna outright, he can still have his MC moment against the merger. If Yuta takes down Sukuna in Gojo's body I'll be ok with that. It took several different sorcerers of high calibers to make this moment possible: Gojo's superior genetics Kenjaku's curse technique Yuta's massive reserves of cursed energy and abilities. Mc doesn’t get his moment (merger is completely pointless sukuna is *the* villain, merger is nothing story wise) Character that does something goes backwards to achieve victory, he doesn’t do anything with his own ability, steals a technique to steal a body of someone that already was done. Students can’t grow to handle sukuna they need skin suit gojo to win. Unless something major alters the current set up this is a huge miss imo, and already ruined yuta. This kind of thing is satisfying when a villain does it, you can play on the abuse of the cherished persons body, show things the original wouldn’t or couldn’t have done, etc etc. make a hero do it and it just kind of undermines them, they had to get someone else’s kit because they can’t fulfil their role. It’s not even like a copy tech where he adds to his repertoire he full on skinsuited gojo, can’t help but see that as a step *back*.

Something I really like is that Yuta lays it out, your not just fighting a nobody. It's Sukina, it's all or nothing you win or everything burns. Yuta doesn't want to go through with the idea, its clear but he's pragmatic enough to understand the need, in a perfect world it never happens, but this is JJK. So now he's gambling everything to win the fight Gojo couldn't despite giving it everything he had at the time, he came close but that's not enough with Sukina. I do like that Yuta also points out that it's their fault that Gojo is on his own, they let him handle everything, if they had stepped up and grown to match him things would have been different, he wouldn't of been seen as a monster. Being alone and isolated is crushing, even for the strongest, no one should have to go through life like that, I think Yuta more than anyone understood that which is part of why he's doing this now. Something someone else brought up, Geto did sort of surface when Gojo was sealed, I wonder since in this case given the more positive bond between Gojo and Yuta we might see something like this again but in a better light?

5 mins 😭 imagine the ridiculous twist is that this was still all apart of Kenjacku’s 5-D chess game-plan. He knew or gambled on Yuta likelihood of being a hero by any means necessary via the means of copying his (Kenjacku’s) curse technique and going into Gojo’s body; essentially doing the work for Kenjacku. Also Yuta supposedly had Rika eat Kenjacku’s brain + technically Geto’s head to copy the technique, ergo the possibility (that was shown back in Shibuya) that Geto/the soul could re-posses their body for either only a brief time or longer due to one’s skills & experience which Kenjacku possesses no doubt. Of course the other soul who may end up doing all that can be Gojo as his corpse is being used, potentially even Geto again with his head & face as mentioned with what Rika had to eat. Although a head might be deemed useless I guess.
